Thank you all very much for keeping up with Doll Impostor and sorry for the inactivity. Iâve been focused on other projects that have taken some time, along with vacations, but now Iâm ready to get back to a few updates!
Before starting, I want to remind you that the last release we are making is

This game is based on stories and conversations generated entirely with offline Artificial Intelligence. You can imagine your own conversation, create characters, etc. I also started another game called
Cognitio, which I will resume in 2025, along with other projects I have planned for 2025.

CO-OP
First, we will start with a lite version of co-op, which will bring some basic things such as basic multiplayer gameplay + Steam lobby invitations (Your Shelter will be the Lobby) and you will be able to see the hostâs decorations, including the caravan in each map (1-4 players) [Initially, only the host will be able to interact with the computer].
Additionally, there will be a small mini-game (Guess who) with dolls in your shelter!
In future updates, more content will be added to co-op, such as: Chat, Voice chat, Session search, Create public sessions with filters, Join them, etc.!
The reason for splitting the CO-OP updates is to ensure there arenât too many open fronts in case problems arise.Initially, this first version of CO-OP should be ready in beta mode by November, depending on the workload I have recently.
FUTURE UPDATES
[h2]Impostor Mode[/h2]
I also plan to release a new game mode alongside Classic and Race, which will be the âImpostorâ mode. This mode will be 3 players against 1 impostor. The basic gameplay would be:
1. An impostor is chosen automatically among the 4 players.
2. The impostor is randomized (like a regular match).
3. The screen indicates who the impostor is (for all players).
4. A turn-based game begins, first at 00:00, the impostor starts to carry out their strategy (having a few seconds to do so) while the investigators are asleep.
5. When the time reaches 0, the impostor (Player) wonât be able to do anything, only watch what happens around.
6. The investigators must now analyze the evidence and discard options to identify the impostor. If they donât close the door, the player can escape and eliminate them.
7. Once the investigatorsâ turn ends (also timed), they all must sleep. When they sleep, the next hour will pass, and theyâll be in the caravan while the impostor can move again.
8. By voting, the investigators can make their final decision about who the impostor is during any hour in their turn. This would end the game as a win or loss depending on whether they were correct.
9. Once finished, a new round will start with a new impostor (who wasnât previously chosen).
10. If all players have already played as impostor, there will be a vote to either replay the map or choose a different one.
Some details of this new mode include that the impostor will have limitations based on their character. For example, they may be a character that doesnât like to move, so they wonât be able to relocate, or if they donât like to move others, they wonât be able to move other dolls. This will be based on each mapâs criteria.
Even if the investigators set traps, the impostor will be forced to react, possibly automatically.
[h2]Cabin in the Woods[/h2]
The map that was announced when the last one was released will come with all the new content, meaning it will be adapted for Halloween events, Race Mode, Impostor Mode, etc.
Also, the previous Leaderboard winner, Phat, named Bamico as the next doll, so itâs still pending. Another competition will be held in the new map to determine the name of the next mapâs doll (probably the toy factory).
This is expected in 2024, but there are new modes and maps planned for 2025!
