【Developer Diary】Concept Design - Cassius, the Ancient King

Cassius is the king of an ancient kingdom and a descendant of the Frost Giants. It is said that Cassius was an ambitious ruler who, upon reaching adulthood, swiftly unified the scattered Frost Giant clans in Jotunheim and established a powerful ancient kingdom. The giant army consolidated by Cassius was undefeated, sweeping through the entire realm of Midgard in less than 15 years, turning it into a paradise for the giants. As a result, Cassius earned the title of "The Tyrant."

However, this Tyrant led his tribe to embark on a certain plan. By the decree of the king, the ancient kingdom occupied the territories surrounding the Well of Urd and tightly sealed off the spring, forbidding anyone from making wishes there.

Nevertheless, Odin, the King of the Gods, who desired to obtain the ancient prophecies, learned of this and launched an attack on the ancient kingdom. After a year-long war, the mortal flesh of the Tyrant ultimately proved unable to withstand the might of the supreme deity.

Cassius was defeated, and Odin, having obtained the ancient prophecies from the Well, froze the ancient kingdom and severed its entire territory, along with the spring, from Jotunheim, casting it into the cosmos.

Thus, the ancient kingdom became an isolated island, embarking on a millennium-long journey of exile with its subjects. The true nature of Cassius's plan may forever remain unknown to future generations.

【Developer Diary】Concept Design - Force Field

The palace of Thor, the God of Thunder, is a magnificent and rugged palace in the sky, constructed from enormous gray and weathered rocks.

It is said to be pulled and suspended in the air by colossal celestial horses. Within this palace, Thor and his warriors train their martial skills day after day, even incorporating numerous brutal mechanisms.

Over time, due to the constant infusion of divine power from Thor and his offspring, the walls of the palace have taken on a mottled appearance of bluish-gray and charred black, with sections of the walls even exposed due to damage.

【Developer Diary】Concept Design - Thrym the Fallen Knight

Thrym was once the captain of the Black Hound Cavalry in the Ecclesiastical Order. However, he was expelled by the Church due to accusations of having an affair with the Archbishop's daughter, earning him the title of "Fallen Knight."

It is said that Thrym possessed breathtaking beauty, and any woman who looked into his eyes would fall in love with him. Many individuals even lost everything they had in their pursuit of catching a glimpse of his true face.

As the exiled knight sought to restrain his allure towards women, he donned a mask and rode his beloved black steed, "Sárr," to the Well of Urd. There, he offered his "countenance" as a sacrifice, pleading for the "Gate" to sever his cursed charm.

After the ritual, Thrym vanished without a trace. Rumors suggest that thereafter, some people caught sight of an otherworldly knight treading upon the waters near the spring.

【Developer Diary】Concept Design - Giants' Park

Once a hunting ground for ancient Frost Giant tribes to hunt gigantic creatures, it eventually became a burial ground for numerous giants.

It is now littered with decaying colossal skeletal remains, weathered enough to distinguish the different parts of the giants' bodies. These remains have melded with the frozen land of the Giant Kingdom, forming a remarkably unique terrain.

In this realm of perpetual polar night, the colossal creatures that were ruthlessly hunted down by the gods, now transformed into silent fossils, still retain their agonized and contorted postures.
