Mineral Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p]It's a great day for Sunny because we've reworked his beloved Minerals! We've added 7 new minerals and tweaked existing ones to help establish the identity of the Mineral tag. As part of this rework, all Minerals now trash for $2 instead of $1 by default.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As a result, Tin Cans no longer gain extra money from trashing since their Mineral tag inherently does so. Instead, every Tin Can contains a random ingredient that'll pop out when placed on the omelet![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]To help you find these new Minerals, Sir Pecks-a-Lot has added 2 new crates to the shop: a cheap Mineral crate and Trash Bag Bundle, which contains 2-5 Trash Bags but gives you a dollar! [/p][p][/p][p]We've also added 2 new helpers: one to help nullify the negative points of Minerals and another that gives good mult but decreases with each Dispense gained.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Finally, there's 4 new customers available with a new Trashy trait that permanently adds a Trash Bag to your pantry on restock. Wait, is that Sunny the Trash Dog?[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We've been seeing chefs celebrating getting every achievement, so to punish your boasting Principal Clucker has added 5 new achievements.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We've also made some changes following the Endless Update. First and foremost, we've been doing a ton of optimizations to improve performance in the late game. It should be much better, but please let us know if you're still experiencing poor performance.[/p][p][/p][p]We've been seeing chefs consistently get to Round 25+ before failing (usually due to performance, sorry!) We love that you can get that far but we want to ensure that Endless Mode remains engaging and challenging throughout and we're seeing most chefs blow past thresholds between rounds 12-20. [/p][p][/p][p]So we've decided to ramp up target thresholds quite drastically in Endless Mode. This will hopefully make the Endless experience more engaging and let you max your build before you get tired of it. As always, please let us know how you feel about these changes over on Discord![/p][p][/p][p]Next week's challenge will be built around one of the newest Minerals. Want to decide which one? Join our Discord to cast your vote![/p][p]Vote for the next Weekly![/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking, chefs![/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.9.05 Patch Notes

Content
Endless Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p]We hope you're ready for overtime because today we're dropping the long-awaited ENDLESS MODE![/p][p][/p][p]Now when you win a run, you'll have the option to continue in Endless Mode. This means you can keep playing forever and ever (until you fail). With a quickly escalating target threshold, how far can you go?[/p][p][/p][p]Stats like points scored with ingredients won't be recorded in Endless Mode since they are considered ill-gotten gains, but there is a separate leaderboard for those big-number chasing chefs to compete for the biggest number.[/p][p][/p][p]In case you missed it earlier this month, we've added Weekly Runs that change every Tuesday! Tomorrow's run will feature a couple of the new ingredients plus the dreaded Loan Shark.[/p][p][/p][p]We've made a couple quality of life changes that we think you'll love! Underlappers and Garnishes now always remain on their layer, so you can easily adjust those lettuces and provolones without having to rearrange everything.[/p][p][/p][p]Plus, we've made ingredient selection more intuitive so it will always prioritize selecting the topmost ingredient hovered unless you manually select a different ingredient with QE/arrows/mouse wheel.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Now onto the content! We've added 4 new ingredients, bringing us to a total of 101 ingredients! (it was supposed to be 100 but Grapes and Rasins are technically different I guess)[/p][p][/p][p]It's always been our goal to reach 100 ingredients, and we're thrilled to be here! We wanted to ensure these new ones had unique mechanical identities and to accomplish that I had to do a painfully large overhaul of our existing ingredient code. As a result there may be some bugs I haven't spotted, please report them and I'll be fixing whatever pops up over the next couple weeks.[/p][p][/p][p](Hjalte also had time to make some of the old sprites prettier and the avocado has a new effect)[/p][p][/p][p]We're also introducing 5 exciting new helpers! Some of these change value over time or buff a randomly chosen tag that changes each round.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We've also added one of the most highly requested features: being able to open the catalogue mid-run. Using the burger menu in the upper right, you can now double check what ingredients you need to progress unlocks or what ingredients might show up in any given crate.[/p][p][/p][p]Lastly for my fellow achievement hunters we've introduced 13 new achievements! Some of them relate to Endless Mode, some are for completing pantries, and some require you to overcome challenges a specific way. Let us know which ones are your favorites![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Thus marks our 2nd major update. With 12 total content updates over 4 months, Hjalte and I have been working hard delivering content to our loyal chefs! Now that we've reached the end of our clearly defined public roadmap, we'll be taking some time to recuperate and come up with a plan for upcoming updates.[/p][p][/p][p]There's still some important features we plan to introduce throughout early access (including mid-run saves, black apron, and of course more ingredients/helpers/customers). But we need your help! Tell us what features you want most! What frustrates you? Any new content you'd love to see?[/p][p][/p][p]We'll be listening to everything and discussing with our community here and on Discord to come up with an updated roadmap of sorts that we'll share in the coming weeks. If you have gripes with the game or strong desires now is the time to let us know![/p][p][/p][p]Join the Discord to: [/p]
• [p]vote for upcoming Weekly Pantries[/p]
• [p]share your best runs[/p]
• [p]join dope free game giveaways[/p]
• [p]discuss with other chefs what you want from Omelet You Cook![/p]
[p][/p][p]We're also on sale for 20% off! As noted on our roadmap, the price will increase slightly (to $12 USD) after this discount, so now is the cheapest it'll be for awhile! Go tell your friends to get it now![/p][p][/p][p]Happy cooking,[/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.9 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]Endless Mode[/p]
• [p]Separate leaderboards for every existing leaderboard, toggle in Omelet Selection screen[/p]
• [p]Open the Catalogue during runs (button in upper right)[/p]
• [p]4 new ingredients[/p]
• [p]Avocado has new effect, Cauliflower replaces old effect[/p]
• [p]This brings us to a total of 101 ingredients![/p]
• [p]5 new helpers[/p]
• [p]13 new achievements[/p]
Quality of Life
• [p]Underlappers/Garnishes will always stay on their assigned layer[/p]
• [p]No more accidentally clicking on that graham cracker and ruining your perfect S'more[/p]
• [p]This should help you extinguish burning fires since you can put them back more easily[/p]
• [p]When hovering ingredients, it will always prefer the topmost ingredient unless you manually select a different one (with Q/E, arrows, or mouse wheel)[/p]
• [p]It should feel much more intuitive which ingredient you have selected now. Previously if you hovered a lettuce and then hovered something overlapping it, the lettuce would stay selected[/p]
• [p]You can now always play the Weekly Run, even if you haven't unlocked the ingredients[/p]
• [p]Added tutorial for Fool's Gold[/p]
• [p]Tweaked Customer X animation (upon entering shop, showing you defeated the last customer)[/p]
• [p]The previous X that flashed the screen was straining for some users[/p]
• [p]Oranges/Lemons/Limes show their increased value in pantry tooltips now[/p]
• [p]Uploaded new demo build (v0.8.33)[/p]
Balance
• [p]Wannabe DJ no longer appears in Turn-Based mode[/p]
• [p]While it doesn't impose a time pressure, some users reported feeling dizzy or stressed from this customer trait. So now it will only appear in the more chaotic real-time mode.[/p]
• [p]Jackfruit and Watermelon now require touching[/p]
• [p]Previously, you could just throw them on the omelet without any consideration and score 10+ easily. Every high-scoring ingredient should require some consideration, either in deckbuilding or placement. This required neither and was therefore poorly designed.[/p]
• [p]Because they require touching now, their massive size is both a benefit and a detriment.[/p]
• [p]Meatball has 4 in create instead of 5[/p]
• [p]Slight nerf to meatball builds so you need multiple crates/copies to really pop off[/p]
• [p]Increased target thresholds on later rounds of Red Apron slightly[/p]
Art
• [p]New art for Cabbage, Celery[/p]
• [p]New art for Gordak the Burninator[/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]Fixed bug where you'd still get random ingredients after firing Mystery Box[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Sandra Squeaker didn't work[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where GO button wouldn't appear in shop when trashing quickly[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where Red Onion wouldn't show that it earns money for touching another Red Onion[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where game didn't pause while catalogue open[/p]
• [p]Fixed Chanterelle typo[/p]
• [p]Fixed typo where "Random Helper" button from Crate o' Helpers said "ingredient"[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where rounds tooltip wouldn't appear[/p]

Mini S'mores Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p]We weren't planning on doing an update until the end of September, but we had these marshmallows laying around and we're honestly a bit addicted to all your kind words whenever we drop new content so here's the Mini S'mores Update![/p][p][/p][p]This is a tiny update featuring 2 new ingredients, and 2 new helpers including a new Mythic for Scoochie Special.[/p][p][/p][p]What I'm most excited about is a feature we fast-tracked from our upcoming Major Update: Weekly Runs![/p][p][/p][p]Every Tuesday, there will be a brand-new starter pantry! This starter pantry will come with a predetermined Mode and Apron, so everyone will be competing on the same leaderboard.[/p][p][/p][p]These Weekly Runs will provide a more focused leaderboard experience for you chefs out there with a competitive spirit. Since these are time-limited, we won't worry so much about balance and just make fun combos and/or unique challenges.[/p][p][/p][p]To showcase the new content, our inaugural Weekly starter pantry will of course be S'mores themed! Check back on September 23rd and every Tuesday for new Weekly Runs![/p][p][/p][p]Lastly, we want to show you the new post-run summary screen. There's now stats highlighting your best ingredients, the time elapsed, money earned, your personal best score, and your leaderboard rank.[/p][p][/p][p]We also added a button to save a screenshot of your summary screen to Steam! We hope this feature lets you more easily share some of your favorite runs. We'd love to see some of your favorites on Discord![/p][p][/p][p]Speaking of Discord, we'll be running a poll to determine the theme of the next Weekly Starter Pantry. Join now to decide what we're cooking next week!

Vote Now![/p][p][/p][p]We've also added some pretty neat quality of life improvements to help you understand all these wacky new tags more easily. See the patch notes for details.[/p][p][/p][p]We're hard at work on the 2nd Major Update, coming at the very end of September! See you then, chefs![/p][p][/p][p]-Chef Schu

• [p]Same as Infinite Mystery Box, but also gives you extra ingredients to choose from while trashing so you have more control over your pantry[/p]
• [p]Infinite Mystery Box rarity changed to Uncommon[/p]
Quality of Life
• [p]Post-Match Summary Screen Rework[/p]
• [p]Added stats for most used/highest scoring ingredients, time, $ earned, personal best and rank[/p]

• [p]Confetti particles don't overlap UI[/p]
• [p]Tweaked how ingredients are dispensed[/p]
• [p]In turn-based mode, the conveyor stops once all ingredients are centered[/p]
• [p]This is how it worked for both modes before[/p]
• [p]In real-time mode, the conveyor slows down as soon as they're all visible[/p]
• [p]This is new and will give you slightly more time to decide in real-time mode[/p]
• [p]Increased width that ingredients spawn on trash belt (so they're not so crammed together)[/p]
• [p]Reworked tooltip descriptions for tags so you know where points come from. Some examples:[/p]
• [p]"-1x to self (Wrapped)"[/p]
• [p]this ingredient is Wrapped and usually won't score on its own[/p]
• [p]"+5 pts (On Fire +3)"[/p]
• [p]this ingredient scores 2 on its own (like Bacon), and 3 from fire[/p]
• [p]-3 pts (Moldy)[/p]
• [p]Previously Lobster Mushroom just said -3 pts. Now it's clear it comes from the Mold[/p]

• [p]Reworked Finisher helper[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where it wouldn't apply if you have more dispenses than ingredients[/p]
• [p]Now if you ignore dispensed ingredients, it'll still apply to the last chosen ingredient[/p]
• [p]Particles are scaled properly on saved omelets displayed in post-match[/p]

Spicy Hot Fire Update

[p]Hello chefs![/p][p][/p][p]2 weeks ago you voted on our Discord for the Spicy Hot Fire Update, and here it is! We've finally given some meaning to the Spicy tag and added 5 more Spicy ingredients to the catalogue (plus 3 non-Spicy ones). So what does Spicy do now?[/p][p][/p][p]Spicy ingredients start 🔥On Fire🔥, which means they'll score an extra 3 points at the end of the round. After some time, On Fire ingredients will start burning which spreads the fire to touching ingredients and eventually leads to them becoming Burnt, scoring a massive -10 points instead. But don't worry, you can give them a little shake to extinguish them.[/p][p][/p][p]We've also added 3 new Pyromaniac Customers who want to see a bit of chaos and will occasionally throw lit matches onto your omelets.

[/p][p]All of this can be experienced in a brand new Spicy starter pantry![/p][p][/p][p]We've also made some quality of life adjustments you can check out in the patch notes. If you have ideas for more let us know![/p][p][/p][p]Our next update will be the highly requested Endless Update, coming at the very end of September. We've got a long list of features we want to add to make the game even more replayable. As a reminder, here's our current roadmap. Your feedback and requests will help us fill it out in the coming months![/p][p][/p][p]We're also running our first of many free game giveaways and some polls to figure out what content you've enjoyed most so far over on our Discord![/p][p]Enter the Giveaway![/p][p][/p][p]We of course also need to acknowledge that thanks to you we've crossed 400 reviews and somehow still 100% positive! That's insane and we truly appreciate you chefs for helping us achieve that milestone. We'll be doing something big once we hit 500![/p][p][/p][p]Thanks for cooking with us chefs,[/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.8.30 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]8 new ingredients[/p]
• [p]new Spicy starter pantry[/p]
• [p]new Mythic helper[/p]
• [p]new Pyromaniac customer trait[/p]
• [p]3 new Pyromaniac customers[/p]
• [p]Added On Fire and Burnt tags[/p]
• [p]On Fire gives +3 pts[/p]
• [p]Burnt gives -10 pts[/p]
• [p]new Spicy crate available in shop[/p]
• [p]a secret new interaction?[/p]
Quality of Life
• [p]Ingredient rotation is no longer dependent on framerate[/p]
• [p]Tutorial popups appear the first time you have a Spicy, Underlapper, or Garnish ingredient[/p]
• [p]We plan to add more of these and eventually other ways to help chefs remember what unexplained mechanics do without being overwhelming or repetitive[/p]
• [p]Mold, Gold, On Fire, and Burnt tooltips explain in parentheses when points come from that tag[/p]
• [p]Added slight delay to "Continue" button in shop so you don't click it before seeing the options[/p]
Balance
• [p]Forks and Matchsticks can't spawn during the last chance timer[/p]
• [p]Banana[/p]
• [p]"+1 pt per 2 ingredients in discard" changed to "+0.1x per ingredient in discard"[/p]
• [p]Added Wrapped tag[/p]
• [p]Chili [/p]
• [p]"+1 pt per ingredient on omelet" changed to "+2 pts to each ingredient touching"[/p]
• [p]Reduced rarity to Rare[/p]
• [p]We wanted to give Spicy a clear identity of buffing ingredients they touch[/p]
• [p]Chili was picked 74% of the time, a whopping 10% more than the 2nd highest ingredient (Lime). We tend to avoid nerfing things just for being good but considering the other points and the fact this ingredient was so far ahead of others (the average being around 32% pick rate), it was an easy decision to rework it[/p]
• [p]Jalapeno[/p]
• [p]"+1x to touching ingredients, -5 per touching ingredient" changed to "+4 pts to touching ingredients, -2pts per touching ingredient"[/p]
• [p]Jalapeno's old ability has been given to the new Spicy pepper that Jalapeno unlocks because we feel it's more befitting of a Legendary ingredient[/p]
• [p]Category Collector (Helper)[/p]
• [p]"$0.25 per distinct tag on omelet" to "$0.25 per 2 distinct tags on omelet"[/p]
• [p]Using just 2-3 ingredients chefs were already getting $2+ every round, which felt far too strong for the amount of skill/thought needed. This should still be quite strong for chefs using diverse pantries[/p]
• [p]Corn Dog[/p]
• [p]Reduced rarity to Rare (it's a weird ingredient but not good enough to be Legendary)[/p]
Art
• [p]New Baked icon (On Fire uses the old one)[/p]
• [p]New Fruit Crate visual[/p]
• [p]Root Crate renamed to Root Sack[/p]
• [p]Note: Our artist, Hjalte, was a lil extra busy so our programmer, Schu, did a few assets for this update. Hjalte has been gradually replacing the original assets that no longer meet our quality bar. So basically if you see any assets that look kinda mid that's my bad and Hjalte will fix it eventually :)[/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]Fixed bug where sometimes Helpers didn't earn money when they should[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where tooltips could be slightly offscreen for ingredients in bottom row of pantry[/p]
• [p]Fixed tutorial that said "Sir Peck-a-Lot" instead of "Sir Pecks-a-Lot". Put some respect on his name[/p]
• [p]Fixed 2 instances where UI said "Relic" instead of "Helper"[/p]

Cheesy Update

[p]Welcome, chefs![/p][p][/p][p]Cheese - the glue that holds together every great omelet. We've rebalanced existing cheeses and added 6 new ones to help ensure every omelet can be enhanced to its fullest extent. Maybe you'll create something extra cheesy?[/p][p][/p][p]Huh, someone left a couple uncommon veggies laying around. You might as well take them too, chef.[/p][p][/p][p]As for the helpers, there are 7 new ones! Many of these helpers will help enhance these new cheeses. One of them even unlocks the true potential of Moldy ingredients. Perhaps you'll try it with the new Blue Cheese?[/p][p][/p][p]I'll allow you to discover what they all do yourself, chef! That's all for this update, but the next update will be decided by YOU! Head over to our Discord where you can participate in a poll that will determine what our next update will include. This next one will probably take around 2 weeks this time, and afterwards we'll begin working on our 2nd Major Update: Endless Mode which will arrive in late September.[/p][p][/p][p]So what do you want to see, chef? More Seafood? Tiny, undetectable legumes? Sticky Ingredients? A new radius mechanic? Or maybe some Hot Spicy Fire?[/p][p] Vote Now![/p][p][/p][p]See you in a couple weeks, chefs![/p][p]-Chef Schu[/p][p][/p]
v0.8.28 Patch Notes

Content
• [p]8 new ingredients[/p]
• [p]6 new cheeses[/p]
• [p]2 new uncommon veggies[/p]
• [p]7 new helpers[/p]
• [p]Cheese Rebalanced[/p]
• [p]There's now a cheese for each Texture and Preparation tag, as well as some cheeses that enable Dairy-focused builds and more well rounded cheeses. Our goal with this update was to make it so chefs want to use a cheese or 2 in their builds, just like any omelet is better with cheese.[/p]
• [p]American Cheese buffs everything Processed[/p]
• [p]Cheddar buffs Soft gives points to touching Dairy ingredients[/p]
• [p]Havarti removed[/p]
• [p]Tags and rarities adjusted[/p]
• [p]Common cheeses now unlock more advanced cheeses[/p]
Art
• [p]Swiss cheese uses Havarti graphic[/p]
• [p]New Goat Cheese graphic[/p]
• [p]New Brie graphic[/p]
Balance
• [p]Fired Helpers trigger themself first before being destroyed[/p]
• [p]Exotic Supplier now grants a legendary ingredient when fired[/p]
• [p]Severance Package can no longer be fired[/p]
• [p]Moldy Customers have 50% 40% chance of applying Moldy to ingredients[/p]
• [p]Moldy can't appear in first 2 rounds[/p]
• [p]We like that Moldy is a difficult trait and one that may require some planning to counter. Now you'll always have at least 2 rounds to prepare your pantry for Moldy and should have more dispenses that aren't full mold. We'll continue to monitor the difficulty.[/p]
• [p]Cucumber now unlocks Pickle, Goat Cheese unlocks Brie[/p]
• [p]You'll need to unlock both of these to play Scoochie Special again[/p]
Bug Fixes
• [p]Reworked colliders again to improve framerate (DJs should be better)[/p]
• [p]Fixed Grower/Shrinker customer traits (again)[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where ingredients wouldn't pulse transparently when off omelet[/p]
• [p]Fixed bug where all outlines would highlight when hovering helpers from crate[/p]
• [p]Probably fixed bug where game could soft lock during scoring if ingredient was taken by conveyor belt at the start of scoring[/p]
• [p]If this happens to you, please send your \/AppData/LocalLow/SchuBoxGames/OmeletYouCook/Player.log to [email protected], or in our Discord. Thank you![/p]
