• Reawaken a Special Preview: Dive into the world of FATE: Reawakened in 12-minute segments with a special alpha experience. We know not all of you could visit the FATE: Reawakened booth at PAX this year, and we’re sorry, but that demo has chosen its fate. A new descendent has risen.
  
• Bartleby & Friends: Return to the lush greens and friendly folks of Grove who amazingly still haven’t moved out of the shadow of the Dungeon Gate.
  
• I See Fire: A Firedrake has claimed rule over the 3rd level of Grove’s Dungeon. Will you vanquish it in time, brave hero? Will you tempt fate?

Hey all! The first phase of the FAQ is here! As things develop and more questions are addressed, we’ll update this FAQ with the newest information.



Why bring back FATE now?

FATE is turning 20 next year! This amazing achievement and the small but wonderful community that has been playing and loving these fantastic games should be celebrated! We couldn't think of a better way to honor the brand than to ensure the adventures within FATE would continue by updating and optimizing the entire series for modern devices.

Why not a new FATE game?

Right now, we're fully focused on FATE: Reawakened. We can't confirm a sequel at this point, but with a growing fanbase, who knows what could happen?

What exactly is the FATE: Reawakened game?

FATE: Reawakened is the entire legendary series of: FATE, Undiscovered Realms, The Traitor Soul, and The Cursed King, bundled together into one improved and revitalized game.

What are the release details? (Release date, price, etc..)

We will share more details as soon as we can!

Will the old games become unavailable when FATE: Reawakened launches?

No, we do not currently plan to remove the old games from any storefronts. They will not be retired and will still be available to purchase for those who want the OG FATE experience!

What video game engine is being used for this project?

FATE: Reawakened is being built in Unity.

Is this really a remaster or is it a remake?

We consider FATE: Reawakened to be a remaster since we are revamping the old graphics and UI as opposed to rebuilding the game from scratch. Remakes also sometimes take new creative liberties, add new features, or rework certain aspects of the game completely. For FATE: Reawakened, we are not fundamentally changing any gameplay significantly – we're just giving it a nice new coat of paint so-to-speak.

Will FATE: Reawakened support Steam Deck?

Yes, you’ll be able to play FATE: Reawakened on Steam Deck!

Will FATE: Reawakened support widescreen formats?

Yes! You’ll be able to see more of the dungeon depths than ever before.

Will it be possible to transfer characters from the original games to FATE: Reawakened?

Unfortunately, this will not be possible at launch.

Will there be multiplayer support (cooperative)?

While we understand the desire for multiplayer, right now we are concentrating on revamping content from the original games. Multiplayer capability is currently not planned for launch.

Which languages are being supported at launch?

FATE: Reawakened will be launching with full language support for:

Will there be any new content included?

Our goal for FATE: Reawakened was always to keep the nostalgia intact while making the game more accessible on today's hardware. This means no new content, but does mean other improvements, fixes, and updates. Rest assured, those that lurk in the dungeon’s depths are still your favorite monsters - they’ve just gotten a bit of a glow-up.

Will FATE: Reawakened keep the original OST or add a new one?

It’ll keep the original OST - it’s pretty awesome as-is if you ask us!

Will there be any additional Steam content (trading cards, badges, etc)?

There will be! FATE: Reawakened will launch with Steam trading cards, badges, emoticons, profile backgrounds, and achievements for all supporting platforms.
