Small Content Update 1.1.2

We’re excited to bring you an update with important improvements to save files and exciting new content! Please ensure you have the latest version (1.1.2) of the game.



List of Changes:
  • Added a new mini-biome. The new biome features fresh tiles, including wave-based enemy battles and a new boss tile. It has a 50% chance of replacing the Mushroom biome.
  • Added new units: Gunner, Walking Coffin, Burning Skull.
  • Changed the save system. We’ve updated the save file location to fix issues with OneDrive and other cloud services. The new save directory is now located at: AppData/LocalLow/KORO GAMES/Necroking instead of the old location Documents/KORO GAMES/Necroking.
    The transfer happens automatically. If you use Steam Cloud, please select the latest local save after the transfer. Also, the game now automatically creates backup saves when you enter battle or the main menu.

Update 1.0.7 and Community Items!

We’re excited to bring you a new patch with bug fixes, balance changes, and several improvements. Please ensure you have the latest version (1.0.7) of the game.



List of changes:
  • Reverted the Slingshot Skeleton to its original stats and abilities.
  • Changed the ability of the Demon unit. It now gains +3 strength for each hit on the Totem, with the maximum possible strength increased to 17.
  • Increased the strength of the Spider Priest and Spider Wizard by 1.
  • Reduced the mana cost of the Spider Wizard from 10 to 5.
  • Reduced the sound volume for the Totem.
  • Reduced the sound volume for the Handful of Skulls.

Also, we're excited to let you know that community items are now available, including 3 profile backgrounds and 5 emoticons.

Major Balance Update 1.0.5

We’re exited to release another patch for Necroking, focused on addressing bugs and making key balance adjustments. Please ensure you have the latest version (1.0.5) of the game.



List of balance changes:
  • Increased the difficulty of the King.
  • Increased the chance of Mound (meta shop) appearing on the map.
  • Reduced the percentage of lost units when fleeing.
  • Cultist: Maximum strength reduced from 10 to 7; Rune cost increased from 1 to 4.
  • Rider: Strength set to 5; a new ability grants +2 strength when moving forward and –2 strength when moving backward.
  • Vampire: Strength reduced from 9 to 8, soul cost increased from 6 to 7.
  • Scapegoat: Mana cost increased from 2 to 6; added a new ability that makes it a priority target for attacks.
  • Spider Priest: Card draw per turn increased from +1 to +3.
  • Cocoon: Gained a reusable ability.
  • Spider Prince: Gained an attack ability.
  • Slingshot Skeleton: Strength reduced from 2 to 1; now gains a movement ability, allowing it to move to the next zone if there are no enemies in either its current zone or the next one.
  • Wizard: Strength reduced from 8 to 7.
  • Healer: Mana cost reduced from 10 to 7; soul cost reduced from 2 to 1.
  • Summoner: Mana cost reduced from 10 to 7.
  • Swamp Spirit: Starting mana cost increased from 20 to 40.
  • Soul Thief: Treasure cost increased from 140 to 160; crafting recipe changed to “Swordsman + Restless Ghost + Soul Orb” (was “Swordsman + Soul Orb”).
  • Summoner Mage: Strength increased from 2 to 8.
  • Demon: Strength gained from Soul Totem increased from +1 to +2; maximum boost reduced from 15 to 14; spawn zones expanded from 1 and 2 to 1, 2, and 3.
  • Soul Totem: Strength increased from 1 to 5; soul cost reduced from 2 to 1; spawn zones adjusted from 1, 2, 3, and 4 to 1, 2, and 3.
  • Soul Bomb: Damage increased from 3 to 5.
Other changes:
  • Fixed an issue with the dialogue window freezing after completing quests.
  • Removed some unused settings from the game.

First Update 1.0.4

We’re excited to bring you the first patch for Necroking, focused on balancing gameplay and enhancing the overall player experience. Please ensure you have the latest version (1.0.4) of the game.



List of changes:
  • Increased starting bones from 14 to 20 in expedition mode and from 12 to 15 in balanced mode.
  • Improved targeting logic for ranged units. They now have the same attack priority as melee units.
  • Improved the deckbuilding tutorial.
  • Changed the Mad Scientist’s behavior. He no longer has the skill that makes him the last to be attacked and will now actively protect his creations in combat.
  • Changed the text when starting a new run. It no longer incorrectly mentions save loss and now accurately reflects the intended meaning.
  • Added a new visual and text notification when the player lacks supplies for an escape attempt.
  • Added new VFX to indicate when the player doesn’t have enough cards for battle.
  • Fixed an issue with infinite loading in the game.
  • Fixed an issue with battles hanging.
  • Fixed misspellings in tooltips.
We also want to share our plans for future updates:
  • Bug fixes and both major and minor improvements.
  • Controller support (PS, Xbox, Nintendo).
  • Steam Deck verification. We plan to receive full Steam Deck full compatibility check mark after adding controller support. For now, you can play Necroking on Steam Deck using the trackpads.
  • New mini-biome and units.
  • New Game+ mode.

This new turn-based roguelite also takes inspiration from deckbuilders and real-time strategy games to create a tactical and replayable experience.
