It’s time, it’s time!

Tempopo is a delightful and chaotic puzzle game, where you’ll instruct the Tempopo in how best to collect musical flowers to rebuild Hana’s lost garden. It’ll take you through four seasons of puzzles, collecting five different types of flowers, and you’ll have to avoid enemies like Chompers and Spike Bushes to solve these island puzzles and rescue the flowers. Hana will supervise and offer hints if you want them, and once you collect all the flowers within a season, lay them out in her garden, and she’ll conduct a tune for you.

You can pick between Puzzle Mode, where you’ll have to figure out what instruction to give as well as where to place it, and Adventure Mode, which helps you out by letting you know which squares are viable spots (this is great for younger players too!)

And of course, that’s not all—we’ve also created a Melody Garden where you can compose your own tunes, (or recreate your favourites!), additional Challenge Levels for those puzzle fiends among you, and even a Creative Mode, where you can choose any number of instructions to give your Tempopo to solve a level. If you lose track of which Tempopo is which, remember that you can give them accessories in the Options menu!

Tempopo is a real labor of love for the Witch Beam team, and we’ve been working at it for quite some time (that’s how it ended up as a cameo in Unpacking!)

We’re so glad that it’s out in the world now, and you can experience everything it has to offer. We love it very much.

As we’re a small studio, we appreciate all the love you can share, so if you feel inspired:
  • Spread the word to your friends, family, and favorite streamers
  • Leave a review
  • Share the news on social media

(of course, there’s no obligation there! We appreciate you regardless!)

And please, if you compose a tune in the Melody Garden, please tag us on social media (Bluesky, TikTok and Twitter) as we’d love to see it!

But now we’ll leave you to it—go and play Tempopo!

Cheers,

Emily and the Witch Beam team

Tempopo is coming out in ONE WEEK

Hello Tempeople!

We’re currently in the home stretch right now, as Tempopo releases in…LESS THAN A WEEK!

….and we can’t wait to hear what you think of it when it comes out. In terms of official details, we’ll be launching on April 17th at 16:00 GMT and if you’re wondering what that means for you, we’ve made a handy-dandy graphic!

If you had a chance to play the demo during Next Fest, you’ve got a lot to look forward to (and if you didn’t, you have even more!)

  • 60 total levels, across four seasons, which get progressively trickier as you play on!
  • 60 additional Challenge Levels once you complete the game—and they’re so hard that even I haven’t made it past the first one (complimentary)
  • Got a younger player, or looking for some guard rails? You can play in Adventure Mode, where the solution squares are highlighted, letting you concentrate on putting the right instructions in the right spots.
  • if you don't want any guard rails at all, you can turn on Creative Mode, where all instructions can be placed anywhere! This chaotic game mode favours players looking to find their own solutions without any help what so ever.
  • Beautiful music to solve puzzles by, as well as the opportunity to create your own music!

We've also been sharing more songs from the Melody Garden, so here are a few to tide you over for the next week when you can make music of your own!

(and here's a palate cleanser for that ;)

See you all next week!

The Melody Garden - a new way to make music in Tempopo!

There's one thing in Tempopo that we've been keeping up our sleeves, but couldn't wait any longer to give you a look at: the Melody Garden!

Unlocked once you complete the first season, Spring, it gives you the opportunity to compose music using any of the musical flowers that you'll collect throughout the game. Choose the type of scale (diatonic or chromatic*), set the tempo, choose the notes, and you can even mute flowers as you're playing it through if you want to set up a chorus or repeating melody. And of course, pick the season that you like the most - the instruments will shift slightly based on that as well!

Take a look at how it works - we've set it up to what we hope is a familiar tune to some, Chappell Roan's Pink Pony Club!

What songs should we try next? Which ones are you most excited to make in the Melody Garden?

Cheers,
Emily and the Witch Beam team

*A diatonic scale is what most people think of as a scale - C, D, E, F, etc. A chromatic scale will go up only by semitones, so C, C#, D, D#, E, etc etc.

Thanks for Playing!

Hello everyone!

We hope you had a great Next Fest, and managed to play loads of incredible demos, I know we did!

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to play the Tempopo demo, it really means the world to us 💖

We hope you had the best time learning to conduct the Tempopo to work together, we'd love to hear your feedback, so please do share any feedback you have with us!

We’re not far out from launch now, April 17th is looking pretty close! So make sure to wishlist the game if you haven’t already, and you’ll be the first to know when Hana’s garden is open for visitors.
