V1.8 "Latest Bleeding Edge" build update

Our "Latest Bleeding Edge" build has just been updated with our latest progress upgrading our game to the new engine. You'll find better AI, stage climbing is back (woooo!), and some new moves and CAW parts as well. Enjoy! If you experience any crashing or weirdness pretty please let us know so we can fix it in the next update which is also coming soon.

- Added the ability for AI to grab and pickup weapons available

- Added the ability of AI climbing platforms and grappling. Haven't included ragdoll falling just yet but will include it in the next build

- Fixed the sensitivity of using controllers and gamepads while navigating menu

- Added the New Chokeslam animation. This is a move that can send your opponent through the table so get close to the table and perform the move. Looks very awesome with flaming table

- Improved overall gameplay mechanics and polished the core gameplay to make things more fluid and smooth

- Fixed a few other bugs that help improve the quality of the game


KNOWN ISSUES:

-Sometimes player legs freeze during walk idle as you slide around. Pretend it's an outdoor Canadian venue on ice for now ;)

-If you play against one of the default "John Doe" characters you will experience glitches and bugs the likes of which your grandchildren will hear horror stories about.

Latest Bleeding Edge build updated!



New Build is LIVE!

The very latest bleeding edge build is ready for you right now on our "Latest-Bleeding-Edge" beta channel of Steam! It's been a tough few weeks with our lead programmer pushing through a serious case of COVID but together with our lead artist, Mr Rasslin X, we've got something new for you all to try out. Plenty of work to do as we continually upgrade to the new engine but here is the list of everything added since last bleeding edge update:

BUILD NOTES:

- Added Match preset menu for each match setup. Most speciality matches are not included yet due to AI not assigned yet but will be included in the next build.

- Added Championship mode. Win or Defend the Championship in this mode

- Added Riot as a new character

-Character Select menu updated

-Wrestler Edit feature in process of being added back

-New Ring editor added

-Options menu available from main menu and pause menu

- Assigned each wrestler a unique movelist

- Added addition Caw assets including the ref shirts

- Added more options in Ring Editor

- Disabled some content in this build until it is ready. In the edit mode you will see locked content on each item that is affected.

- Added the option of No Aprons and No Buckles in the Ring Editor

- Updated the Cardboard material with the new hi-res material.

- Added the chain Rope Texture to the Chain Ropes in Ring Editor

- Added the correct values to volume sliders in the Options menu from the main menu

- Added volume, crowd and sfx sliders in the In-Game Pause Menu, which now applies the correct values from the Options menu. You can now also select the sliders with the keyboard or controller in the pause menu.

- Fixed Grimhold Mask Texture issues in Character select

- Fixed the Two combined square posts in Ring Editor, it now only show one square post when you select.

- Added Animated Aprons, now when you slam your opponent to the canvas, you will see the Aprons animate

- Fixed the BIGTIME animated ring post issues

- Fixed the Exit button on Main Menu

-First Blood and Iron Man matches added back

-Exploding Candy Cane added as special random weapon

- Re added the build number stamp on Main Menu

- Scaled the Apron so that you can see more of the ring post

Lead Programmer "Burning Devil" note: So that is it for now guys. I'm still recovering at the moment but wanted to submit this for you all, so that you can play through and give feedback. Very very tired for now so I'm heading to bed for sleep, but I look forward to your feedback.

KNOWN ISSUES

-Strike/grapple button response during walk idle is is being a dick. Working on it.
-One tester is reporting broken character geometry in Character Select screen and we have not been able to reproduce this bug internally. If it happens to you PRETTY PLEASE let us know so we can get more helpful clues. THANK YOU!
-You will notice a fair ammount of features/content that still needs to be added back to this new engine compared to the old Unity 4 build that is our main public build here on Steam. But this build also has stuff that old build does not have. Enjoy the exploding Candy Cane if you get lucky and find it ;)

The next playable update is being worked on by our code warrior, Burning Devil, as we speak. WOOO! While he does that Mr Wrestling 5 is cranking on adding more new moves to the game and this morning he sent me a fun little update in the form of an ‘old photo’ with a brief description that I’m taking as clear proof that he was at least five cans into a six pack ;)

Bleeding Edge Update! April 24 2020

We have a new update ready for you in the beta channel "latest-bleeding-edge". This is a relatively minor engine update so you should notice vastly improved frame rate performance (knock on wood) as well as two new characters, Black Falcon and a rebooted G-Rush! You can also completely remove the entire audience from the 'esc' pause menu to make the game more authentic these days ;)

The next bleeding edge update is just a few days away as well. Also relatively minor (baby steps are always better than no steps) the next update will include resolution/quality options, increased controller support, and other bug fixes.

Bleeding Edge April 17 2020 UPDATED!

NEW "Bleeding Edge" Beta channel!!

FINALLY! We're dusting off the cobwebs around here and giving the biggest damn collective middle finger we can give to all of the crap that slowed us down and tried to kill us for the last year or so. NOT TODAY SATAN!

You may have already heard about the $1 Patreon campaign we launched a few weeks back with the intent of cranking out regular build updates for our ass-kicking Steam community again. We pulled the trigger, launched the Patreon, and then the strangest thing happened...we started cranking out regular updates again!

The various Pro Wrestling X Beta channels here on Steam got a little convoluted and unorganized so instead of deleting or updating any of the existing channels directly (you never know who might have become attached to any particular one) I've created a BRAND SPANKIN' NEW Beta channel and uploaded a brand new bleeding edge internal developer update to it.

BUILD NOTES
If you know how to access the beta channel menu by right-clicking on Pro Wrestling X in your Steam library, you'll find a spot to enter a password. Enter "justforsteamsupporters" here and you'll be granted access to a new Beta channel named "latest-bleeding-edge". This new channel is not to be confused with the old "bleeding-edge-build" which is...confusing, I know right!?!

Once you're subscribed to this new Beta channel a brand new bleeding edge private developer build will begin downloading for you. Stay subscribed to this new channel, and you'll automatically get all of the new bleeding edge updates after our $1 Patreon supporters get a sneak peek at it for a few days. The builds in this channel will show you EXACTLY what we're working on at any given moment. For example, this new beta build is all about increasing frame rate performance and bringing all of the lighting, animation, etc. up to date. It contains just two wrestlers at this time for testing as well as the very beginnings of some new features such as pulling weapons from the crowd, selectable venues from the pause menu, and other little goodies.

PLEASE feel free to leave your feedback here and let us know how it performs for you in general. There will be bugs and glitches at this point, but once we can confirm the core gameplay is running strong we can begin adding in all of the match types, CAW, roster, etc. from the old Unity 4 build that remains our main public build here on Steam.

A few notes about recent Patreon perks, Steam builds, etc:

I know some people were a bit confused about the new Patreon campaign we launched and some thought that anyone HAD to pay $1 to get build updates. OH HELL NO! Patreon supporters just get to play these bleeding edge updates a few days early. After Patrons kick the builds around for a few days/weeks they will be posted here on Steam for EVERYONE :)

Turns out I sometimes communicate with y'all even worse than I trim my ear hair. Steam customers get the bleeding edge updates, too. Patrons just get them a few days early in exchange for tossing our crew a dollar towards continued development. It's working well so far! Thanks to Patreon $1 supporters we've delivered bleeding edge builds to them TWICE already since launching the campaign just a couple of weeks ago. Development is speeding along comfortably again and EVERYONE wins!

Also, I think I failed to mention that $1 Patreon supporters get an early peek at these builds, oh it's true, but they do not get the main public build that you all purchased here on Steam. Patreon is really meant for those supporters who were asking to contribute a little more to the crew to help speed up development again. So far so good. It's working!
