Road to EA - The Abbot and the custodians

Hey everyone!
As we get closer, we're going to dive into some of the more important topics we haven't talked about yet!
We've talked about the seasons, we've already shown you some new beer styles, and now it's time to look at some new roles for your Monks in the game.

Today's Topic: The abbot and the custodians
Here comes new fermentines!

The custodians
As you know, someone has to clean up after all the mess that comes with being a brewer. In the demo, you were responsible for lighting the candles and picking up the broom. Now it is time to get someone else to do it for you and save your hard work for your beermaking!

Meet the custodians! They will be able to to all of the hard work in the Abbey so that the rest of your monkls work on the beer unbothered!
The Abbot
Cleaning is nice, but you might also need someone to keep order in the workplace. For this, we have the head of the abbey (next to you, of course), the Abbot! When you unlock the Abbot during your session, you will receive a special bonus thanks to his presence! You can choose between two profiles with different bonuses in different themes.

Count on the abbot to teach some manners in your drunk monks and keep them fresh to work

That's it for today!
If you have any questions regarding the game, the release or the custodians and abbots, feel free to ask in the comments and we'll answer next time!

Road to EA - Unlocking new beer styles!

Hello everyone!
Get ready for a look on the new system to unlock beer that will change you from the demo! You will also find a new section of this Road to EA where we'll bring back comments from the last blog post!

Today's topic: Unlocking new beer styles!
Unlocking new beer

Just like you did in the demo, the new village you'll reach won't be contempted with simple light ales.
Along your journey in Ale Making, you will be able to use new styles of beer, from the blonde beer to some Hefeweizen!

To unlock those new styles, you will have to fill some prerequisite as well as brewing a beer in a specific way. This can go from a specific ingredients to specific quality of virtues. Have a look at the quest to unlock the Amber Ale!

Oh, the joy of brewing possibilities into perfection!

With the arrival into Early Access, you will be able to craft even more Ales than during the previous demo! Here is some you will find early in your journey:

 • Blonde Ale - One amazingly clear, clean, and crisp ale that makes any summer day all the more bearable! Carries a brilliant light color and is very easy to drink with its light aromas and flavors.

 • Old Ale - An aged beauty like this one we'll keep brewing with Gruit! Could be blended with fresher ales to fierce 'em up, but it's a perfect dark, strong malty ale on its own!

 • Amber Ale - A delicious ale that ranges from deep gold to dark amber tints, characterized by pleasant bitterness to balance out the sweetness of the malts.

 • Herbal Ale - Before this recent fixation with Hops - and for a few centuries - we brewed with Gruit. The resulting Herbal Ales had irregular characters at best, but were still tasty and exciting!

And many more are still on the way...
Answering you

Following our last post, we had a comment that we thought of answering! (note: those were already answered in the comments but we hope to give those questions some visibility)

In terms of EA feedback, do you have any plans/preferences as to where this will be?

Bugs will be best reported through the in-game tool (that we improved and empowered since the demo) because with each report it provides us saves, logs and a screenshot, and a few info on the game state (ofc if the player also writes a few details on the bug and the repro it helps even more!).
For detailed constructive feedback about everything else, it's gonna be either here on the dedicated Steam Forum or on Discord where we'll be able to check and answer quickly!

That's it for today!
We hope you discovered some new things! if you have more questions ask them in the comments and we'll answer them as well as highlight them!

See you next week to talk about another additon to the game for the Early Access

Road to EA - Seasonal changes

Hello brewers!
As you know, the release of the early access is planned soon! Let's have a look at everything coming your way! Before going to major topics, let's stop for a quick overview of what we talked about previously...Today's topic: seasonal change!
The four seasons

Starting from the Early Access, you will be able to see the evolution of the seasons impacting the abbey.
These changes will be visible and you'll be able to see the transition in real time. Have a look and let us know what you think!

You'll be able to enjoy the four seasons directly from the comfort of your abbey

These seasons are not just for show (even if they are beautiful). On top of chosing specific ingredients that are related to the ongoing season, they will reduce the production cost of your beer.
So, be creative and try to experiment to get the best out of what the seasons have to offer!

The brighter is the sun, the better is the price
