Hello everyone!

This is Double Cross & 2P Games

When we first began crafting Sultan's Game, our goal was simply to streamline story editing for our designers while supporting as many features and combinations as possible. It wasn't until near completion that we realized - perhaps serendipitously - we had crafted an elegantly simple yet remarkably flexible and powerful framework for narrative games. This system minimizes the fundamental units of story construction, allowing developers to focus on crafting individual narratives while freely expanding event complexity and story formulas as resources permit, all seamlessly connected through cards and triggers.
As a development team that has worked extensively with various game editors and frameworks, we can confidently say this is a work we're truly proud of! Moreover, we've been fortunate to prove through Sultan's Game that this storytelling approach has tremendous potential.
 
At the same time, as the framework's most intensive users, we're acutely aware that our current MOD support features - and even the underlying data structures - still have room for improvement. Through community feedback and usage, we'll continue refining these tools and breaking down more game modules to enhance MOD creation freedom, ultimately enabling you to craft entirely new games that are completely different from Sultan's Game.

Therefore, we cordially invite all fellow storytelling enthusiasts to explore the tools we've built in the game's Workshop! As Miss Mahir would say, from that fleeting spark of inspiration to painstaking design, from blood, sweat, and tears in development to creating a complete work...we're just one step away from complete joy - sharing these tools with you. Sultan's Game Data Structure Documentation (Japanese and English versions in preparation)
Here's a straightforward guide to game creation that should help everyone get started. Most of the effects you can achieve have examples within the game's own configuration files - and we're committed to developing even more interesting combination mechanics with the spirit of "expanding usage possibilities for everyone"!

Additionally, to foster a healthy community environment, we kindly ask creators to be mindful when developing Mods. Content containing the following elements may need to be reviewed and could potentially be removed to maintain our community standards:
  1. - Content that conflicts with regional regulations applicable to our development team and the Steam platform, such as political content, inappropriate material involving minors, and similar topics.
  2. - Content that significantly misrepresents characters or storylines in ways that might cause community concern, or material referencing current events and real-world public figures.
  3. - Content incorporating copyrighted assets without proper authorization from rights holders.
  4. - Mods featuring AI-generated content.

Sultan's Game: Our First Month and Looking Ahead

Sultan's Game has been live for a month now!

...And what a magical whirlwind it's been!

Time has both raced and crawled, our emotions have soared and dipped, but through it all, we've achieved success beyond our wildest ambitions. The love from our player community has touched us deeply - we cannot thank you enough!

Looking forward, our journey with Sultan's Game continues. Beyond our regular bug fixes, here's what we're crafting for you:
  1. Refined Localizations. We're carefully reviewing feedback from our global players to refine our translations. Our exceptional localization specialists are working diligently to ensure both English and Japanese versions resonate authentically with their respective cultures. By July, expect polished, elegant translations that preserve the soul of the narrative while feeling natural to each language.

  2. MOD Support. This significant feature will arrive this May. Please note updates may cause compatibility issues with some MODs. If you encounter related bugs, please try to turn off or uninstall the MOD.

  3. More Plots. We're crafting additional Epilogues for existing endings, developing entirely new endings with their accompanying storylines, and enriching character stories - including Fate Shop unlockables and characters like Samir. Much of this writing is already underway.

  4. Crowdfunded Content. Development is progressing smoothly on the ten player-designed items and the community-voted character. We're on track to integrate these treasures by June!

  5. Visual Enhancements. Ending illustrations, story backgrounds, and some interesting little creations spontaneously developed by our art team - all currently in progress!

  6. Development of the Artbook. We're truly honored by your enthusiasm for this! Publishers have already signed on for the artbook of Sultan's Game, though we're still completing essential materials. Throughout the year, we'll be compiling this collection alongside our regular updates, with plans to offer both physical and digital editions when complete.


Your support continues to humble us. We can only repay this faith through our unwavering dedication to creating the best game possible.
