Here's a look at The Witcher 3 running on Steam Deck

Fancy a look at what The Witcher 3 looks like running on Steam Deck? Sure you do, and you can see it for yourself below in this tweet from the official Witcher Game Twitter account.

What you are seeing is the latest update to the game running on Valve’s upcoming handheld.

It appears to be running well, although we only get to see Geralt riding through town on Roach. It doesn’t give us a look at any fighting or any other scenes which made the CPU on my old machine rebel in protest. Still, it’s a look at a game that can be graphics-intensive when run on high settings being played on a handheld.

The Witcher is getting a second anime and a "kids and family" show

The Witcher series seems to be doing very well for Netflix, as the streaming service has just announced several new projects for the franchise that produced one of the best RPGs ever made. These include a brand new anime movie to follow up Nightmare of the Wolf, and a "kids and family" show.

Netflix had its big 'Tudum' event this weekend, bringing with it a load of great new announcements and trailers for various shows, including all the details on the League of Legends animated series Arcane. On The Witcher side of things, Netflix revealed a first look at the Blood Origin prequel series and confirmed that Season 3 of the show was already greenlit.

There also was a couple of big new announcements, although sadly without much detail. The first is the reveal that a second The Witcher anime movie is on the way, which will presumably act as a follow-up to last month's Nightmare of the Wolf starring young Vesemir - although that hasn't been confirmed, and it hasn't got a title.

The Witcher Season 3 gets a trailer before Season 2's even out

Fans are already counting the days until the launch of The Witcher Netflix series Season 2, which is coming in just a few months on December 17. A few new details have been released, including the first look at Geralt's mentor Vesemir, but more surprising is the confirmation of The Witcher Season 3 - complete with a trailer.

Fans of one of the best RPGs of all time are still waiting on The Witcher Season 2, which launches two years after the debut of Season 1 on Netflix - and will see Ciri get her training under Lambert and Vesemir at the Witcher stronghold of Kaer Morhen. Yesterday Netflix released a catch-up trailer titled 'Road to Season 2' along with a load of clips and some surprising reveals.

The most interesting is, of course, the confirmation of The Witcher Season 3 several months before Season 2 hits - along with a short teaser trailer where it's cheekily referred to as 'The Witcher 3'. Gee, that sounds familiar somehow.

CD Projekt can't promise Cyberpunk 2077 or The Witcher 3 will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S this year

Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher developer CD Projekt has said it can’t guarantee the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S version of the sci-fi RPG or the 2015 fantasy epic will launch in 2021 – as previously outlined – though that is still the target date for the ports.

In the company's latest shareholders results call (thanks VGC), the company’s SVP of business development Michał Nowakowski noted that CD Projekt wants to learn from the disasterous launch of the game back in 2020 and not over-promise and under-deliver once again.

“The target is to release the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 late this year,” he said. “At the same time, keeping in mind the lessons we have learned during the past year and taking into account that this project still remains in development, we can’t say with full certainty that the production schedule will not change.”
