2025 is here, and I’m thrilled to kick off the year with some exciting news for Nautical Survival! The demo has just been updated with brand-new content to keep your adventures fresh and thrilling.

Meet the Otter 🦦
Joining us right from the alpha builds, the Otter is back and ready to join your crew! This adorable yet fierce mascot thrives in the darkest depths, bringing a unique high-risk, high-reward playstyle to your adventures.



Introducing the Flaregun 🎆
What better way to celebrate the New Year than with a bang? The brand-new Flaregun is now available in the demo! This weapon features explosive homing projectiles, igniting enemies while adding a festive touch to your arsenal.

UI and Balance Updates ✨
This version also brings a suite of UI updates to improve readability and provide a smoother experience. Additionally, visual upgrades and balance adjustments have been implemented to ensure that the seas feel even more immersive (especially check out the fancy new parallax effect).

[h3]BULLET HEAVEN FEST WAS HEAVEN![/h3]

Thank you so much for joining the second Nautical Survival Open Alpha! The event has been great and I've gathered a lot of meaningful feedback. I've analyzed the data from your feedback forms and you seem to be enjoying the game quite a bit! There are few areas that perform slightly worse than others and I'm already implementing solutions and improvements for them.

Meanwhile, I'm excited to share that we just crossed 4,000 wishlists! Not much more to say about this, thank you so much for showing support, this is currently the single most important thing about the journey towards releasing the game on time. The goal is to cross 7,000 and I'm feeling confident we can actually do it!

[h3]We're starting out second open alpha RIGHT NOW!

Between Dcember 7-11 you'll be able to play the Alpha version of the game FOR FREE. Click the Request Access button in the main page and you'll be granted access to the Open Alpha! Can you survive long enough and defeat THE KRAKEN?

[h2]Meet THE COWBOY[/h2]
One of the key parts of Nautical Survival is Crew Members From fearless explorers to expert combatants, and even the adorable (yet vicious) Otter, each crew member brings a unique skillset that can shift the tides in your favor.

Today I'm highlighting a new Crew member that you can hire this open alpha - THE COWBOY! The cowboy is a true veteran of the seas, and features various promotions that provide to your damage output:

• Swashbuckler: +10% damage per unit the closer you are to the enemy (max +30%).
  
• Savvy: +30% maritime weapons damage.
  
• Bombardier: +20% Explosion Damage
  
• Vengeful: Up to +50% damage modifier the closer your current hull health is to 50%

If you wonder about those ability names or that hat - don't worry about it, they really are a cowboy.


[h2]More Alpha Features[/h2]
I've listened to your feedback, so here are some new features that were implemented to improve your experience with the game:

• Level size increase: The level size is now larger, to allow for more exploration and less constraint.
  
• Weapon Rarities: Weapons are now assigned either Common, Rare or Epic, which affects their chance to appear in the shop.
  
• Boat Stats Chance: The chance to receive specific stats is now tied to the starting stats of the boat you're playing as. The higher it is, the higher the chance to receive it as an option when leveling up.
  
• Garage healing area Increase: The Garage healing area now very slightly increases for each upgrade.
  
• General UI improvements and Bug Fixes

[h2]7 boats, 11 crew members, 11 weapons, 15 enemies, 3 bosses, 5 buildings, 8 curses, and more!

[h2]Open Alpha Dec 7-11![/h2]
Our first announcement for the event is that between Dec 7-11 Nautical Survival will have its second OPEN ALPHA! In the meantime, have a great time with our broadcasters on the game's Steam Page!
