A bit more about special guests

Hi chefs!

Today we continue meeting special guests in Abra-Cooking-Dabra.

As you already know, special guests appear after you successfully serve all usual customers on a level.

For example, in level 6 you can meet Merry Man — a mysterious protector of the poor and one of the best archers in the magic kingdom!

And in the next level you’ll be surprised to see Parish Boy — he can get a bit impatient:

Smoking Detective will come by in level 8. He must be on a case!

In level 9 beware of Sheep in Human Clothing! She is not as innocent as she seems…

And you’ll be honored to serve an actual king — make sure everything is top-notch!

As you might have noticed, the guests in Abra-Cooking-Dabra are now even livelier than ever. That’s because they now react to your actions! Cook a meal — receive an ovation, burn it — and see guests disappointed… And you don’t want to make them disappointed, do you?

This is it for today! Next time we’ll have a look into something more tasty — new dishes! See you soon!

Bosses and guests

[p]Hi, chefs!

Today, let’s look closer at the customers you will serve!

Guests are an important part of Abra-Cooking-Dabra, as they provide you with orders. Customers come, leave, and wait for their food. A funny animation here, a strange interaction there help us to make them look more alive and to highlight their peculiarity.

[/p][p]
Beside regular customers, most levels feature a special guest, which appears only if you successfully serve all regulars. What makes them special? For one, they rarely ask for usual dishes and instead order something special. Such food requires rare ingredients, which you get as a reward from previous customers. Also, serving special guests can unlock a secret level! But let’s meet some of them.

Mr. Walrus may look menacing with those massive tusks, but actually he is a very kind gentleman (as long as you keep feeding him, but who doesn’t get angry when they are hungry?)

[/p][p]
Our next guest is a famous archaeologist Kara Loft… Oh, right, she wants to keep incognito, whoops. Meet an unknown masked woman with pistols!

However, some guests are so important, your whole restaurant gets reserved for them only. These bosses will also try to mess with you… a lot. It’s up to you to make them change their mind with your cooking!

The first of such guests is Sir Dodo. He will try to freeze your ingredients… which wouldn’t be so bad if his friend weren’t setting them on fire.

And a visitor from far away: Caterpillar! She can command darkness and hide your ingredients from you.

Also, as a small bonus: you will be able to offer your customers drinks! Brew the traditional British beverage — tea:

and for those who can’t start their day without coffee:

That’s it for today! But we’ll be back with more news and info about Abra-Cooking-Dabra soon, stay tuned!

New utensils!

Hi, chefs!

We continue improving the game and, among other things, it includes adding new content! In Abra-Cooking-Dabra new content means new tools to cook with. So today we’ll tell you a bit about it.

One of the most important and fun parts of the game is when you obtain new utensils. In the demo you can try using knives and graters. There are also a few recipes that involve frying and boiling ingredients. But a true chef always needs more utensils! So what tools can you play with in later stages? Let’s see some of them!

One of the new utensils is a whisk. An essential tool for every chef, it will allow you to stir ingredients (like eggs) to use in more complex recipes!

The next on the list is a masher. Yep, the one that helps you mash boiled potatoes! And not only them, but also boiled carrots, parsnips and swedes!

A mill can be used to make flour from grain. Then it can be processed into dough - you can then make some bread out of it, or use in other baking recipes!

Thirsty? Use a juicer to make some tomato or carrot juice!

And last but not least is not even a utensil, but a new farm animal - beside a chicken you’ll be able to milk a cow. Feed it with a few vegetables and get some milk later!

This is it for today, but soon you’ll learn more about new tools, guests and further explore the exciting world of Abra-Cooking-Dabra!
