Community Card Pack 2: Art Contest!

We're excited to announce a second Community Card Pack, and with it, an art contest!

We still have a massive number of card suggestions from the previous community card contest, and these six new cards are also based on those.

Like last time, we've consulted Orange Juice about a name and general art theme for each new card.

The art contest is now open until February 28, 2019!

Art can be submitted for any number of cards and any number of times. Submissions must include the tag #communitypack and the name of the Card they are meant for. The winning entries will be used on the cards, and we will work with Orange Juice to provide flavor texts to match the artwork. Finally, the new Community Card Pack (name subject to change) will be released as a free update.

Please note the theme listed on each card. This should be used as a general direction for the art. Full rules for the contest can be found at the end of the post.

List of Cards

Desperate Modification (Battle)
For this battle, roll either a natural 1 or 6 for offense, defense and evasion.
Theme: Peat fighting on a heavily modified Blue Crow.

Path Blockers (Boost)
Effect: Stock Effect (1). Choose a player. If that player moves onto a panel with a set Trap, they must stop on that panel.
Theme: Waruda members being in the way.

Accelerating Sky (Event)
Effect: For the next three chapters, all players gain +1 Evasion and -1 Defense.
Theme: SUGURI characters flying around.

Poppo Transformation (Trap)
Stock Effect (1). ATK, DEF and EVD become -1 in your next battle.
Theme: Characters transforming into Poppos.

Poppo the Snatcher (Gift)
Effect: Gain -2 Defense. Whenever passing another unit on your turn, steal [target lvl x 5] stars from them. Cannot Norma while holding this card. This card is discarded upon KO or use.
Theme: Poppo stealing stars out of another character's pocket.

Bloodlust (Gift)
Effect: Lose 1 HP at the start of your turn. Heal 1 HP for every damage you deal
Theme: Krilalaris imagining a Leo (lion) plush on a rampage.

Contest Rules
  • Create a new piece of artwork (“Entry”) that you feel fits the game 100% Orange Juice and the theme of the chosen new Card (see the list above).
  • Submission period: January 22 to February 28, 2019, 23:59 PST.
  • Entries must be added to the Artworks section of 100% Orange Juice community hub, with the tag #communitypack and name of the Card.
  • Artwork should be square in shape, or made with the consideration that a square area from it will be used in the Card.
  • Entry minimum size is 512x512 pixels.
  • Entries must be original and not contain any copyrighted material and must adhere to Steam Community guidelines. They may not contain purposeful references outside the Orange Juice games.
  • Multiple Entries are permitted, as well as Entries for several Cards.
  • Text is permitted on the artwork, in the same fashion as it is currently used in some cards.
  • A minimum of one artwork will be chosen for each Card to be used in the game when the Community Card Pack is added.
  • Fruitbat Factory reserves the right to not use any of the Entries for a given Card, if they deem none of the submissions are appropriate for it.
  • Winners will be credited in the Game Info section of the game launcher, as well as on the Card itself, as with existing cards (only after such an update where the Community Card Pack is added to the game).

Let's Build a Snow Castle Together!

The new Christmas event is here!


There's little time until Christmas, and the children want a snow castle... a big one! Only you can help make it happen!

Witness the exciting new event storyline with story by Hono and ending illustration by artist Mo! Can Nico and Arthur combine their powers with the two Santas to save the children's Christmas?

Work together with all players to reach global daily goals and unlock rewards until December 25, when the finale of the story unlocks!

The event runs until January 20, 2019, 10:00 PST. It features a new currency which can be used to redeem rewards in the Shop. Note: the currency is only valid during this event, and will be removed afterwards.

In other major news, we're introducing a new mechanic to the game:

The Arcade!


Nico and Arthur await your visit in the new Arcade section of Shop! You can currently be rewarded up to 18 arcade tokens every 3 days (3 from 1 game) from playing online, and use 3 tokens on the Pet Catcher machine for a chance to win 1 of three rarity pets. In addition, players will receive a weekly log-in bonus of 6 arcade tokens.

80% Common item
12% Uncommon pet
6% Rare pet
2% Super Rare pet

The common item drop currently gives you a stack of new Fireworks items, which lets you launch a colorful firework during a match!

The Pet Exchange machine can be used to exchange 2 of the same pet for a random alternative color version of that pet.

All the pets from the Pet Catcher are stored in the Steam Inventory, and can be traded on the Steam marketplace.

  • Christmas Event is now live until January 20! Play the new game mode to earn rewards!
  • Arcade has been added to the Shop with Pet Catcher and Pet Exchange machines. You can earn arcade tokens from playing online.

Changes
  • Arthur and Nico are now playable for owners of the 100% Orange Juice - Toy Store Pack.
  • Poppo and Natsumi now make random comments less frequently during matches.
  • Added a new section to gallery: Voices. You can play all character voices you own in this section. Suguri, QP, Marc and Kai are available for everyone to test in this section.
  • Changed the design of the pet selection screen.
  • Profanity filter has been added to the game. It can be enabled from the System tab of settings. An optional custom word filter can be used by creating a custom.txt file in \language folder and entering blacklisted terms on each line.


Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that would make Jonathan Rush's -1 DEF effect be kept after a battle.
  • Fixed a bug where Passionate Research wouldn't show the correct card when there's only one left in the deck.
  • Fixed bombs set on home panels by the Bomber event turning invisible when about to explode.
  • Fixed music not playing when different characters level up in a short time.
  • Fixed all cards set by players being treated as part of the deck regardless of how they were obtained.
  • Fixed a visual glitch with Naths's shark costume in certain poses.


Balance
  • Natsumi's passive heal now gives 5 stars for each other player healed (up from Lvl x stars).
  • Chicken's recovery value changed to 3. (Down from 4)
  • Saki's recovery value changed to 4. (Down from 5)
  • Kae's defense value changed to -1 (Down from 0) and recovery value changed to 4. (Down from 5)
  • Miusaki's evade value changed to 0 (Down from 1)
  • Robo Ball and Seagull now lose 1/4 stars (and chocolate) in battles (down from 1/2).
  • Evil Mastermind card effect changed: Draw a trap card from the deck. Set all trap cards in hand on random panels. If not holding any trap cards, draw 3 from the deck and set a random one on your current panel.

Christmas Repeats Once More!


We are now rerunning the 2017 100% Orange Juice Christmas event! Help Santa get back presents from the Waruda!

The rerun will last 8 days and end on December 12, 10:00 PST. Progress on the event has been considerably sped up. The event has also been updated with instructions on the objective.

The rerun of the 2017 Christmas event has been updated with new reindeer and Christmas costumes for those missing them (reindeer costumes are given automatically if user has unlocked them previously, while Christmas costumes can be earned or bought in shop).

Moreover, there are new bonus items available after completing the event!

Note that you can reroll completed non-event challenges into event challenges.

The event is part of 100% Orange Juice version 1.29.3.

Mei and Natsumi Bring the Halloween Party!

Halloween event is now active in 100% Orange Juice until November 16, 10:00 PST! Moreover, two new characters, Mei and Natsumi, are now available to play for owners of the Mei & Natsumi Character Pack!

The 2018 Halloween event, called "Trick and Treat", has an all-new story written by Hono, and brings in a slew of new cosmetic unlocks! Ending illustration for the event is drawn by Kagawa Yusaku.

100% Orange Juice - Mei & Natsumi Character Pack adds 2 new, fully voiced characters from developer Orange Juice's games. Meet the school friend duo Mei and Natsumi from the QP Shooting universe! This DLC also adds a Red & Blue pet to be used with any character.

Cost: 0, Level: 1
When holding this card, gain +1 ATK, DEF and EVD in battle. On discard or KO, this card is removed from the game.

Hyper: White Christsmasher (Event)
Cost: 10, Level: 2
Deal 2 damage to players on the same panel as you. For each player KO'd, gain a win and KO'd Player's Lvl x5 stars. When carrying "Red & Blue", this card becomes "True White Christmasher".

True White Christsmasher (Event)
Cost: 20, Level: 3
Deal 4 damage to players within 1 panel of you. For each player KO'd, gain 2 wins and KO'd Player's Lvl x10 stars. When not carrying "Red & Blue", this card becomes "White Christsmasher".

Natsumi

-1/+0/+0, 5 HP, REC: 5
If not KO'd and standing on the same panel with other players at the end of your turn, each unit on the panel recovers 1 HP. For each other player you heal, gain their Lvl x stars.

Hyper: Cooking Time (Event)
Cost: Level x5, Level: 1
All players recover your Lvl x HP. Gain 5 stars for each HP recovered.

Changes:

  • Halloween event is now live - trick and treat players to collect candy to complete it! Ending illustration by Kagawa Yusaku.
  • Red & Blue pet can be selected by owners of Mei & Natsumi Character Pack
  • Added Gallery menu under Player Info. Players can now view previously seen CGs and BGMs here. More features will be added down the line.
  • Various new buttons' texts can now be translated into different languages.
  • Character voices are now loaded differently, resulting in lower memory usage.
  • Battle card selection is now skipped if player is unable to play any battle cards. If neither player can select battle cards (but are holding cards), there's a short delay before card selection is confirmed to hide whether players can use cards or not.
  • CGs are no longer stretched to the screen but follow aspect ratio.
  • Cards in binder are now stacked and show the owned number in the corner.


Fixes:
  • Pirate Crew Member no longer appears when selecting a random character.
  • Pirate Crew Member is now displayed as an enemy type card
  • Fixed a bug with Combat Flight achievement.
  • Captain Tequila now counts toward a specific achievement of Kyousuke.
