A_Mods_steam_workshop_READ_ME.txt
#############################
## Steam Workshop
##
## When reading any file, the game will prioritize files in the 'mods/' folder first, followed by
## subscribed items from the Steam Workshop, and finally the default game files.
##
## You can find all files for this example in the 'modsExample/' folder within the game files.
##
#####

To create a new mod that can be submitted to the Steam Workshop, create a new folder for your mod in the 'mods/' directory.

Inside this folder, organize your files in the same structure as they are found in the game's directories.

Example:

# Step 1

Create a new folder within the 'mods/' directory in the game files.
For this example, we'll name the folder 'MyOwnMod'.
Make sure the folder name is unique!

# Step 2

In the newly created folder (example path: mods/MyOwnMod/), create a text file named mod.txt.

## EXAMPLE CODE OF mod.txt file

{
Name: "Two new Governments",
Description: "This item will add two new Governments, and two flags.",

Tags: [ "Map", "Government" ],

ChangeNote: "First release",
}

## END OF EXAMPLE CODE OF mod.txt file

Copy it to mod.txt and edit it.

Set a name for your mod that will be visible in the Steam Workshop.

Name: "Your Title of the Mod in the Steam Workshop",

The same with Description and ChangeNote.

## Tags
In your tags, put the categories that your mod fits into

You can use as many tags as you like:
Tags: [ "FIRST_TAG", "SECOND_TAG", "THIRD_TAG" ],
Tags: [ "FIRST_TAG" ],

Example tags:

Tags: [ "Map", "Government" ],
Tags: [ "Scenario" ],
Tags: [ "Mod", "Laws", "Units", "Buildings" ],

# Step 3 - Main mod image: "logo.png"

In the same newly created folder: (Example path: mods/MyOwnMod/)

Place the main image file of the mod, which will be published on the Steam Workshop.

The mod's main image file must be named "logo.png".

# Step 4

We are already configured, now we can place the files that will be part of this mod in this folder.
We will create new governments for the game in this example.

## Basically, you create the file structure of the main game in the mod folder.

The Governments file is located in the path:
Game/Governments.json

So copy this file to the mod folder. Imporatant! : use the same path where you found this file.

mods/MyOwnMod/game/
## The file was in the game folder, so create a game folder inside the mod folder and place the copied file there.

If the "game" folder does not exist in the mod folder, create it. And there place Governments.json

Now when you launch the game, the game will load the Governments.json file from your mod. (Path of the file: mods/MyOwnMod/game/Governments.json)

# Step 5

Let's make some changes to the game!

Open Governments.json as a text file in Notepad.

### EXAMPLE CODE

{
Name: "YourGovernmentType",
Extra_Tag: "k",
GOV_GROUP_ID: 0,

RulerTitle: King,
RulerRoman: true,
KingsImages: true,

Color: [255, 194, 36],

AVAILABLE_SINCE_AGE_ID: 0,

REVOLUTIONISTS: false,

AdvisorCost: -0.05,
MonthlyLegacy: 0.35,
MaxManpower: 1000,
},

### EXAMPLE CODE END

You can add new Goverment from example code after any:
" },"
in the file.

Add new Goveremnt to the file.
Extra_Tag: "k", (The tag should be unique)

To publish your mod to Steam Workshop, open the game, go to editor -> Steam Workshop -> and find your mod folder, click on it to publish.

## Update the mod

To update the mod, follow the same steps.
You can change "ChangeNote" description in mod.txt.

Do not delete the automatically created id.txt file!

Available scenarios and starting dates - Age of History 3

Greetings!
Experience the game's 23 diverse scenarios, spanning various historical eras.

Check out a list of scenarios available in the game at launch:
476 - Fall of the Eternal City
Lead a barbarian faction to conquer the remnants of the Roman Empire.
1066
Europe witnessed the Norman invasion of England, while empires crumbled in the East - Byzantines faded, Islam fragmented, and Mongols rose.
1354
Europe was engulfed in conflict as the Hundred Years' War tore through France, and the Byzantine Empire faced the looming threat of the Ottomans. Meanwhile, the Mongol Empire splintered, leaving vast regions in chaos as the Black Death continued its deadly march across the continent.
1440
In the east, the Ottoman Empire casts a long shadow. Mehmed II, a young sultan with ambition burning in his eyes, dreams of conquering Constantinople, the jewel of the Byzantine Empire, a city teetering on the brink of collapse. Across the English Channel, a fragile peace holds between England and France, both nations licking their wounds from the Hundred Years' War. But tensions simmer beneath the surface, and the embers of conflict could easily flare anew.
1618 - Thirty Years' War
In Europe, the Thirty Years' War was about to begin, a devastating conflict that would embroil much of the continent. It started in the Holy Roman Empire, a loose conglomeration of states, duchies, and principalities under the nominal control of the Habsburg Emperor. Tensions between Catholic and Protestant states had reached a breaking point, and the Defenestration of Prague in May 1618, where two Catholic officials were thrown out of a castle window by Protestant nobles, set the stage for a long and bloody war.
1836 - Victorian Era
The world was rapidly changing. Europe was recovering from the Napoleonic Wars, with major powers maintaining a fragile peace. Industrialization was transforming Britain, bringing both prosperity and social challenges. France, under King Louis-Philippe, balanced monarchy and revolutionary ideals, while Germany and Italy experienced growing nationalist movements.
1914 - The Great War

1936 - World War 2
Europe was dominated by great powers with vast colonial empires. The British Empire, under King George V, stretched across the globe, proclaiming that the sun never set on its dominions. London was a hub of commerce, culture, and power, yet tensions brewed beneath the surface. Germany, led by Kaiser Wilhelm II, was an industrial powerhouse with ambitions for greater influence. Its rapid military build-up and aggressive diplomacy caused unease among its neighbors, particularly France and Britain.
2022 - Modern World
Unveiling the Battlefield

Greetings, commanders! Today, we delve into the fiery heart of war – the battlefield! Here, meticulously crafted strategies clash in a dynamic struggle for dominance. Let's explore the intricate dance of military might that unfolds in our game.
The Art of Deployment
Every battle begins with the deployment phase. Two opposing armies, one attacking and the other defending, face off on a meticulously detailed battlefield. Each army is strategically organized into two lines:
Front Line
This vanguard bears the brunt of the enemy assault. Units here need to be resilient, well-disciplined, and capable of delivering devastating blows.
Second Line
This support line provides crucial backup. They may offer ranged attacks, bolster the morale of frontline troops, or fulfill specialized functions.

The maximum number of regiments you can deploy depends on the battle width. This, in turn, is determined by the greater battle width of the civilizations involved. A larger battle width allows for grander clashes with more troops, while a smaller width necessitates a more focused deployment.
Generals play a pivotal role in battle.
Their leadership inspires troops.

Attack Value: A high attack value increases enemy casualties, significantly impacting their fighting ability. This value is determined in part by a dice roll mechanic, adding an element of uncertainty to even the most meticulously planned battles.
Defense Value: A strong defense value bolsters your troops' resilience, minimizing your own losses. This, combined with the attack value, underlines the crucial strategic importance of a skilled general.
The Thrill of Combat
The battle phase unfolds over a predetermined number of days, each one a whirlwind of activity

Frontline Clashes: Units in the front line engage in brutal combat, inflicting casualties on their enemy counterparts.
Second Line Support: Units in the second line can also participate, unleashing attacks on the enemy's front line if within range.

These clashes result in casualties, forcing units to retreat or fight with diminished effectiveness.
The Shifting Sands of Morale
Morale plays a critical role in battlefield dynamics.
As casualties mount and units suffer losses, their morale can plummet.
Low morale can lead to
Retreat: Units may choose to retreat from the battlefield, removing their strength from the fight and potentially disrupting the entire formation.
Reduced Effectiveness: Units with low morale fight less effectively, impacting your overall fighting potential.
The Terrain Advantage
The type of terrain you fight on can significantly impact the battlefield. Rugged mountains can offer defensive bonuses to your front line, while open plains leave them exposed but allow for flanking maneuvers. Understanding the terrain and using it to your advantage is key to achieving tactical superiority.
Battles conclude with one of two outcomes
Destruction: An army is considered destroyed if it cannot sustain itself for the entire battle duration. This can occur due to overwhelming casualties, plummeting morale, or a strategic retreat.
Survival: If an army survives the battle phase with sufficient troops and morale, it emerges victorious.
