The Succession of Changing Kings News

Save System Rework.

[p]The save system has been redesigned for the “Story Only” and “Normal” game modes.[/p][p]You can now choose from multiple save files.[/p]

Significant gameplay balance changes

Quest balance

Achievement balance

Effect balance

Balance of buildings and servants in the King’s study. Please note! Some buildings now provide a small health boost every 5–6 turns. This is not yet displayed in the study itself — one more technical adjustment is needed to pull this parameter in without breaking the layout — but the mechanic is already working.

The first fixes for Act III are now available

[p]Your valuable feedback and suggestions have already been received. I’m making sure not to put them on the back burner.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed localization for new buildings[/p]
  • [p]Discovered a bug that prevented 8 quests from appearing! This affected all 3 acts, and the quests themselves are quite important[/p]
  • [p]Balance adjustments applied[/p]
  • [p]Corrected some images[/p]
[p]In addition, 3 new quests and events have been added. Two of them are tied to the new buildings.[/p]

The third part of your adventure in Valendor is now available

[p]Yesterday, I published a post about the current plans. I won’t repeat myself, but I want to stress one important point: the game is still in Early Access, and the third act will continue to be polished toward perfection. Your feedback and suggestions are essential to this — I’ll be waiting for them as eagerly as Father Lumiel awaits the return of the Patriarch.[/p]

Rulers of Valendor!

[p]On September 27, the 3rd Act of your reign will be released. Based on the experience of launching the previous act, I’d like to highlight a few points and make some announcements:[/p]
  1. [p]Bug fixes.
During the first ten days after release, I will be actively fixing issues based on your feedback. Act III has a huge amount of branching, and some event chains may not work as intended. I tested everything thoroughly, but in Act II I was still receiving critical reports from you for almost a month. So, if you don’t want to take part in “forced beta-testing,” you may want to wait about 10 more days before playing.[/p]
  2. [p]Voice-over.
The game now features two versions of voice-over in both Russian and English: narrated and machine. However, the narrated English version will not yet be available for Act III and will be added a bit later.[/p]
  3. [p]Optimization.
The game has already grown quite large — partly due to the voice-overs and also more than a thousand images. After releasing Act III and fixing the most important issues, I will focus on internal optimization. You won’t notice visual changes, but without this step it will be difficult to release Act IV: sound conflicts are already appearing due to the project’s earlier architecture.[/p]
  4. [p]Visual effects.
As usual, visual effects will be added to Act III gradually.[/p]
  5. [p]New buildings.
Three new buildings have been added to the game. They will come with their own quests and events, but these will be released later as a separate update.[/p]
  6. [p]Reminder.
The game is still in Early Access. I’ll be very grateful for any errors you find — including grammar mistakes. Your feedback and comments are truly inspiring, and when my kids read them — that’s a special joy for me.[/p]
[p]⚠️ Important note.
I can’t give you an exact release time for Act III, since Steam performs periodic checks on large updates, and this can cause delays.[/p]
