Roadmap and Future Plans

Today, we want to share a roadmap for Tlatoani post-Early Access launch. These plans are flexible and open to change - we’re committed to incorporating player feedback and prioritise community concerns over what is in the current iteration of the Roadmap. With that in mind, here’s a look at it…
EA improvements
Let’s start with what you can expect from Early Access:
  • We’ve revamped the tutorial and integrated it into the campaign. Legacy tutorial is still available in the scenarios sections.
  • Some of the citizen’s animations are now in place to add life to your city. We will be adding more as development continues.
  • You’ll also find new content, including a couple of new buildings, including monuments, and several new scenarios to explore.
  • And last but not least, we will add a random map generator for even more varied gameplay experiences.
Localization & Modding Support
Making Tlatoani accessible and customizable. We’re moving all definitions for buildings, citizens, terrain types, and cities to external .xml files, including English UI text, for easier editing and translation.
More Chapters for Historical Campaign
We’re on our way to expanding the Historical Campaign:
  • Chapter 1: Founding of Tenochtitlan
Experience the beginning of Tenochtitlan’s history with 10-12 missions and monument projects, including the early Templo Mayor. Currently, only the Tizaapan and Cuauhmixtitlan missions remain unfinished.
  • Chapter 2: Rise of the Triple Alliance
Covering the Tepanec-Mexica conquest of the Anahuac Valley and the Mexica/Acolhua revolt, this chapter includes 6-8 missions and additional new monuments.
  • Chapter 3: Rise of the Aztec Empire
This chapter will explore expansion outside the valley, conflicts with the Purepecha and Tlaxcalans, and the seeds of future discontent. Featuring 8-10 missions and additional monument projects.
Map & Scenario Editor
Map and scenario editor will add customization options for maps and events. Features will include a terrain editor, event triggers like invasions or gifts, and export options.
Extra Random Map Options
We plan to expand landform and climate options to add more variety to sandbox gameplay. Future options could include islands, peninsulas, and unique climates like maritime and deep desert environments.
Expanded Gameplay
• We have plans to expand gameplay options further, but they are low priority right now:
  • Noble VIPs – option to assign noble VIPs to venues to gain production and service bonuses.
  • Ruler events – ‘roleplay’ choices, including ‘technological advancements’.
  • Expanded military units – with possible new units such as archers, jaguar knights, and war priests.
  • Intrigue and diplomacy – systems for marriages, espionage, and unique gifts.
Visual & Audio Enhancements
To bring Tlatoani’s world to life, we’re enhancing both visuals and sound:
Building and Citizen Sprites – new citizen sprites are on the way and will increment gradually over time, and building sprite updates will be done over the coming months (but they will take some time).
Music & Sound Effects – Additional sound effects and custom music pieces for missions are planned to deepen the immersion.

That covers our current plans. Keep in mind, that this plan is flexible and there will likely be some changes made along the line, depending on the player feedback. If it comes to that, we’ll communicate any changes in the roadmap and priorities, as they happen.

hotfix for 1.4.1d

Hotfix for bug in maguey-farming objectives

Hotfix to 1.41.d
