Update v1.4.0 patch notes

Hi everyone,

We're alive! As we recently brought Dollhouse to... another PC store platform ;), we found that there were still some things in the game that needed fixing. That's why we're bringing a one-off new patch here to the game on Steam as well!

This update focuses on fixing some nasty bugs that were still in the game. Here's a full list!

  • Fixed an issue where the second track "The moon is blue" was not audible in the game after track is switched
  • Fixed an issue where button text overlapped
  • Fixed an issue where death mask item in mannequin augmented in the journal, had placeholder thumbnail
  • Fixed an issue where equipping one or two passive abilities did not complete the 'Equip 2 abilities' quest
  • Fixed an issue where after respawning the flash light charge level was not full
  • Fixed an issue where texts got cut off on different show timing boards due to wall texture in chapter 2
  • Fixed an issue where player was able to assign 'Windows' and 'Num Lock' keys in the Controls Key binding section
  • Fixed an issue where player fails to progress further if they stabbed bodies more than the required amount in Chapter 4
  • Fixed an issue where burst SFX was not audible after players analyzed any game asset
  • Fixed an issue where ability unnecessarily got triggered if player pressed 'RT' to use Flash during gameplay
  • Fixed an issue where players could not pick up extracted memory from Skill share station on Chapter 6
  • Fixed an issue where wall texture was missing at the door present in the lost room of the 3rd Chapter
  • Fixed an issue where the ability points were displayed in negative value during lost room of Chapter 4
  • Fixed an issue where the enlighten ability unlocked more than once after progressing

NOTE FROM DEVELOPERS

This update contains residual fixes left on our plate to fix along with some community reports. We will no longer be supporting Dollhouse after this update (unless there is a massively reported game-breaking bug). Thank you guys for understanding, we love you all and hope you guys will keep enjoying Dollhouse for years to come!

GENERAL GAMEPLAY FIXES
  • Fixed subtitles playing inconsistently in certain countries
  • Fixed a play loop issue when analyzing threats
  • Fixed a bug that caused vinyls that had been picked up to spawn on the map
  • Fixed a bug that caused the check for Critics Choice Achievement to fail to trigger, and give it to those that should have earned it
  • Fixed a bug that caused monster footstep to become too quiet
  • Fixed a bug that caused room ambience to leak into the hallway
  • Fixed a bug that caused far distance SFX to play as if they are nearby
  • Fixed a bug that caused the monster movement to become mismatched from its animations
  • Change the particle effects on Dahlia monsters so that it's only on its scare
  • Implemented additional footstep SFX
  • Fixed a bug that caused knife icon to be shown when there is no one the local player can kill in MP
  • Fixed a bug that failed to enable kill action when their target is in range

The time has come. The final major update for Dollhouse has arrived. It was quite a journey, we would like to thank the community for their amazing support that allowed us to keep going for this long. We hope you guys enjoy this update!

FAREWELL PARTY

This update overhauls various aspects of the Multiplayer mode in our game and other QoL updates. This update serves as a bookend to our multiplayer mode with a few new additions.

GENERAL GAMEPLAY UPDATE

Multiplayer Additions
  • Added “Murder Party” costumes for all Nominees. These are the corrupted variants of each playable Nominee
  • Updated Splashes for new costumes for all Nominees.
  • Added Enhancement card customization for each Nominee, these are minor buffs players can further customize their characters with to suit their play styles
  • Updated the Menus for the Nominee Selection and MP Lobby to support the Enhancement cards

Multiplayer Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the dropped connection does not clean up properly
  • Reduced the minimum number of players to two instead of three

Singleplayer Additions
  • Music Vinyls collected in the game can now be used to customize the default soundtrack for all Safe Room music. Players are no longer restricted to only listening to the tracks in the Main Menu
  • Added Vinyl Player to every Safe Room


GENERAL GAMEPLAY FIXES
  • Fixed Vinyl placement issues so Vinyl pickups are now tracked
  • Fixed an issue that caused dialogues to be cut off after the final boss fight
  • Fixed an issue that caused the recording station to not play idle SFX
  • Fixed an issue that caused the recording station to not account for pause during playback
  • Fixed an issue that caused part 2 chase initialization SFX to play in part 1
  • Fixed an issue that caused fade shader materials to not fade to transparent correctly
  • Fixed an issue that caused the loadout to misbehave under certain conditions
  • Attempted to remove the flickering of abilities when MP stars in the centre HUD
  • Updated MP loading screen so the "how to play" text has more room to display its contents


QoL UPDATES
  • Removed vinyl pickup in the tutorial to make it less confusing
  • Added background to footer text in the Nominee selection screen to make the hotkeys more visible
  • Updated various text instructions to standardize it and make it more clear
  • Added icons beside the Modifier list in the pause menu to easier identity which modifier is enabled
  • Updated the Pause Menu so it shows a chalk background when you select the chalk rather than a bottle to reduce confusion
  • Removed the color from traps to keep it consistent with the rest of the threats in the game

[IMPORTANT] Brightness Update

Updated the base brightness of the game and changed how the brightness calibration is calculated so the changes to brightness are more visible


This is our last Major Content update for Dollhouse. There will be one more patch coming sometime this week or early next week to fix any major outstanding bugs/ issues.

The following are the most community requested modifiers that we wanted to implement for you guys. Each modifier provides new styles of gameplay. These modifiers can be mixed and matched with any existing mode to create a unique experience. Survival will never be the same.

  • Ace: Mode where the player is already max level and has all the abilities unlocked
  • Color: Mode where everything is in color
  • Rush: Mode where players are on a timer


GAMEPLAY FIXES


  • Fixed a bug that causes the loadout to insert items to the incorrect position under certain conditions
  • Fixed a bug that causes old saves to fail to load after updating
  • Fixed a bug that causes the background for Skill names in HUD to not resize properly


GAMEPLAY UPDATE


  • Updated Main Menu to allow for the new features
  • Updated Loadout, Journal and Movie Editor so the levels are capped at 50
  • Updated Loadout so the Character and Token count buttons behaves more consistently


We at Creazn Studio want to say thanks to all the feedback and support from the community. Dollhouse would not have improved as much as it did if it weren’t for you guys! We have updated the game weekly, fixing bugs, and adding content for the last 5 months. Like with Marie’s story, it will start to end. Updates for Dollhouse are now drawing to a close. There is a Final Update coming, stay tuned for more details!
