10 Things You Didn't Know About Mars Attacks

While researching for Mars Attracts we came across quite a few interesting facts about Mars Attacks, so thought we'd put our favorites into a video! Did you know a number of big name stars turned down roles in the movie, or that we almost got a Dinosaurs Attack movie instead?

We also run a competition with every video, so drop a comment on YouTube and you'll automatically be entered for a chance at a free Steam key when the game comes out.

Mars Attracts Devlog 08 - Research System Overhaul

Hey All,

If there's one piece of feedback that we heard loud and clear from the first alpha playtest, it's that you want to see more gore, more gruesome details, more carnage!

In the latest devlog, we're giving a sneak peak into how we're implementing changes to bring the weird and wacky elements of Mars Attacks to the forefront, starting with a brand new Research system. Prepare to dismember, incinerate, drown, splice, and electrocute your human captives. For science, of course!

We'll be sharing more examples of changes based on your suggestions in the future, but in the meantime we'd like to say a huge thank you for your input. If you have any more ideas, or would like to chat to us directly about the game, join us on Discord!

Mars Attracts Devlog 07 - Lessons From The Alpha Playtest

Hey Martians and Martianettes,

We wanted to say a huge thankyou to everyone who participated in the Alpha Playtest! We received loads of fantastic feedback, bug reports, and new ideas to integrate into the game. We're trying to make Mars Attracts something really special, and having so many people engage with the game and share suggestions at an early stage is a HUGE help. Thank you! 💗

We've just released a video summarizing the key data points and learnings - check it out:
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

We'll be implementing some of the most common feature requests right away:
  • Move objects after they're placed
  • More visibility over urgent character needs
  • Better tools to manage human escapes

And will be focused on two big areas for the next phase of development:
  • System complexity - adding new and deeper systems that intertwine to form interesting gameplay opportunities.
  • Differentiation - leaning into the darkness of the IP, as well as the things that make the concept unique vs other park builders.

Thanks again for all of your input - this really is the best stage of development as we overhaul the roadmap based on your suggestions. If you have any more ideas, or would like to chat to us directly about the game, join us on Discord!

Check out Blood Bar Tycoon

Hey All!

Some friends of ours are about to release their game, BLOOD BAR TYCOON, on February 4, 2025. It’s a super cool, darkly humorous tycoon game where you abduct humans to feed vampires! If you enjoyed the Mars Attracts Alpha Playtest, chances are you’ll love it.

They’re an indie team, just like us, so we just thought we'd show them some love 🙂. The demo is available right now until launch! Go try it and wishlist their game today!

Have a great day!
