Patch v0.101 is live. Balance changes.

Balance:

Dwarf carrier speed increased from 2.6 to 3.0.
Dwarf bomber explosion time decreased from 3.4 to 3.2.
Now the Eclipse event and the Polar Night event cannot occur more often than once every 5 days (before debuffs).
Chance of double event was decreased on the higher difficulties.
Arachnor hp and Ice Warden hp was increased on the higher difficulties.

[h3]Cavernous planets are a little easier now:[/h3]
Hatch block time between spawns was slightly increased on the higher difficulties.
Hatch block chance to spawn several cracks heavily reduced on the higher difficulties.
Monster Crack time to spawn slightly increased on the higher difficulties.
Lava Jet block now has maximum 3 jets instead of 4 on the Corebreaker difficulty.

[h3]Turrets balance:[/h3]
Fury turret duration of the applied fire effect was increased from 2.4 to 7 seconds.
Fury turret reload time was increased from 4.4 to 5.3 seconds.
Poison turret duration of the applied poison effect was increased from 2.1 to 9 seconds.
Poison turret reload time was increased from 2 to 3.7 seconds.
Fireworks turret range was decreased from 1000 to 850.
Automatic turret damage multiplier for enemies with more than 65% HP increased from 3 to 3.5
Drone reload time for Drones Turrets M2 has been reduced from 5 to 4 (drones shoot more rapidly).
Mining turret now has 10 mines limit instead of 7.
Mining turret' mines damage increased from 40 to 60.
Mining turret' mines explosion radius increased from 220 to 250.
Mining turret reload time increased from 6 to 13.5.
Weakening Laser Turret effect duration increased from 3 to 3.5

[h3]Abilities balance:[/h3]
Laser station damage increased from 10 to 13.
Rocket launcher(Active nighttime ability) rocket' damage increased from 30 to 35.
Turret expander now increases the firing range of turrets by 35% instead of 20%.

Drill Core is now 'Playable' on Steam Deck! đź’Ą

Greetings, Platform Managers!

The HR Department is pleased to share that Drill Core is now marked as 'Playable' on Steam Deck! This should make it easier than ever to manage your workers on-the-go, further reducing the need for a work life balance for our exemplary employees.

Whilst Drill Core is not yet fully Steam Deck verified mainly due to some text being slightly smaller on the Steam Deck, we will be working towards full verification ahead of the 1.0 Release!

Patch v0.98 is live

Features:
UI and text more readable on small resolutions (steam deck).

Bug fixes:
Fixed a bug with ore that could fall under the block at 30 fps.
Fixed a bug that could cause random events to appear more than 1 in 1 day.
Fixed a bug that could cause too many bonus technology to appear on levels.
Fixed a bug where the player could press two buttons at the same time in the main menu and two windows opened.
Fixed a bug when platform doesn't receive exp for loosing a contact

Patch v0.97 is live

Bug fixes:
  • Fixed a bug that crashed the game when loading the contract save in the version before the Dwarves, Beards and TNT update and building a structure in the last slot of the first floor.
  • Hovering Synergy turret now doesn't show reload speed.
  • Fixed a bug when the player build 4th night or day ability building.

Greetings, Platform Managers!

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the newest update for Drill Core is now available. As you may have seen in our previous company-wide communication, there are various new features now available in Drill Core which we believe will improve productivity for all employees. You can read more about these updates below, skip straight to the end of this post for the full patch notes, or simply update the game in your Steam library to enjoy them for yourself!

The Dwarf Platform

The HR Department is pleased to share that Drill Core Inc. has now entered into a strategic partnership with the Dwarves of planet Explosia. This partnership has allowed us to incorporate a whole new platform type, which can be unlocked with a new permanent upgrade, and will introduce the Dwarves into your workforce.

Of course, Dwarves will behave slightly differently to your existing workers; bomber miners spawned in through the Dwarf Platform will utilize TNT to obliterate target mining zones, and Dwarven Guards will operate at night using heavy-duty jetpacks to rise from the mines and defend the platform.

Aside from the differences in your workforce, you’ll also notice that the new Dwarf Platform will bring with it two new buildings to help you manage your employees, as well as some unique upgrades.



Icewarden Boss

Frost Planets now have a unique boss which will pose its own challenges to your employees - the Icewarden. This frosty foe has powerful shields and distinct attacks, so you’ll want to prepare your turrets with this in mind.



Planet Conditions

Each planet now has its own unique conditions which will alter how you manage your workers whilst drilling. With 33 unique conditions now added, they’ll have a range of impacts on your mining operations and will vary each time you begin a new contract - we think you’ll be up to the challenge, though, Platform Managers.

Platform Bonuses

There are now 28 individual platform bonuses for you to utilize, which can have a range of impact on both your workers and your mining operations themselves. You’ll want to optimize these bonuses to make the most of them each time you start a contract - this is Platform Management, after all!

New Technology Type

You’ll notice a new technology type that is now available to unlock whilst undertaking your contracts: Boost Technology. This new type will offer you 30 unique bonus technologies to discover as you drill.

Quality of Life Updates

Of course, we had to include some quality of life features in this update; you’ll notice improved pathfinding AI for your workers, controller support (this is still in beta), new achievements for you to unlock, and lots of bugfixes to make for the most streamlined experience possible.

This is far from everything that’s included in the update, so head to the full changelog below if you’d like to find out more, or simply update Drill Core in your Steam Library to try them out for yourself!


The Board of Directors would also like to remind you of some of the additions that have been made in previous updates to Drill Core: the introduction of the Steam Cloud saving system, windowed mode, and saving during a Contract have all been included in recent patches since Early Access release.
