Holy robot! The Talos Principle: Reawakened is less than 24 hours away!
As you know by now (hopefully), Reawakened features a brand new chapter—
In the Beginning. This new chapter is not just a regular old thing that Croteam made. Oh, no! With it, we had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with some of the most talented creators from our modding community. Under the guidance of our gameplay designers, these contributors helped craft puzzles that evolved from early prototypes into fully realized experiences within the chapter.
In the Beginning consists of 18 puzzles in total—16 of which were created by these talented contributors: Mauritsio, Innocentive, Renan "RFC" Cavalieri, Ana "Phoenix" Messina, and Adrià Valls Puig.
We're proud of the creativity and passion they brought to the project, and it's been amazing to watch their ideas come to life. Now, we'd like to introduce these contributors and give them a chance to share a bit about themselves and their journey within the community.

I'd made some puzzles for the Workshop of the original game, but that was a long time ago, and I certainly didn't want to retread old ground. This time, I drafted several ways for the game's mechanics to interact with one another in ways that hadn't been done in the base game before. I then built several variations on top of that and ended up combining them into one extended puzzle.
But at some point, I realised I'd gone overboard with the difficulty, so I decided to make the latter half of the puzzle optional by placing a Star at the end. I'm glad that Croteam's gameplay designers enjoyed it enough to include it — I hope you enjoy it too!

Ana and I discovered The Talos Principle in 2014 after I finished Serious Sam 3 and wanted more from Croteam. I found it on their Steam page, tried the demo, loved it, and shared it with Ana, who was just as amazed.
We bought it immediately, and it changed us. Aside from Portal, we were not into puzzle games, but The Talos Principle was different. Its puzzles were fun, and the story was captivating. We started following Croteam on Facebook, and it was only in 2020, during the pandemic, that we joined their Discord server and became active in the community.
That was when we also started learning the Serious Editor. We had worked on small mods before for Team Fortress 2, Half-Life, and Portal, but this was a game changer. It gave us real insight into game development.
It also led to an incredible opportunity. We got to test The Talos Principle 2. Contributing to a game we love was an unforgettable experience, and we gained a wealth of knowledge along the way. We played a lot of prototype puzzles during that time and learned the dos and don'ts. Eventually, we had the opportunity to put everything together and create our own puzzles.
Seeing people enjoy something we helped build was truly an amazing experience for which we are forever grateful.

I first got into creating content for first-person puzzle games with Portal 2. When The Talos Principle was released, I explored every nook and cranny of the world Croteam had built. As soon as the first custom campaigns started appearing, I knew I wanted to create something of my own.
I reached out to the small but passionate Talos Principle modding community and began designing puzzles centered around the concept of time. After about six months of work, I released The Fourth Dimension, which went on to become one of the highest-rated custom campaigns on the Steam Workshop.
I played through The Talos Principle 2 as soon as it launched. Around half a year later, I was thrilled when Croteam approached me with the opportunity to create puzzles for a new campaign in The Talos Principle: Reawakened. I jumped back into the authoring tools and had a blast experimenting with new ideas. That process resulted in eight puzzles—three of which are now part of the new chapter, "In the Beginning".

We're absolutely amazed by the work these authors did on Reawakened, and can't wait to hear your thoughts on how their unique styles and approaches to setting up puzzles fit into the world of The Talos Principle.
Much love from Croteam!
