Undusted: Letters from the Past is Available Now!

[p][/p][p][/p][p]🌻Hello everyone![/p]
After a long journey, Undusted has finally been released today!
[p][/p][p]It’s been more than a year and a half of development filled with ups and downs, and I can’t express how happy I am to finally share this moment with you all.[/p][p][/p][p]Now, you can experience the bittersweet story of Adora and her family on Steam. Along your journey, you’ll also feel the quiet satisfaction of polishing forgotten objects until they shine again.[/p][p][/p][p]Why has Adora returned to her family’s home only now? What stories lie behind each item? [/p][p]As you focus on the textures, sounds, and sensations created by different tools and materials, you’ll begin to uncover their hidden memories.[/p][p]
[/p]
To celebrate the release, our three core team members would like to share a few words.
[p]
Yoonjeong (Producer, Director, Lead Artist)[/p]
 • [p]I can’t believe how time has flown. What started as a “six-month project” ended up taking 22 months to finally meet the world. It’s truly an emotional moment for me in so many ways. There were countless times when I wanted to give up on the game, but every time, the reactions from players and the encouragement from people around me helped me keep going. I want to sincerely thank everyone who offered words that were sometimes harsh but always healing.[/p]
 • [p]How many people will this game reach? I created Undusted with one conviction, “If I were a player, I would love this mechanic and story.” And I believed that somewhere out there, there must be people who would resonate with it too. I truly hope that person is you.[/p]
 • [p]And… how many people in the world get the chance to work with their favorite publisher? I’m so happy I got to work with Toge Productions. Their passion and care for the game moved me deeply, and I’d like to take this moment to express my heartfelt gratitude.[/p]
[p][/p][p] Kyeongwoo (Game Designer, Technical Artist, Artist)[/p]
 • [p]We've been seeing others play the demo at offline exhibits. It's been a joy watching players find their own way of fun and challenge even in similar situations, and leave with genuine interests and anticipations. I hope everyone trying our full game also find it enjoyable and memorable.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Minyoung (Programmer, Game Designer)[/p]
 • [p]A game about cleaning objects... when we first started, I worried the mechanic might feel too simple. Because of that, we made sure to focus entirely on achieving the most pleasant cleaning sensation possible, repeating development and testing over and over again. Even now, I sometimes find myself turning on the game just to polish things, and I hope players will feel the same quiet satisfaction too.[/p]
 • [p]Since we began in late 2023, this game has marked both the end of my teenage years and the beginning of my twenties. It was my first real development experience, and while I had a lot to learn, our producer and many colleagues helped me grow — both as a developer and as a person.[/p]
[p][/p]
We’re sincerely grateful to everyone who helped us reach this moment.
[p]As mentioned in our previous devlog, the feedback we received from the community has been an incredible source of inspiration and growth.[/p][p]In fact, the “Wrap Up” button wouldn’t have existed without your ideas! (Otherwise, the game might have been much more hardcore!)[/p][p][/p][p]Now, it’s your turn! [/p][p]Pick up your tools, polish each item, and experience the touching story of Adora and her family.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Undusted: Letters from the Past is out now!
[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p][p]You can also follow us on social media![/p][p]🐦https://x.com/undustedgame[/p][p]📷 https://www.instagram.com/undustedgame/[/p]

Devlog #2: Art & Music of Undusted

[p][/p][p][/p][p]🌻Hello everyone! Welcome to our second devlog.[/p][p]This is Yoonjeong, the game director, producer, and lead artist of the game.[/p][p]The release date is just around the corner now, and I can’t help but feel both nervous and excited![/p][p][/p]
Today, I’d like to talk about the art and music of Undusted.
[p]Of course, every part of the game is important, but art and sound have always been at the very heart of what we wanted to create.[/p][p][/p][p]Since our team is quite small, two of our core members were responsible for almost all of the art. From portraits and concept art to modeling, textures, and even animation, just the two of them handled it all. (It was a lot of work, but also a joyful process!)[/p][p][/p][p]As for music, it was composed by my dear and longtime friend, Dongmyeong Kim, who, as always, created such beautiful tracks. One of our proudest pieces is the vocal song included in the game, with lyrics written by him as well![/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Behind the Scenes of the Art
[p][/p][p](Undusted in a post-apocalyptic world)[/p][p][/p][p]It might be hard to imagine now, but in its very early stages, Undusted was actually set in a post-apocalyptic world. The original concept was that, after humanity had disappeared, new life forms born on Earth would clean and collect human belongings.[/p][p][/p][p]This came about because many of the objects in Undusted were designed to look extremely dusty, broken, or worn-out… and we wanted a more “believable” reason for why they were in such a state.[/p][p][/p][p]But here’s the thing: objects always hold personal stories and cherished memories. That’s the part we wanted to focus on more. We wanted to create a game where, by cleaning objects, players could naturally discover forgotten or hidden stories. That’s how our protagonist, Adora, was born.[/p][p][/p][p]Still, if we ever get the chance, I’d love to revisit the post-apocalyptic Undusted concept one day. It’s an idea I still find fascinating![/p][p][/p][p][/p]
The Music of Undusted
[p][/p][p]As I mentioned, most of the music in the game was composed by Dongmyeong.[/p][p]Among the many tracks, one of the most important is the vocal song.[/p][p][/p][p]Because it holds such a significant place in the game, finding the right vocalist was crucial.[/p][p]That’s when Dongmyeong shared a YouTube link with us.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]It was a cover of Dear Theodosia by Solens Kriger.[/p][p][/p][p]The moment we listened, we knew that this was the voice and tone we had been searching for. Dongmyeong reached out, and to our delight, she gladly agreed to work with us.[/p][p][/p][p]Although we live very far apart physically, the collaboration went incredibly smoothly.[/p][p]Every time I listened to her recordings, it felt like watching the song I had imagined slowly come to life.[/p][p]Such a joyful process![/p][p][/p][p]The vocal track she sang for Undusted has become one of my personal favorites in the game.[/p][p]It makes me feel so many emotions at once: sorrow, warmth, hope.[/p][p]I can’t wait for you all to hear this beautiful piece soon![/p][p][/p][p][/p]
You can also check out more of her amazing work here:
[p]👉 https://solenskriger.carrd.co/[/p][p][/p]
And if you’d like to listen to more from our composer,

Dongmyeong Kim, you can find his albums here:
[p]👉 https://soundcloud.com/kimdongmyeong/albums[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Want to See More Behind the Scenes?
[p]If you’d like to dive deeper into the art and music of Undusted,[/p][p]we’ll be releasing an Artbook and Soundtrack DLC alongside the game.[/p][p][/p][p]They’re filled with our creative process and stories behind the scenes.[/p][p]We worked hard on them, and we hope they bring you as much joy as the game itself.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
The release date is almost here — October 13!
[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]We can’t wait to meet you again on launch day.[/p][p]Thank you so much for your support![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]You can also follow us on social media![/p][p]🐦https://x.com/undustedgame[/p][p]📷 https://www.instagram.com/undustedgame/[/p][p][/p][p] [/p]
Join the community!
[p][/p]
A short message from us 💌
With the release just around the corner, our game director, producer, and lead artist, Yoonjeong Choi, wanted to share a few heartfelt words with you!

“I feel both excited and nervous. My biggest hope is that those who have been waiting for Undusted won’t be let down, and that it can be a game where many people find comfort and joy. We put a lot of effort into making every interaction, especially the sound design, deeply satisfying. If you play while paying attention to the sounds, I think you’ll enjoy it even more.

“And unlike other cleaning games, Undusted blends objects and narrative very closely together. As you clean, the story naturally unfolds, so players who enjoy emotional storytelling will likely find it a meaningful experience.

“Since we first opened Undusted’s Steam store page, people have continuously discovered the game, played the demo, and shared their feedback. Those reactions have had a huge influence on development, and we’re truly grateful for that, and I hope we can give back with a game that feels truly worthwhile.”

If you haven’t tried it yet, the demo is available! ✨
Try the Undusted: Letters from the Past demo while you wait for the full release. Cozy up, relax, and join Adora as she cleans, restores, and polishes cherished objects from her past.

Devlog #1: How We Started Making Undusted

[p][/p][p][/p][p]🌻Hello everyone! We’re here with our very first devlog.[/p][p]Today, we’d like to share a little bit about the process of making Undusted.[/p][p][/p]
So, what did our team make before this…?
[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]It was Kill The Crows! [/p][p]Quite a different mood compared to Undusted, right? [/p][p]We’ve heard that a lot, and honestly, even we thought it might feel a bit unexpected to others.[/p][p][/p][p]Our team is small, but made up of people who each want to create their own unique games![/p][p]Because of that, we naturally end up challenging ourselves with different genres. [/p][p]And the game we’re preparing after Undusted will be another new genre as well, so please look forward to it![/p][p][/p]
What led us to create Undusted?
[p]At one point, we were really into ASMR and “Oddly Satisfying” videos. [/p][p]The kind of things that steal away your time when you just zone out watching them![/p][p]As we got absorbed in those, one day we had this thought:[/p][p][/p][p]What if we made a game that could give players that same sensation?[/p][p][/p][p]It already feels good just to watch, but wouldn’t it be even better if you could actually interact with it?[/p][p]That’s how we made our prototype and decided to start the project![/p][p]
[/p][p](A toothbrush from the very first prototype)[/p][p][/p][p]( Early development shots of Undusted! )[/p][p][/p][p]There were many difficult moments while making the game, but what kept us going was our belief in it.[/p][p]And that belief grew stronger thanks to the support and reactions of players like you. [/p][p]Thank you so much for being with us throughout this not-so-short journey.[/p][p][/p]
We will announce the release date soon! Please stay tuned!
[p]We can’t wait to share the game with you and hear your thoughts.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Follow us and be the first to check out the upcoming release date!
[p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]You can also follow us on social media![/p][p]🐦https://x.com/undustedgame[/p][p]📷 https://www.instagram.com/undustedgame/[/p][p][/p][p] [/p]
Join the community!
[p][/p]
