PATCH V0.24

[h3]Attention Platform Managers,[/h3]
We are proud to announce that we have updated Drill Core to version 0.24, and managers will be able to access the following fixes and features in the demo as of now:

  • Miners will now dig the Flaming block from the safe side, if possible.
  • By receiving Priority Order, 3 closest miners will stop any other job and go to dig out the priority one.
  • Maximum amount of miners per order is now limited to 3.
  • New alternative AI for miners added as optional setting. It's an experiment from our side that can be turned it via Settings -> Gameplay -> Set Alternative Miner AI as enabled. With it miners will prioritize closest orders and will distribute less throughout the whole shaft. To send them to other part of the mine, you'll now have to get full use of priority orders.
  • You can now order workers to go back to work after retreat
[h3]Other cool features:[/h3]
  • The maximum depth has been increased to 1000m.
  • 2 Easter eggs have been added.
  • 44 new lines of the voice of announcer have been added. This is the voice of Devora Wilde, who voiced Lae'zel in Baldurs Gate 3, Tzarina Katarine in Total War: Warhammer 3 and many other great characters.
  • Added 90 miner voice sounds. Added reaction to enemies, fire, orders, priority orders.
  • Added the ability to scroll windows using the W, S, arrow up, arrow down buttons.
  • Added the ability to scroll the camera when hovering the cursor to the very top/bottom of the screen.
  • The width of the Shield turret laser depends on its hp to make it easier to understand when it will be destroyed.
  • Added sound effect if the block order has been deleted.
  • New score sound effect added.
  • A new enemy has been added. It will start appearing from a certain night.
  • Underground bugs and workers create blood particles at death.
  • You can now give priority orders to the guards not only by pressing the middle mouse button, but also by pressing the side mouse buttons.
  • Rocket launcher ability rocket does not circle around the target now.
[h3]Balance:[/h3]
  • The time for the monster to climb out of the crack now depends on the difficulty.
  • Rocket launcher ability rocket max speed increased x2.
  • The damage to blocks from the fire stream of the fire block now increases with the depth. I.e., the stream will destroy blocks at any depth at approximately the same speed.
[h3]Bug fixes:[/h3]
  • Fixed a bug where an incorrect amount of experience could be given at the end of the contract.
  • Fixed a bug where guards could ignore underground enemies after setting up a patrol point.
  • Fixed a bug where the Repair station button was not pressed when the camera was zoomed out.
  • Fixed a bug where clicking on the Factory resource collection button could open a building destruction window.
  • Fixed a bug where ore could not fall out of a Swarmlite bug.

The Playtest version goes to Demo!

Hello Drill Platform Managers!

This is a message from Drill Core Corporation HQ.
Our shareholders are super happy with Drill Core's performance during the playtest phase!

Over 40,000 new Drill Platform Managers have joined our corporation. Imagine how much more effective we will be with that many human resources! Over 2000 of you have provided extensive feedback via the survey form alone, and the Discord is buzzing with ideas and suggestions! That’s what we call exponential growth!

Thanks to you, we’ve already released 7 patches to fix bugs and improve the game’s balance. We’re so pleased with how the playtest version is working now that we’re turning it into a demo that will be available to everyone!

Here’s what you need to know:
  • Playtest Closure: The playtest closes today, May 30th, 2024.
  • Demo Release: The demo will be available tomorrow, May 31st, 2024.

Our engineers are doing their best to keep your progress safe, but, unfortunately, they can’t guarantee they will succeed.

The demo will have the same content as the playtest. We will probably release a few more mini-updates, including one that adds a proper announcer Voiceover. But these will be minor updates.
As mentioned, we’ve received a lot of feedback, and we want to focus on working on that, along with the new content we’ve planned for the Early Access release.

Updated guard icon in barracks.

Fixes:
Fixed a bug with Catalyzer buildings .
The game is now available on widescreen monitors.
Fixed a bug with defence block (with blue shields).
Rocket Launcher reloading fix.

Balance changes:
Machine Gun Watchtower damage reduced.
Rocket Watchtower damage reduced.
Laser Watchtower damage reduced.
Rocket Launcher ability radius increased, damage reduced .
Machine Gun ability damage reduced.
Exploader ability damage reduced, cooldown increased.
The destruction of buildings and turrets now costs 1 iron.

Tech reroll bug has been fixed

Updated guards icon in the HUD.
Game log has been added. So now it's easier to understand bugs on launch: (log path: C:\Users*YOUR_USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Drill_Core )
Fixed one more bug with defence block (with blue shields).
Fixed typo in the range of Shotgun turret.
Crumbling block fix.
Turret UI now shows the right reloading state after RPM has changed.

Maximum depth is 900m now (it was 400m)
Turrets upgrades rebalanced

Bug fixes:
Fixed a bug with unreachable blocks that occurred after crumbling block fell.
Fixed a bug related to the use of abilities.
Fixed bugs allowing to see the area below the level.
Fixed a bug related to laboratory upgrades.
Fixed bug with a negative resources.
Fixed bug with a shop window.

Balance:
Sprinter enemy speed increased up to 5 (it was 4.5)
Minigun turret spread increased (from 20 to 22)
Minigun turret RPM increase on target lock increased (from 14 to 16). Now it gets full RPM faster.
Poison turret projectile damage increased (from 5 to 7)
Poison turret poison damage decreased (from 8%/sec to 6%/sec)
Automatic turret cost increase (+1 iron)
Iron factory rebalanced (cost swarmlit on the higher floors)
Swarmlit factory rebalanced (cost +1.5 swarmlit)
Repair station heal amount increased (from 100 to 140).
Repair station reload time increased (from 100s to 150s).
Experience reward at the end of the game now depends on how many days you have survived. More days = more experience. But if player beats level faster then 18 days, he gets extra exp.
