Locations 🌍 Fable Hospital Dev Diary #4

Hello future manager of medieval hospitals,

In today's development diary, we're sharing a fundamental aspect of Fable Hospital: the locations. As you might expect, the location of your hospital will be crucial in managing it.

But before we continue! Don't forget to add Fable Hospital to your wishlist, unless you want a nighttime visit from the Werewolf 🐺

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2726060/Fable_Hospital/

Each region will test your management skills, as each comes with its own challenges and sometimes even advantages. Resources and temperature vary drastically from one region to another. So, it’s essential that you know how to adapt to the conditions. And quickly, because a frozen patient is a lost patient (or is it?).

Below, we share four of them, out of the 13 that will be in Fable Hospital.
Egypt
The cradle of an ancient civilization with a strange obsession for piling rocks in pyramid shapes. Its arid and dry climate poses a challenge for resource gathering. Luckily, the great Nile River is perfect for cooling off and is home to the friendliest crocodiles in the world.
Scandinavia
Northern Europe is characterized by its cold climate. Very cold. Seriously, very, very, very cold. You'll have to figure out how to keep your hospital at a temperature reasonable for human life (and for other races, of course).
North America
The mythical Wild West, with much more wild than west. Its nomadic natives also need hospital services. The land is desert-like, full of prickly cacti, and surrounded by mountains of a strange reddish color.
France
Here, the climate is mild and gentle, without major temperature challenges. The rivers and frequent rains make the land fertile, perfect for agriculture and abundant in resources. But not all the news is good: occasionally, you might run into a French person.

VIP Characters 👑 Fable Hospital Dev Diary #3

Hello future manager of medieval hospitals,

In previous development diaries, we have shared who your future employees and patients will be. In today’s update, we introduce you to a special type of character: the VIP visitors!

From time to time, we will receive special visits for which we must be prepared. An ancient and powerful god will drop by our hospital to see how things are going. And it’s best to be prepared: they are profoundly demanding of their subjects (not so much of themselves).

We might receive visits from:

 • Zeus ⚡
 • Odin ❄️
 • Ra ☀️
 • Hades 🔥
 • Quetzalcoatl 🦅
 • Inari 🦊
 • Wukong 🐒

The VIP characters add an extra layer of depth to managing your hospital. This gives you an additional incentive to always strive for optimal performance, presenting a constant challenge that rewards you generously when everything runs as it should (or almost does).

Patients 💉 Fable Hospital Dev Diary #2

Hello future manager of medieval hospitals,

We have already introduced you to the unusual cast of doctors and workers that will be at your disposal. Today, we share with you those who always have the last word: the clients, the patients of Fable Hospital. Spoiler: get ready to treat terrifyingly... well, just terrifying diseases.

Fable Hospital is a management game where you take charge of a hospital in a medieval fantasy world. And aren’t patients what give meaning to every good hospital? Don’t forget to add Fable Hospital to your wishlist to stay updated with all the news.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2726060/Fable_Hospital/
Decapitated
The great advantage of this patient is that his "illness" is easy to diagnose. It’s obvious at first glance. The problem? Well, his head is not attached to the rest of his body. He requires rather bold remedies.
Zombie
The kind of patient that doctors love the most: never complains, and if they do, it’s completely unintelligible. They don’t need anesthesia, or at least it seems so. Almost all advantages, the big challenge is enduring the smell they emit.
Skeleton
Everyone thinks that in his previous life he was a pirate, but no one has been able to confirm it. No one knows either if his previous life had anything to do with his current illness: the complete lack of skin, organs, and muscles. He never parts from his hat.
Dark Fairy
She’s going through a phase, or at least that’s what her parents claim. As for her, she vehemently denies it. Butterfly wings, heart of a venomous spider. She flies but not much, never rises more than a few centimeters off the ground.
Werewolf
He has a love-hate relationship with the moon. The most hated by the rest of the patients: he spends the night howling and doesn’t let anyone sleep. Feeding them is more expensive than any possible treatment they receive. And on more than one occasion, they confuse their doctor’s hand with a food dish.
Minotaur
They are usually unbearable: they think of themselves as living legends, narcissistic to the extreme. To their credit, they have millennia-old anecdotes. They have a strange obsession with red fabrics.
Mummy
The quintessential elderly patient. He is (literally) older than the pyramids. His joints creak as if they haven’t moved in 4000 years. And most likely, that’s the case. He’s the only patient who already comes bandaged from home.
Orc
He has the intellectual capacity of a rock. Adding two plus two is a challenge for him. The mind of a 2-year-old in the body of an Olympic weightlifting champion. Weapons are not allowed in the hospital, but no one has dared to enforce this rule with him.
Possessed
Everyone knows there is something evil inside her body, but no one really knows what. Her gaze competes in coldness with her heart. Practically all doctors fear her (due to her bad temper). She never parts from her teddy bear (unfortunately, it smells awful).
Vampire
The living (or almost) proof that vampires exist. He dresses and behaves like an aristocrat, but no one takes him seriously. He thinks he is much scarier than he actually is (not at all). He tries unsuccessfully to scare the hospital staff, usually making a fool of himself with his refined manners.

Doctors & Workers ⚕️ Fable Hospital Dev Diary #1

Hello, future manager of medieval hospitals,

What would a hospital be without a stellar cast of doctors with solid academic training, extensive experience, and impeccable ethics? Well, you're about to find out because the doctors at your disposal in Fable Hospital will be... Well, let's say... peculiar.

Fable Hospital is a management game where you take charge of a hospital in a medieval fantasy world. As a good director, the selection and management of staff will be crucial for the proper functioning of your facility. You might even end up curing some patients, who knows.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2726060/Fable_Hospital/

Below, we share with you the different types of doctors and workers that you'll have at your disposal in Fable Hospital.
Doctors

Plague Doctor
The only one with knowledge slightly similar to medicine. He cures 50% of his patients and kills the other 50%, a surprisingly better average than his colleagues. He is convinced of the health benefits of bad odors. What a cheap excuse for poor hygiene.
Druid
His favorite remedies are infusions and music. Unfortunately for his patients, his infusions taste like dirt, and his musical abilities are on par with those of a deaf cat. To a druid, magic and gardening are the same thing.
Alchemist
The world's foremost expert in succeeding by failing. The worse his formulas' results, the more likely they are to end up curing the patient. Side effects are... secondary. Who cares if your skin changes color, the number of fingers on one hand isn't usual, or you lose an ear. The important thing is getting cured.
Fortune Teller
She is a master of future knowledge. But she can't differentiate between the important parts and the trivial details. Well, no one is perfect. By the way, her obsession with the evil eye as the cause of all known diseases doesn't help.
Mad Engineer
He is convinced that he will change the world with his next invention. And he certainly will: to a smokier and more explosion-filled place. Skilled like few others in the art of creating things that almost work.
Torturer
When you hear him talk about "alternative therapies," you know what he means. He is the best at making his patients talk, though always in an incomprehensible manner. "If it hurts, it means it's healing" as a way of life.
Friar
Always willing to pray for your soul and your health. A staunch defender of moderation with a glass of wine in hand. He has a tendency to prescribe "a fun afternoon" as a cure for almost everything (this afternoon includes large amounts of wine).
Nuns
Ancient healing methods, recipes with centuries of "proven" effectiveness. They dedicate their lives to caring for others as long as your health improves quickly; their patience runs out quickly (especially if a Friar drinks their wine).
Wizard
He is wise and reflective, always invoking the right magic, though his healing spells produce a slight burning smell in the patients. He dresses like a solemn wizard but his true specialty is card tricks.
Workers

Gatherer Goblins
They work tirelessly and never talk about working conditions. By working, they mean collecting all kinds of things. And by all kinds of things, I mean EVERYTHING, even those with an owner. Their concept of ownership is, let's say... flexible.
Hunchback Janitor
Frighteningly efficient in keeping the hospital clean. His cleaning method inevitably involves scaring the patients. This doesn't make him very popular among them, but he is undoubtedly the favorite of rats and other rodents.
Brewmaster
The most beloved employee in the hospital. He prescribes beer as a cure as lightly as he samples his own brews. His only weak point is his inability to measure the potency of his beer, which usually has more degrees than a stew in August.
Baker
She is capable of turning flour, water, and yeast into a healing miracle. Sometimes she even adds sugar, though no one is sure if it's too much. Most of her bread is so hard that you could knock down a troll with a single blow, but that's a minor detail.
Leprechaun
His storytelling skills reach unimaginable limits: some patients manage to get cured just by listening to him narrate, the rest simply fall asleep. The problem? His fondness for practical jokes. The poor patients who fall asleep often end up with their faces marked.
