Miss the Steam Tabletop Fest? Don't worry, you can still catch all the big talks

Steam just wrapped up its inaugural Tabletop Fest, a celebration of digital board games and wargames that included a full slate of talks from leading developers, publishers, and influencers in the space. If you missed out, don't fret: the main lineup of talks is already available online.

As our friends at Wargamer point out, Valve has uploaded the talks from the Tabletop Fest's 'main stage' to its YouTube channel. This playlist currently includes 42 presentations on games ranging from Gloomhaven to Field of Glory II. The videos vary in format: there are let's plays, interviews, and panel discussions featuring some of the most interesting voices in tabletop games, each about an hour long.

You might want to check out, for instance, a Plague, Inc. let's play with designer James Vaughan, or a round of Armello with the folks at League of Geeks. Games Workshop fans have presentations on Necromunda: Underhive Wars, Dark Future: Blood Red States, Warhammer 40,000: Gladius, and Warhammer Underworlds: Online to pick from in Valve's lengthy playlist.

The Pride's Destiny Anniversary Dice Event is now LIVE!

🎉 Today we celebrate Armello's Fifth Anniversary! 🎉

We've been fighting for the throne together for an impressive five years now! To further enjoy the art of battle, diplomacy, and inevitable corruption, it's time to open the gates for some menacing Rot Dice.. So the Pride's Destiny Anniversary event has now begun!

With these illustrious artifacts, you can really embrace your inner corruption. They start pure, and slowly become corrupted as your Rot increases. Pride's Destiny, after all, are The King's Dice.

👑 The Details 👑

Event Start:
NOW!

Event End:
Friday 11th of September AEST

Valid games for a Dice drop
The dice will have a chance to drop in any situation where you complete a game and earn a regular chest. That means you have up to three chances per day to find these rare cubes. Public and Private Multiplayer games are both legitimate.

A note on Dice rarity
These dice are intended to be rare, and we can't guarantee that you will find them. It is possible, however, to find multiple sets so be sure to look out for your friends and share them around if you find multiples... or if you're a member of the Rat Clan you might sell them on the marketplace, who knows.

You may have noticed our fantastic header - it was done by our friend Anneliese Mak. You can find more of her work here: http://anneliesemak.com/

Cheers to you all, for joining us on this journey.

Best of luck, Armellians!

An Update (on an update) On Armello!

Howdy y'all,

Woody here, executive producer on Armello. Hope you're all doing as well as you can during this pretty rotten year.

This exact post you're seeing now was planned to be an announcement with long-awaited news about Armello. However, all our intent and planning couldn't predict the struggles and complications that this year, the infamous 2020, has produced.

With very strict (and important) restrictions currently in place here in Melbourne, and the situation evolving and changing rapidly, our capacity to work to predictable timelines has been heavily impacted (even with the studio working from home). As a result, and in all honesty, we can't make any announcements right now. Especially the big one we were hoping to make last month.

What I can promise you:

  • There is work being done on Armello right now. There has been for a while! We have stuff planned (yes, console updates are a part of this).
  • We'll update you all with our plans for Armello as soon as we can responsibly and truthfully do so.
  • Stranger games, dice events, and dice seasons will continue to rotate and happen as normal.
  • Armello community support with the effervescent Vix will continue as it has, uninterrupted, in our post-covid world.

If you have any questions, myself or Vix will be more than happy to answer any that we can, but as is the whole point of this post, there's little we have the capacity to accurately disclose or promise right now.

Thank you, and stay safe.
