Playtest #2 Hotfix 0.4.3

Hello everyone,

we have just uploaded another small hotfix.

Important: If you have a graphics card with < 6GB VRAM, use the DirectX11 option when starting the game. Otherwise it'll crash due to the hungry Unreal Engine :D.

Improved:
  • Increased size of boss marker on mini map
Fixed:
  • Airdrop reward screen could be soft-locked when upgrading inside existing inventory
  • Some inventory edge case crashes
  • Dumbell + robot arm sometimes didn't loose effect when unequipped in airdrop screen
  • Lighter did upgrade despite not being upgradable

  • Endless reward item glitch when upgrading with airdrop reward items
  • Inventory crashes here and there
  • Crashes when switching maps
  • Bossmap sometimes not fully generated (black holes)
  • Weird cloud outlines

Playtest #2 starting today!

Hello,

today we're launching the public playtest round 2 for our upcoming game “Deadly Days: Roadtrip”. We would be delighted if you would take a look at it and give us your feedback.

If you have already been to round 1, you will certainly notice some changes. Thanks for all your valuable feedback! That is what we need!

What is new?


Added
  • Use our new mission selection map to choose your route for each run. You'll find some new maps there.
  • Baloon Pump Item - you can use this to craft powerful melee and ranged weapons, like this inflated Katana sword ːsteammockingː
  • There are now 3 characters in the game, which can be unlocked. In addition to the Survivor, who has an expanded starting inventory, you can now unlock Bananaperson and the Sheriff, who each bring a special item with them.
  • Mini fuel UI next to the character to give you feedback where you need it
  • Direction indicator for the bus when you have collected enough fuel to return.
  • A look at our upcoming "Meta Base". This will be your starting screen, which you will improve throughout all your runs (right now you can switch characters and start the mission there).
  • When you hover over items, you can see which items are affected.
  • Current status of our new soundtrack
  • There are now explosive objects, such as barrels, with which you can cause a lot of damage - but be careful, you are not immune to these explosions.
  • Ingame Feedback / Bug Report. It also sends a screenshot of the game so we know what you are talking about. (Please use it!)


Improved
  • Item loot can now be found in every loot spot. However, loot crates contain guaranteed items.
  • Items can now be upgraded by dragging and dropping.
  • Items will now automatically be de-equipped when you overlap an item (and an item will automatically be attached to your mouse when you overlap / auto-unequip)
  • Light shadows for items being dragged around
  • Tooltip when you need to reduce the amount of items in your stash.
  • Reworked hand displays
  • Reworked a lot of the zombie sprites + new wobble animations
  • Reworked dash visuals
  • Performance improvements here and there
  • New map for boss fight
  • Experience orb animations
  • Feedback when activating bus with insufficient fuel
  • Buffed Health Kit item (reduced delay + now accumulates damage before healing)
  • Lots of balance tweaks here and there
  • You can now use arrow keys to control your character (besides WASD)
  • Dashing now has less friction and should feel smoother
  • Runner zombie line telegraph now RED for better visibility


Fixed
  • Crashes when playing long sessions with a lot of inventory rearrangement
  • Many issues with robot arm and dumbell (hands not counting, stuff not equipping, etc.)
  • Map generation sometimes fails (black holes in map)
  • Airdrop items sometimes under airdrop crate in reward screen
  • Throwables sometimes didn't explode
  • Blablabla popup sometimes appears when dashing
  • Manual shoot sometimes not working when at map border
  • Player could dash out of map sometimes
  • Some typos

Open Playtest Round 1 closed - Registration for Round 2 is open

Hi,

First of all, we'd like to thank all the players who took part in our first public playtest. We received great, helpful, constructive feedback. Registration for round 2 is open - just use the button on our store page.




[h2]When will round 2 of the playtest start?[/h2]
We are now working hard on new features and content. Based on your feedback, the next version will include some improvements. Round 2 of the playtest should start at the beginning of October. It's best to join our Discord so you don't miss anything.

[h2]What changes and new content will there be in round 2 of the playtest?[/h2]
We don't want to give anything away just yet, but we can say that we have already implemented some cool features and improvements that we are currently testing internally. We still need to fix a few bugs and ensure stability so that there are no frustrating crashes or similar in the open playtest.

[h2]What was the feedback from round 1 of the playtest?[/h2]
The game was well received by both the online players and the players on site at gamescom, and most of them enjoyed it. We are very happy about that. But even more important are the many little things you mentioned. If we continue to receive such high-quality feedback, we can create a great game together.
