Announcing my new game: Mining Merchant!

Hey everyone!

Great news; today I'm announcing my new game, Mining Merchant! As the title suggests, this is indeed a spin-off of (Super) Mining Mechs, but this time the focus is on crafting and shopkeeping.

In Mining Merchant, your uncle’s once-thriving jewelry shop is crumbling, and it’s your job to bring it back to life! Mine precious ore, smelt it into shiny jewelry, add rare gemstones and sell to every customer who walks in. Mine by day, sell by night, solo or in co-op, and become a successful merchant!

You can watch the new gameplay trailer below, but before you do, please add the game to your Steam wishlist to be notified when it launches!
Gameplay loop
In Mining Merchant, the gameplay loop consists of two core phases, which you can play at your own pace.

Each day starts with the "mining phase", in which you explore underground caverns and mine valuable resources in the traditionally satisfying and chill Mining Mechs style. Those resources are then crafted into jewelry to sell in your shop. There are several crafting stations that make up the process, but I’ll go into more detail about that in a future post.

Once you’ve finished crafting, you return to the shop to enter the "shopkeeping phase". Stock your shelves, open your doors, and start selling! Customers will come in looking for specific pieces and some might even request custom orders!

The money you earn can be used to upgrade your shop, your mechs, and more, prepping you for even bigger hauls the next day!
Why Mining Merchant?
The reason I've decided to go in this direction is because over the years, I’ve gotten a ton of feedback from the community, and one thing stood out: repetitiveness. Both Mining Mechs and Super Mining Mechs are grindy games, and while many players enjoy the relaxing vibe, I think we can all agree that a little more variety wouldn’t hurt ;)

So while Mining Merchant is still primarily a mining game, the crafting and shopkeeping phases shake up the formula and add something fresh.
Please wishlist!
I hope the game caught your interest! If it did, please consider adding the game to your Steam wishlist so you’ll get a notification when it launches, and it really helps me out!

New DLC is now available!🎉
Hey everyone!
Hope you're all doing great! Big day today; after a free content update to the base game yesterday, I'm now launching 2 new DLCs; one for the original Mining Mechs and one for Super Mining Mechs.

Now you might be wondering "do I really need these DLCs?", and the answer to that is "absolutely not". However - my wife told me to convince you anyways because she would like me to keep paying my part of our mortgage. So here are 5 reasons you should get the new DLCs:

Reason 1: They're fun. (I promise)
Reason 2: You can tame this jumpy camel:
Reason 3: You can dig upwards in a submarine mech:
Reason 4: There's a 20% launch discount, so they cost less than a Starbucks coffee.
Reason 5: They're really fun and it's the weekend guys I mean come on.

I can hardly imagine you're not fully convinced after this amazing marketing effort, but in case you'd like to read more about the Camel Chaos DLC you can check out this post, or if you'd like to read more about the Toxic Treasures DLC check out this post. Otherwise, you can wishlist / purchase them below:

Oh and since people have been asking me to release the Super Mining Mechs OST ever since launch, I've decided to release that today as well:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3487300/Super_Mining_Mechs_Soundtrack/

Lastly, I should mention there's an extra discount for people who already own the base games. This bundle will get you an additional 30% (yes, on top of the 20% launch discount) on everything: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/46085/Mining_Mechs__Complete_Franchise/

And as always - thank you all for your continued support! -Barry

New base game content ahead of DLC release!
Hey everyone!
Hope you're all doing great! With the upcoming DLC content planned for Friday, I wanted to make sure there's something new to play in the base game as well. So today I'm showcasing a (free) base game content update that's coming tomorrow, one day ahead of the upcoming DLCs.

Tomorrow's content update includes the following:
 • 2 new maps
 • A new 'rock' type
 • 10 Trading cards
 • 5 New achievements
New maps
There are two new maps, one on planet Frostera and one on planet Vulcanar. These are the fourth maps on each planet and will unlock after completing the third maps. They also include additional mines so you can build new mining sites for additional passive resources.
New 'rock' type
You might be wondering how a new type of rock could possibly be interesting, however, this rock is actually diggable! You'll encounter these rocks on Frostera and Vulcanar. Although you can dig right through them without the need of any bombs, they will freeze or overheat your mech, so you need to cool down for a bit until you can continue. Of course the overheating and freezing passives will help you cool down much faster!
Trading Cards
Starting from tomorrow, Super Mining Mechs will have Steam trading cards enabled, which means you will randomly find cards as you play the game. Turn them into an awesome badge to unlock Steam wallpapers and emoji's to spice up your Steam profile.
New achievements
By popular request, I'm adding a handful of achievements as well. I got asked many times to add new achievements in the DLC, but sadly it's not possible to add seperate achievements to DLC content. This means that if I would add achievements that require the DLC content, it would become impossible for players to get 100% of the achievements without purchasing the DLC. I don't think it's fair to force people to get the DLC just to get the achievements, so I won't be adding any new achievements tied to the new DLC content. However, of course it's still possible to expand the range of achievements of the base game, so I'm adding 5 new achievements!
Please Wishlist!
Lastly - please don't forget to wishlist the upcoming DLC / soundtrack. It helps out a lot for the Steam algorithm and makes sure you get notified when they launch this Friday. This way you won't miss the launch discount!
