Henry Cavill interrupts The Witcher chat to remind us he's a Warhammer geek too

Henry Cavill is best known as either Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher TV series or as Superman in DC movies such as Batman V Superman, but to many fans he's also known as a massive geek - as illustrated at WitcherCon this week, where Cavill interrupted an interview to drop a nerdy Warhammer 40K reference.

The WitcherCon interview with MTV news correspondent Josh Horowitz mostly covered season two of The Witcher show on Netflix, which got revealed for a December release alongside most of the episode titles and a new trailer. The interview is a proper in-depth chat with Henry Cavill and lasts around 45 minutes, and is well worth a watch as Cavill is amusing throughout.

However, towards the end of the interview, Cavill drops the Witcher stuff and admits that there's something he's been "dying to say" about the set photo behind them. Cavill admits he's been "grinding his teeth" every day on this set because there weren't any other Warhammer fans around to get the reference he wanted to make.

This $250 Geralt statue sure is a look

Netflix is now offering pre-orders for a 10.6-inch tall resin Geralt statue that depicts one of the first moments from its Witcher show, in which Geralt fights and defeats a kikimora. The statue is based on art by illustrator Tracy Tubera, and just 350 have been made...

The Witcher 3's next-gen upgrade will include free DLC from the Netflix series

The Witcher 3's next-gen upgrade is coming out later this year, and along with the updated visuals and possibly some popular mods, the 'Complete Edition' will include a few nods to the popular Witcher Netflix series.

Announced at 'WitcherCon', The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition will be coming to digital shelves later this year, and as we've already learned, it's a free upgrade for anyone who already owns the excellent RPG game. Developer CD Projekt Red revealed some updated cover art in a tweet today, and hinted that it's prepared "some free DLCs" that are inspired by the Netflix series, which wrapped up filming its second season earlier this year.

So what might that DLC contain? That's an open question until CD Projekt Red decides to share more information about the Complete Edition. Could it be a set of that weird wrinkly Nilfgaard armour people complained about in season one? Maybe the various weapons Henry Cavill flings around in the Butcher of Blaviken scene in the first episode?

Netflix reveals The Witcher's Season 2 episode titles alongside December release

The Witcher Season 2 release date on Netflix is set for December 17. Today's WitcherCon event promised no big new game reveals, but we are getting a pile of news on the next step of the Netflix series. The show will return in time for the two-year anniversary of Season 1's debut, and we've gotten a few details on what the new season will look like, too.

Before dropping the new teaser trailer, which you can see below, Netflix shared a few stills from the new season, including a fresh shot of Jaskier (the bard RPG game fans will know better as Dandelion) playing it up for a mostly-disinterested crowd. We've also got a shot of Ciri getting her Witcher training at Kaer Morhen under the watchful eye of Lambert, giving us a visual of one of Season 2's big plot points.

The stream has also revealed the episode titles for the series: A Grain of Truth, Kaer Morhen, What Is Lost, Redanian Intelligence, Turn Your Back, Dear Friend, and Voleth Meir. The title of the eighth episode is 'top secret', so I guess we'll have to wait for that one.

The Witcher 3's next-gen update will include DLC items inspired by the show

The path of the witcher continues at WitcherCon and ah look, they do have some video gaming news for us after all. CD Projekt Red have previously announced that they're working on a nex-gen game update for The Witcher 3 that us PC folks will also be receiving as a free upgrade. Turns out there's a bit more free DLC coming with it as well. Yup, it sure is some television show tie-ins. Not that I'm ever one to turn down new character outfits.
