As we step into 2025 and gear up for the Early Access launch, it’s time to shine a spotlight on another class you’ll soon get to play.

For all the Revenant fans out there, welcome to Dev Blog #12 for Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel! This time, the focus is on the reworked and polished Revenant—a gem of a class that’s been upgraded thanks to your incredible feedback.

So, let’s dive in and see what the awakened and improved Revenant has to offer as we approach the Early Access launch!





Once a feared marksman and a skilled hunter, the Revenant was tricked into being possessed by an ancient Wolf spirit. Now bound together for eternity, the two ravenously pursue vengeance against the one who deceived them.
The Revenant is a ranged class, using his archery skills and the Wolf's enhancements to dominate the battlefield. He controls enemies, outmaneuvers foes, and unleashes devastating arrows with precision.



While the Revenant debuted during Next Fest in a prototypical state, the version releasing now is fully refined and ready to show off its complete skillset. The Revenant is all about being the ultimate archer and hunter, with a kit designed to dominate from a distance.



The most notable addition is Heart Seeker—a skill that isn’t your average cupid’s arrow. The base version fires a single heart-piercing missile, while the evolved form unleashes a devastating volley of six arrows that tear through the battlefield.



Additionally, two forgotten passives are now active:

Aimed Shots: Boosts damage from Revenant's attacks, enhancing his sharpshooter playstyle.
Soul Shards: Releases Ethereal Arrows when triggering Ghostwalk.
Finally, the Revenant's lupine companion has been rebalanced to be even more ferocious.



As a Next Fest champion, the Revenant deserves his moment in the spotlight alongside his fellow Jotunnslayers. He’s a spectral archer whose mastery of the bow is amplified by the spirit of a ghostly wolf. His versatile kit combines offense and defense:

Ethereal Arrows: Grants a chance for arrows to pierce through enemies and deal bonus damage.
Ghostwalk: Reduces damage taken during Dash by 50%.
Haunting Wolf: Summons a ghostly wolf to prey on nearby enemies.



The Revenant’s playstyle can be tailored with sub-classes for unique builds:

Undying: Focuses on survivability with Ghostwalk, healing, and even potential self-revival.
Beastmaster: Enhances the Haunting Wolf’s power and frequency.
Marksman: Turns the Revenant into a stationary rapid-fire machine, greatly boosting attack speed.
