1,200 Wishlists and New Control Scheme! 🐙

We just reached 1,200 wishlists! Thank you for checking out the game during the Automobile and Raid Survivors festivals, I hope you enjoy the demo! I have some cool updates for you, so buckle up.

  • New Feature: Casual Controls: You can now choose between "Expert Mode" tank controls and a new and simpler "Casual Mode" control scheme. Casual Mode is the default, but you can switch back in the Controls menu.
  • Performance: Fixed several performance issues that caused severe frame drops for some players.
  • Factory: Increased coin generation rates significantly.
  • Stats: The Speed stat now provides a greater speed boost.
  • Deckhand: Rope Master now increases Speed instead of Steering.
  • Visuals: Damage numbers now appear above the boat when hit.
  • Store: Fixed an issue where the store didn’t prioritize player-owned weapons correctly.
  • Enemies: Updated enemy stats and wave compositions.
  • Goal Trials: Adjusted Goal Trials to avoid being timed too close to the end of a wave.

I'm proud to announce that Nautical Survival made it into TWO Steam festivals!

Weapon stacking now available! 🦈

I've just rolled out a significant update for the Nautical Survival demo!
  • New feature: Duplicate Weapons: you can now purchase additional copies of the same weapon once it has reached its 5th and final upgrade level.
  • Camera: the camera is now more responsive, especially during quick boat direction changes.
  • Shotgun: projectiles damage reduced from 6 to 5

Quality of life update! 🦑

[h2]Ahoy, Sailors![/h2]
We got some much needed quality of life features now available in the demo.

New features:
  • Tooltips: you may now hover over UI items to learn about them.
  • Unlocks Menu: shows all Boats, Crew, and Weapons available in the demo.
Updates:
  • Deckhand: Handyman: fixing +0.6 hp/s. Ropemaster: steering +45°/s. Gunmate: attack damage +10%, attack rate +6%, attack range +15%.
  • Pistol: levels 0-4: knockback 5. level 5: knockback 10.
  • Harpoon: cooldown 0.8s. levels 0-4: damage 12 > 18 > 24 > 30 > 36.
  • Level: The level is now surrounded by unpassable rocks.
  • Flag Races: Increased flag pointers size for better readability.
  • Minor UI and sound fixes and improvements.

The Nautical Survival demo is LIVE! ⚓

I'm happy to announce that the Nautical Survival demo is now live on Steam.

Demo features:
  • Three playable boats, including the Bass Boat and two more unlockable vessels.
  • Five crew members, including the Fisherman, the Deckhand and the Navigator, plus two secret ones you'll have to unlock.
  • A bunch of cool weapons. There's a good mix.
  • Three upgradeable buildings - the Lighthouse, the Shop and the Factory.
  • Too many fishes, squids, turtles, swordfish, and of course sharks.
  • One boss battle.

Thank you to everyone who has wishlisted, playtested, and helped spread the word. I'm having the time of my life developing this game and I couldn't have done this without you. Can't wait for Early Access!
