The playtest is getting closer, and the island is heating up. Every day brings a new threat, a new fight, and a new chance to prove who the real predator is. It's for moments like these that we've overhauled the melee combat system. Here’s what awaits you in the updated version.
The island's zombies are a serious threat - they attack, spit, and... explode.
They even cooperate, using special attack tactics!
To stand a chance against these surprisingly smart zombies, a massive arsenal alone isn't enough (by the way, we talked about our arsenal here, go check it out). Each survivor's personal skills are crucial.
[h3]Dodges[/h3]
Agility is your greatest weapon against the clumsy horde! Dodge projectiles, explosions, and zombie claws. Besides being obviously effective in any combat situation, it also looks pretty cool:
[h3]Counterattacks[/h3]
If dodging fails, you can save yourself from a zombie's claws by parrying its attack. Timing is key - the right moment will be indicated by a prompt over the attacking zombie's head.
This maneuver leaves your character vulnerable to other attacks, but it's worth it: a successful counterattack instantly kills the zombie. The right tactic of singling out and targeting zombies one by one makes the counterattack an indispensable tool in a survivor's arsenal.
