Of all the games I saw at Summer Game Fest, FragPunk was perhaps the most exciting. While I've fallen out of love with online shooters as of late, its innovative blend of Slay the Spire-style card modifiers and fast-paced Valorant-esque head-popping immediately had me intrigued. While I took it for a spin at SGF, I've been desperate to get my hands on it ever since. Now, during the Xbow showcase at the Tokyo Game Show, the team has finally announced the FragPunk closed beta date.

Fragpunk is a colorful new FPS with a Slay the Spire twist

There are quite a few interesting new shooters on the horizon, but one that I'm really eager to get my hands on is FragPunk. This slick tactical FPS looks very much like Valorant on the surface, but it adds a new layer of strategy with a card system that will test your deck-building skills just as much as your aim. FragPunk just got a fresh trailer with some new snippets of gameplay, which is well worth a watch, but what's even more exciting is that it's just announced a closed beta is coming to Steam and Xbox very soon.
