Oortmas is Here!

It's here folks, Merry Oortmas!

For the next two weeks, wintry snow will be seen throughout the Known Worlds, and many Creatures will be seen sporting little Oortmas Hats. You’ll want to keep a keen eye out for these, as they’ll drop extra-special Green Candy Canes.

Green Candy Canes can be used to Craft decorative Gift Boxes and festive Oortmas Trees. Red Candy Canes are gained through special Snowball Meteorite events (more on those in a moment) and are used to Craft Snow Citizens. This year, Citizens can also Craft special Twinkles to deck the halls of their Builds!

Of course, we’ve got a whole host of new Wearables coming to the Exchange for a limited time only. Once again, the ever-popular Father Oortmas beards, Rudolph the Red Nosed Wildstock antlers and Snow Citizen mask will all be available. These are joined this year by the Oortmas Hat and three designs of Winter Scarf.

We’ve also introduced the brand new Candy Totem, which is grown from special Candy Seeds before being harvested and used as a Tool. Pretty Sweet, huh!

Now, more about these Snowball Meteorites! For the duration of the Winter Event, special Snowball Fight Meteorite events will occur on Starter Worlds. Rather than a regular strike, a giant Snowball will crash to the surface of the World, bringing with it a swarm of special Snow Spitters, which will launch their chilly projectiles at Citizens, and are impervious to regular Weapons.

You’ll have to fight snow with snow! Gather enough Ice from the Meteorite to Handcraft a Bag of Snowballs, and give the icy critters everything you’ve got! These will do direct damage to one target, and are only effective against Snow Spitters. There will also be no Defeat Penalty on these events, with Players instead building up ‘embarrassment’ from being hit, before heading to the sanctum having lost their ‘Meteorite Life’. As well as Red Candy Canes the rewards for these Snowball Fights include Food, Brews and Gifts. Poorly behaved Citizens may end up with Coal…

See you all in there for a snowball fight!

Release 237: Stability and Oortmas Preparations!

We’ve just released an update to Boundless - this one is focused on stability for the coming holiday season, and contains some fixes for the presentation of Beacon Fuel and Gleam Club duration.

Today's update is less based around features, and more around stability/quality of life. It does, however, include all the architecture for our upcoming Winter Event...

Now, onto the Winter Event...

It’s beginning to look a lot like Oortmas! To celebrate the holidays, Boundless is getting festive for two weeks. Starting on the 19th December and running to the 2nd January, we’ll be reliving all the fun of last year’s event, plus a whole bunch of new goodies!

Release 235: Chiselable Glass, and the return of Gleambow Racing!

Hey folks,

It’s here - Release no. 235 of Boundless is hot off the press and ready to go!

This update brings the rest of our suite of closed storage items, with Wicker, Stone and Gleam versions all ready to be added to your builds. These are all available in Plain, Stylish or Ornate variants, so with such a wide range of storage items available, there’s something to fit everyone’s beacon.

The second new piece of content this time out is three new Glass blocks, available in Plain, Stylish or Ornate variants. These look similar to the Glass Panes you may be familiar with, but in block form this time. These can be chiselled and tinted, so we’re looking forward to seeing what creative uses you can all come up with for this new addition to the Boundless builder’s toolkit. With a full colour palette with which to tint them, these blocks will lend a new dimension to the way interiors are lit in the game. We’ve also removed the placement restriction on Glass Panes, so we can’t wait to see what you can do with these!

This update also includes all the new Gleambow Racing goodies, which will be unlocked when the event starts at 1200GMT on Thursday the 28th November.

Alongside all this, we’ve got the usual raft of fixes, tweaks and updates. For more on those, head over to the full patch notes here;

Release 233: 6x Closed Storage and 42x Building Blocks!

Hello Everyone,

It’s that time again, we are currently rolling out the latest update to Boundless! Next time you head into the game, you’ll find some great new content to play with, alongside all the usual tweaks and fixes that go into a regular release.

For a while, players have been asking for a wider range of decorations for your Builds, so we thought we’d put together something which both adds style and function for your Beacons.

We’ve expanded the suite of Storage options available to all Citizens. This first batch includes a Plain Chest, Ornate Box, and Stylish Barrel in Wood, and a range in Stone. Now you can keep your Resources stashed away while displaying the pride of your collection on Shelves and open Storage Blocks.

A huge range of new Blocks are making their Boundless debut with this update. Concrete, Metal Filigree, Trellises and a Decorative Frieze are just some of the new arrivals. From vast Fish Scale Mosaic decorations to elaborate sci-fi designs resembling Circuit Board, we can’t wait to see what Citizens can come up with!

With such a wide selection of materials available for building, we can’t wait to see what some of our super creative citizens can come up with this time. Be sure to share your screenshots with us!

This release also contains the architecture for our Halloween event, kicking off on Thursday! For all the details on that, you can head to our separate thread, and check out what’s coming to spook you this year in Boundless.

If you’d like to see the detailed patch notes, they’re available on our forum as always;
