Sacred Oath Alliance's spell advisor—Sandar

In the world of Pennon and Battle, each faction has a unique understanding of the use of source power. The Sacred Oath Alliance of humans and dwarves perfectly integrates machinery with source power spells. The dwarves, with their advanced mechanical craftsmanship, completed the steam revolution early and entered the mechanized era; humans relied on agriculture and commerce for stable development, establishing a united and prosperous nation.

However, the sky remained the domain of birds and dragons. The Sacred Oath Alliance's troops, relying solely on dwarven drills and cannons, were insufficient to deal with aerial threats. At that time, dwarven flying machines were limited by the insufficient power of steam engines, requiring them to reduce size and carry no weapons to lighten the load, which was not suitable for large-scale military operations.

Thus, a wind spell master from the human battle mage corps, after long research and experimentation, successfully used wind spells to improve steam machinery, helping the Alliance's dwarven engineers solve the power issue and further promoting the birth of large flying vehicles, the Air Fortress. This wind spell master is now the spell advisor of the Sacred Oath Alliance—Sandar.

Leader of the Betrayers—Destructive Delamin

In Pennon and Battle, there is a race unknown to other factions—the ancient Swarm. They were severely weakened in ancient wars and have been hibernating underground... until they were awakened by the sound of dwarven drills.
In our setting, the Swarm are servants and experiments of the ancient gods, enslaved by soul binding to fight for them in their quest to conquer all of Ruachland.

But even insects yearn for freedom. Led by their queen, countless Swarm began to rebel against this enslavement, waging war against the ancient gods. Only the Swarm of the Destruction Legion refused to pledge loyalty to the queen, lurking under the ancient gods' command, waiting for the right moment. This earned them the title of traitors among the uninformed. The leader of these traitors is Destructive Delamin.

The Endless Void, the Uncrowned Master of Aether: Darkness Herald

Aether is the origin of all energy in Ruachland. Driven by Aether, nature evolves, life sprouts, and wisdom condenses into spells.

In Pennon and Battle we designed two factions skilled in Aether—the Elven Empire and the Eternight Council.

In the study of Aether spells, Eternight Council and Elven Empire took different paths: The Council leans towards Aether craftsmanship, wielding alchemical creations in their spells; while the Elves are closer to nature, understanding the essence of Aether more deeply.

When the Elves touched upon the ultimate secrets of Aether, greed and desire birthed a dark entity, an Aether Eclipse. It rose abruptly, devouring thirty of the continent's top Elfspell masters and an entire city, becoming a nexus of negative energy.
Then, this Eclipse silently fell. The eternal darkness was sealed and transformed by the Eternight Council, given form and spirit, becoming the most loyal among the many immortality seekers of the Eternight Council: the Darkness Herald.

Barbarian Tribes—Totem-worshiping Tribe, endless conquest and plunder

The story of Pennon and Battle is born in an ancient land called Ruachland. Many tribes have established their own kingdoms on this fertile continent. In the past, the Orc Tribe lived under the powerful Elven Empire. However, with the fall of the Elven Empire, the Orc Tribe finally broke free and gained freedom. But the barren land and their savage nature led them to fight each other. When the barren land could no longer satisfy the Orcs, they began to plunder the fertile lands beyond.

The Orcs on the barren land are distinctive; they are savage, primitive, and totem-worshiping, skilled in taming various magical beasts. Even their cities are mostly tribal camps. In the past, the Orcs lived under the Elven Empire. After the great catastrophe, the Orc Tribes on the barren land became free but had nothing. To compete for limited resources and consume excess population, the tribes began brutal wars, with smaller tribes gradually being annexed by larger ones. As the era of conquest arrived, the battles between large tribes became less frequent. Apart from some wise Orc leaders reaching a consensus, the main reason is that they have become strong enough to conquer lands beyond the barren land.

Faction Characteristics:
The barren land is not a single tribe or force but is composed of countless Orcs, Centaurs, Minotaurs, Giants, and other savage creatures. They worship powerful totems, giving them unparalleled morale on the battlefield. The troops of the Barbarian Tribes include fierce Tribe Warriors, tamed giant wolves, and agile dragons. These creatures have survived in harsh natural environments, becoming exceptionally strong through trials. The heroes of the Barbarian Tribes are the outstanding ones who have emerged victorious through numerous hardships. However, the mages of the Barbarian Tribes are far less accomplished in spellcraft compared to other factions. Additionally, the plundering tactics of the Barbarian Tribes allow them to not only defeat enemies on the battlefield but also gain extra Golden Coins after battles. This plundering talent enables them to survive and grow in the resource-scarce wilderness.

Faction Buildings:

Assemble Area: Allows the recruitment of soldiers from facilities within a certain range of this town.
The Goblin Chamber of Commerce: Troops visiting this town gain the Hunt status, allowing them to earn extra Golden Coins after each victorious battle, cleared every Monday.

Faction Units:
Hero - Randy Steelbone

The martial leader of the Steelbone clan. After her husband died in battle against the Fury Rock clan, Randy felt humiliated by the chieftain's submission to Fury Rock and chose self-exile. Recently, after returning to the clan and successfully challenging the chieftain, she voluntarily took on the task of training soldiers, hoping to pass on her combat experience within the clan.

Hero - Korl Darkhorn

Leader of the Minotaur Plunderers. Korl personally defeated the Dark Lord and mounted his horn on his own head, attracting more Minotaurs to join the Plunderers, following this action-oriented Minotaur and rampaging across the barren land.

Talent Effect: Increases the amount of resources gained by the hero in the Hunt status after victorious battles

Seventh-tier Advanced Soldier: Cyclops

Active Skills
Knockback: Cast on any enemy unit within 1 grid around itself, dealing melee attack damage to the target unit and knocking it back 4 grids. If the knocked-back position is occupied by another unit, it takes additional damage.
Crushing Blow: Cast on an enemy unit within attack range, dealing melee attack damage and preventing the target unit from counterattacking in its turn.

War Machinery: Ballista

Can perform ranged attacks. If there are enemy units within 1 grid around itself, it can only perform melee attacks, dealing reduced damage.
