A Letter from the Producer of The Rewinder
[p]Hello everyone, I’m Xinyu, the producer of The Rewinder. Thank you all so much for purchasing and playing our game. I sincerely apologize for the numerous issues at launch—we failed to deliver an experience that meets your expectations.[/p][p]A major reason for this stems from our initial vision: we aimed for too much, dreamed too big, but lacked the experience to properly execute it.[/p][p]After the first game received widespread praise, I hoped our studio could grow rapidly and push our limits. But the reality is, attempting change and tackling new challenges proved far harder than expected. Due to the team’s inexperience, we cycled through trial and error during development, repeatedly scrapping and reworking ideas, which led to massive resource waste. Players who tried the earlier demo might’ve noticed that the final version already underwent significant changes. Those who joined the beta test a month before launch also saw how drastically the game evolved in those final weeks. The team worked overtime to the point of exhaustion, barely meeting the release deadline—resulting in countless bugs, unresolved issues, and underdeveloped systems. The Rewinder 2’s sheer scale drained all our resources. We poured everything into this project, leaving us no choice but to launch as-is.[/p][p]Of course, none of these problems should’ve been shouldered by you, the players who love games. We’ve seen all your feedback, critiques, frustrations, and even anger—we take full responsibility. This was my fault for being overly ambitious, chasing innovation while losing sight of why players loved The Rewinder in the first place.[/p][p]As mentioned, The Rewinder 2 exhausted our remaining funds. Imperfect as it is, the studio now faces immense pressure. With meager revenue, our studio risks disbanding. It breaks my heart to part with the team who fought alongside me till the end, all due to my misjudgments. But I won’t abandon The Rewinder 2. This isn’t just for the players—it’s for myself also. I’ll do everything possible to polish and improving the game.[/p][p]Soon, I’ll share a detailed update roadmap to remake The Rewinder 2. I hope to invite you back to the world of The Rewinder someday, to continue Qiyun and Mingxin’s extraordinary journey.[/p]
