Open Beta Tomorrow

[p]Open Beta starts tomorrow

Tomorrow we officially open the Open Beta of Lootbound.

You’ve been with us through the playtest, hundreds of feedback messages, balance changes, and dozens of small improvements.
Now it’s time to open the game to everyone.

What changed for Open Beta?

We focused on combat feel, usability, and clarity:

Balance and AI

• Companions are more useful and act more intelligently
• Monsters focus the hero less often and are less likely to finish off wounded characters
• Boss scene animations have been added

Gameplay and content

• Item swap mechanic added to the inventory
• You can now open the inventory directly on the map (with party HP/MP displayed)
• A shortened third biome has been added before the final boss, with its own soundtrack
• A short intro cinematic has been added

Clarity and usability

• Tutorial updated (explaining mana and armor recovery)
• Ability tooltips rewritten — damage, healing, and buffs are now clearer
• Damage display changed — now a single total number instead of multiple numbers
• Inventory item controls updated
• Visuals added to the blacksmith room and chest room

Demo tomorrow.

5,000 Players - And We Keep Fighting

During our playtests, nearly 5,000 players have already jumped into Lootbound.

We’ve received tons of feedback, reports, balance notes, and suggestions. Thanks to you, we now clearly understand what needs polishing, what needs tweaking, and what we can improve before Steam Next Fest.

Your participation genuinely helps us shape Lootbound into the game we all want it to be, and we’re incredibly grateful for that. Very soon, we’ll be moving into Open Beta.

For now, we’re still giving away playtest keys in our Discord, so if you want in, join us and take part.

Today we’re letting another 2,000 players into the playtest. If you’ve been waiting, now’s your moment. Check your access.

And this is only building up. Next week, we’ll be opening an open beta, which means even more of you will be able to try out Lootbound. Already fixed and improved by YOUR suggestions!

Once you’re in, go all in. Push the builds. Break the balance. Find the crazy combos. And make sure to share your best moments, clips, and feedback in our Discord. We’re there, watching it all unfold.
We’re just getting started.

More updates soon.

3,000 Players Already and We’re Climbing Higher

Since the start of our playtests, around 3,000 players have jumped into Lootbound.

That number is just awesome. For a small indie roguelike like ours, seeing thousands of people step in and try what we’re building feels surreal.

We’ve been gradually letting players in, and the response has been strong. The feedback, the discussions, the overall activity - it’s all pushing the game forward.

And here’s what’s next.

Soon we’ll open a public demo where everyone will be able to try our updated vision of Lootbound, including improvements based directly on your feedback.

More details very soon.

We’re getting close to sharing more news with you.

Right now we’re working on the next update, focusing on the points that came up most often in your feedback. These aren’t massive changes, but we’re making focused adjustments to the areas players mentioned the most.

We’ll be back very soon with more details.

And one more thing. You’re almost there. If the activity continues at this level, we’ll open the playtest to even more players.

Stay tuned.
