Get Civilization 6 with all DLC for £42 in its new Anthology edition

Sid Meier's Civilization 6 has a whole lot of extra content. Vikings, zombies, natural disasters and Australia are but a few new additions the strategy game has seen since its initial release in 2016, and today you can nab it all in a helpful and well-priced bundle. The Civilization 6 Anthology contains the base game as well all the DLC packs and expansions, which would normally be £143 bought individually. That's a lot of Civ 6 indeed.

You have one month to get all of Civilization 6 for just $50

Ever since Civilization VI concluded its New Frontier season pass - which offered a fixed schedule of mini expansions and free updates across a 12-month period - we've all been wondering what's coming next.

Will we get another season pass? Another big expansion? Civilization 7? In the short term at least, the answer appears to be: none of the above. Developer Firaxis and publisher 2K have announced the Civilization VI Anthology, which is an all-in-one collection of all Civ 6 DLC. Available from later today (June 10), it includes both major expansions, the scenario packs from the 4X game's first year, as well as everything from the New Frontier Pass.

Better yet, until July 8 this anthology is available for an introductory price of $49.99 / £39.99. That's over $150 / £100 worth of Civ 6, for basically the cost of the New Frontier pass. Madness. This anthology might also signify that we're entering Civ 6's twilight. The big April 2021 patch may not be the last free update, but it seems weird to release a bundle like this if Firaxis is planning to release more add-ons.

Civilization fans are discussing who the next narrator should be

One of the best things about Civilization is the narration. Whether it's the quote that gets read whenever you unlock a new tech, or the intro movies that set the scene for the 4X game's compulsive 'one more turn' loop, Firaxis has chosen some excellent companions for strategy fans across the years.

Civilization VI is currently narrated by Sean Bean - who was the focus of some major community appreciation a couple of months ago - but we've also been graced by the voice talents of William Morgan Sheppard in Civ 5, and Leonard Nimoy in Civ 4. Recently, fans on the Civ subreddit have been discussing who else would be a good voice for the strategy game - especially as we consider the possibility of a Civilization 7.

The most upvoted suggestion is of course David Attenborough, although strong contenders arise in Morgan Freeman, Keith David, James Earl Jones, and even Patrick Stewart. There have been some suggestions for a lead female narrator as well, which would be a welcome change for the series. Natasha Loring currently provides the voice for the advisor in Civilization VI, as well as the narration for the diplomatic victory video that was introduced in Gathering Storm.

Humble's June Choice games include Civilization 6 Platinum Edition

The June Choice bundle from Humble is now available, and the headline game is none other than Civilization VI, one of the best 4X games on the market. That's not all, though - this is the platinum edition of Civilization VI, which includes the Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions as well as six civilization and scenario DLC packs.

The June Choice bundle is $12, and along with Civilization VI, it includes social horror game Secret Neighbor, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse, Worms Rumble (with the Legends Pack DLC), startup-themed roguelike game Going Under, Panzer Paladin, Milky Way Prince - The Vampire Star, zombie survival game Desolate, Ikenfell, Paw Paw Paw, Effie, and Disjunction.

With no disrespect intended to the rest of the games in this month's bundle, it's safe to say the Civilization VI Platinum Edition is the Big Game for June. The Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions both made exciting changes to the established Civilization formula, and they're necessary for playing many of the best Civ 6 mods.

Please look at these extremely cursed Civilization 6 horsemen

No game is ever truly free of visual glitches. If you spend an amount of time in any game's community spaces, a favourite thing to share is amusing or notable visual hiccups that can occur. These trigger for a whole host of reasons, the most common of which being strange or unusual interactions between the game's software and the hardware in your machine. Mods can also cause issues, depending on what they change.

Civilization VI, despite the fine-tuned polish that's come from five years of active development, is no exception. I enjoy keeping an eye on spaces like the Civ subreddit - it's thrown up everything from crazy tile yields, to the best worst (or worst best) city placement I've ever seen. It also provided this incredibly cursed image of a horseman unit.

As you can see, it's missing quite a few things. Namely the armour, helmets, and weapons for the human riders. Oh, and their actual bodies. The horses are also missing their bridle gear. User AkihabaraAccept is not sure what might be causing the glitch. It could be mod related, but they report they're not using any mods that interact with this unit specifically.
