Bugfixes and improvements

This is just a small update with mostly bug fixes.
  • Phoenix didn't spawn in boss rush mode
  • Extra life didn't work in boss rush mode
  • The secret-level boss wasn't a boss
  • Next button in the glossary now works as expected when using a controller/steam deck
  • Fixed translation errors


But I also improved some aspects of the game.
  • Full screen mode will now be saved, and the game will be set to full screen automatically
  • Exit game from main menu is now clearer
  • Added new enemies
  • Added time to local high score (last update)


Preparation for future updates
  • Added crit damage as stat (base 100%)
  • Added movement speed as stat (base 6)

"Trapper" update 1.1 now live

Since Periodicity - Hats and scars launched in December 2024, the game did pretty much as I expected. I got feedback, some valuable, some not so much, and I had some ideas left that didn't make it into the game.

So I continued development and here is the patch 1.1. Aside from bug fixes and performance improvements, I added new weapons to let you change up your playstyle. There are also new upgrades in some of the stores to help you on your way.
In terms of UI I tried to optimize the game for Steam Deck while also improving the 1920 x 1080 look and feel. Every vendor has a sign now so that you know which one is in which building. I also overhauled the glossary to show and explain almost all the items. This makes keeping track of items you have and don't have easier.

I hope you enjoy these changes and give Periodicity - Hats and scars another go. If you have any feedback, please use the community on Steam to let me know.

Thursday, the 30th, the new trapper update is launching.

This update brings 3 new weapons, new upgrades, and a new vendor.
Also new enemies, UI improvements, and bug fixes.

Periodicity - Hats and scars 1.0

Today the time has finally come.

The full version of Periodicity - Hats and scars is now available in store and starts with a big discount.

Many thanks to everyone who played the demo and gave feedback.

The full version has got a few more levels, weapons, tools and tricks. You can play it on Windows, Linux with Proton or on Steam Deck. There are 15 achievements to tackle, several leaderboards to climb and hats to find.

Steam cloud saves

Good news for everyone who has activated cloud saves. Now you can end a session on your Windows or Linux (proton) PC and continue playing later on your Steam Deck.
If you don't have Steam cloud saves enabled, you can of course save locally as normal.

[h2]Steam Achievements[/h2]
There are now Steam achievements. So you can show your friends what you can do. Maybe there are also a few incentives to start one more run.

[h2]Steam Leaderboards[/h2]
With the leaderboards on Steam, you can compete directly with your friends to see who can score the most points. There will also still be a local highscore.
