hello everyone! Today, I would like to share with you the story behind the game "Ben Cao Gui Yuan Lu".
In January 2020, we participated in a national cultural and creative talent training course (Traditional Culture Inheritance and Innovation Direction) held in Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province. During this period, due to convenient conditions (organized by the organizer), we visited medical history memorial halls such as Xujiang Medical and Jianchang Gang, and learned about some basic information about traditional Chinese medicine, including some famous local doctors such as Chen Ziming, Gong Tingxian, Li Ting, etc. Soon after, there was a mask problem in Wuhan, which caused panic nationwide, and medical supplies became extremely scarce. There is a scene where Tan Ju and his lover Director Ai from the Fuzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism are on duty in the community every day, delivering traditional Chinese medicine and ingredients door-to-door. Even now, we still cannot forget this scene when we recall it. We know what we need to do now. We have experienced the "sincerity of great doctors" from ancient times to the present, the unique theory and medical practice of traditional Chinese medicine, and the outstanding contributions of this traditional Chinese medicine culture that has been born and bred on the land of China for thousands of years to life, health, and disease.



We believe that the spirit of excellent doctors should be worthy of praise in any era, whether it is modern medicine or traditional medicine. That's why we have decided to create a game for traditional Chinese medicine, using the form of a game to popularize the relevant understanding and viewpoints of traditional Chinese medicine


 
Most of our team members come from the Orange Light gaming field. For example, our boss previously trained original artists for the Orange Light game material library, and the producer is a contracted author of Orange Light. Therefore, the art style of our works naturally carries the genes of Orange Light style. We hope to strive towards the perspective of Chinese style and realistic Chinese style (the art style has been comprehensively adjusted for at least three editions since its inception, and we also hope that everyone can see this effort). And we have always hoped to make breakthroughs in gameplay, wanting to create a traditional Chinese medicine themed game that is both fun and informative.
 

However, the path of transformation has been exceptionally difficult. Traditional Chinese medicine popularization itself is extremely challenging, while we also need to balance survival and ideals. Ensure that the game can continue to be produced with quality. Over the past three years, some of our former comrades who fought together have left due to unforeseen circumstances, while others have joined with new aspirations. The project has also been suspended and started, taking many detours. The biggest challenge is that there are very few people in the team who have knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine (our previous plan was for Western medicine students at Shanxi Medical University), and the consultants with rich experience in traditional Chinese medicine are not very familiar with game design. This has led to the game being repeatedly overturned and restarted, and even now our understanding of traditional Chinese medicine is inevitably shallow, with errors and omissions. We hope everyone can forgive us and help us correct and correct mistakes. We will humbly and patiently verify and correct them.
 
Now, our work is presented to everyone in the form of simulated management. Although it is still in its early stages with only a complete framework and structure, the support and encouragement from players have filled us with confidence, and we look forward to filling it out together with everyone.
