v0.71.0 - Trading improvements, optimizations

v0.71.0 is released, making changes to the trader.



I was watching CG Plays play Stormbridge and noticed he got confused between 'Tooth' and 'Trading Token'. It also wasn't clear when you were giving away items and not getting anything back.

So firstly, I changed the name of the primary currency to 'Coin'.



Secondly, the confirmation dialog shows you are giving away items for free if you did not select an item to buy.



Thirdly, the row showing the coin glows a different colour from the rest and has an animation.



Lastly, 'Trading Token' will now only appear after visiting the Home Island, or on the second trade onward on the first run (past 200m).

v0.70.1 - Rewards when losing

I want the game to reward you EXP and items even when you lose against the first storm, so the game has been changed to give rewards even if you lose, I hope this encourages progression and makes it feel like you progress despite the outcome!



- When losing to first storm, you now get EXP and rewards instead of returning to menu
- Fix settler counts overflow at 9999/9999
- Fix professions UI disappearing when settler is un-trained
- Fix settler playing walk animation when idle due to CPU overload
- Fix charcoal efficiency research visual text error

v0.70.0 - Skill tree!

A skill tree has been added to the game!



Only the first skill is available in the demo at the moment, but there is a sneak peek of 7 other skills that will be in the full version.



As you complete runs, you gain EXP. When you level up, you'll gain skill points and be able to spend them on a brand new skill tree at the workshop.



The skills have extremely high level caps, and can be upgraded almost infinitely compared to regular research.

In future, the skill tree can be expanded to give you mana regeneration and exciting spells you can cast. Some spells I have ideated are:

  • Repair - MP-50, instantly repair the last X buildings destroyed by the storm
  • Shield - MP-50, instantly add a shield to the nearest building
  • Vehicle - MP-200, summon a vehicle
  • Turbo Boost - MP-50, for 60 seconds, all building production speed x2
  • Pushback - MP-100, push the storm back 50 meters


The skill tree goes hand in hand with another system: Milestones.



Milestones can give you skill points or item rewards, and they will be added in a subsequent update!

v0.69.3 - Fixes / leaderboard

This update fixes a critical issue when playing the game on some languages. Sorry for the inconvenience!

- Fix critical bug on Chinese languages
- Fix quit popup appearing repeatedly after wishlisting
- Fix leaderboard name text overflow

Also the game has a leaderboard! It is accessible on the left of the Home Island after you unlock it and it's cool to see people already beating my highscores in several categories haha.



Please let me know if you encounter any issues and I will be sure to fix them.
Meanwhile I am working on the next v0.70 update which will introduce new content!
