Tale of Two Dolls Update


There are now two Emily Dolls in each theme to liven up the atmosphere. Be wary as one tries to help you, while the other tries to kill you.

One will be walking around the theme minding her business, however, you can try to catch her for some bonuses.

The other will less playful as she doesn’t move, but stare at her for too long, and you might regret it.

Be careful as one may bait you into another.

Welcome back into the Dollhouse.

GAMEPLAY UPDATE


  • A new batch of scares added
  • Scares now trigger dynamically
  • Additional checks for more scares spawning
  • Implements a duration check to prevent consecutive execution of the same scare
  • Updated shader material to account for fade out transparencies
  • Improved tv shader effect with light flickering to make it more realistic
  • Implemented superior tv static
  • Reduced the duration by which Evelyn monster waits before spawning near a player after picking up a memory


BUG FIXES


  • Fixed a bug where some abilities are not cleaned up properly after reload


QoL UPDATE


  • Updated Memory Stations with proper audio occluders to play sound more realistically

GAMEPLAY UPDATE


  • After selecting a narrative in the narrative picker, it'll fade out first before saying "This is a Recording."


BUG FIXES


  • Fixed a bug where doodles that are too far are too transparent.
  • Fixed a bug where doodles would not clean up after death
  • Fixed a bug where doodles would not clean up after removal
  • Fixed a bug where doodles are not removed by interaction if too far away
  • Fixed a bug where dying with the safe room door open causes it to fail to close the door after reload
  • Resized the evidence picture, so it doesn't clip into the curse line on the top left of the menu


QoL UPDATE


  • Minor changes to localization sheet (eng)
  • Updated a few fonts and words in Character select to make it easier to read
  • Added a black background to The Safe UI so it's easier to read
  • Minor updates to HUD elements (so it looks more polished)
  • Dimmed the black background in a few HUD text elements so it's not so harsh
  • Abilities, Chalk, and Use Key back box now follows the ability name instead of just staying there to look more unified


MY LIBRARY UPDATE


  • Cleaned up “Edit Picture” input box so when players press “ESC”, it doesn't immediately remove the player from the edit page. Pressing ESC will cancel the edit and focus on the "No" button. Pressing Enter will focus on the “Yes” button. Pressing ESC when focused on Yes or No will immediately bring players back to the previous page (effectively hitting No.)
  • Pressing “SPACE” in the “Edit Picture” input box will not take players to the Yes button anymore
  • This menu will now display "" (in the selected language) if the Picture has no name
  • Fixed bug where deleting a picture will start up the main menu sound again

ACHIEVEMENT UPDATE


  • The game will now unlock achievements for the end of game character for each play-through prior to today.


GAMEPLAY UPDATE


  • Increased fade-out speed and distance of mannequins in MP.
  • Prevent final room from blacking out under rare conditions.
  • Added tape visuals for first-time final boss fight tape pickup dialogues.


QoL UPDATE


  • Updated lightmaps to be more aesthetically pleasing and optimized for performance.
  • Dark background added to the top and left hint messages to standardize it.
  • Analyzing backgrounds updated to match another dark background.
  • Added back backgrounds to make abilities name slightly easier to read.
  • Changed the opacity of the inventory background to be easier to read.
  • Changed, so level bar fill is behind the border and doesn't' overlap.
  • Changed levelling up a banner so the fill is behind the bars, and make the fills darker.
  • Centred the Analyzing scan icon.
  • Removed the tutorial from Script Editor.
  • Removed the tutorial from Movie Editor.
  • Removed letter spacing from all text elements from HUD for standardization.
  • Added outline for many text elements in HUD without a background to make it more readable.
  • Increased size for many text elements so it's easier to read on some smaller screens.
  • Added outlines & drop shadows for all key HUD elements to standout.
  • Reworked and reorganized a few key HUD elements for clarity.

GAMEPLAY UPDATE


  • Current character level decoration added for pause menu and hud
  • It should mannequin splash when you die to them in MP
  • Pause menu character level showing properly now
  • Script Popup no longer shows making players skip the whole segment


QoL UPDATE


  • Increased the brightness settings for all the loading screen images
  • Increased the general gameplay brightness
  • Ensured that all pop-ups throughout the game have the same text size, font and layout
  • UI tweaks for almost all UIs to look more consistent and standardized
  • Turned pause menu enhancement cards to be darker rather than brighter
  • When rebinding, cancelling with ESC button should immediately cancel it rather than having to hit it twice
  • Pause menu's "quit game" button renamed to "quit to main menu" to make it more clear what you're about to do
  • Moved the recording section in the hud to line up better with the radar section below it
  • Skill Secured Skills in the hud got resized to be the same as the other recording type icons


LANGUAGE UPDATE


  • Resized various text fields so it fits other languages better
  • Removed "Curse Mechanics" info since it's not that new anymore
  • Rebinding now show in all caps
