Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]First of all, thank you for your incredible interest in our demo! We’ve received dozens of feedback messages from you, and we’ve already started working on them.[/p][p][/p][p]Today, we’ll be answering some of the most common questions you’ve asked![/p][p][/p]
Technical Questions
[p]Why is there no save/load option in the demo? Will it be available in the full game?
Yes, future versions of the game will include save/load functionality. We disabled it for the demo because it was designed as a short 1–2 hour experience to give players a sense of the gameplay and its world. The goal was to showcase what Valorborn can become, rather than provide a long campaign experience.[/p][p][/p][p]Will Valorborn support co-op or multiplayer in the future?
No. Valorborn has always been designed as a single-player experience.[/p][p][/p][p]Will there be localization in other languages?
Yes! The full version will officially support multiple languages. During Early Access, English will be the main language, but other languages will be available as beta localizations. We’ll also share the localization files (Lockit) publicly, so the community can easily add their own languages to the game.[/p][p] [/p]
Gameplay and Mechanics
[p]What is the combat style in Valorborn?
Valorborn uses a tactical, stat-based combat system not an action-reflex system. Characters improve through practice and training, and combat focuses on positioning, tactics, and decision-making.[/p][p][/p][p]How do characters gain experience? Is it skill-based or class-based leveling?
Characters gain experience by performing actions. Chopping wood improves woodcutting, mining improves mining, and so on. On top of that, each character also has an overall level. When it increases, you can manually assign points to four core stats, allowing you to shape your character’s growth however you like.[/p][p][/p][p]Do weapons unlock unique abilities or combos over time?
Yes. Characters who specialize in certain weapons will unlock new attacks and finishing moves. Hand-to-hand combat can evolve into martial arts, swords unlock new stances, and other weapons have their own mastery paths.[/p][p][/p][p]Will magic or wizard classes be in the game?
YES- absolutely! Magic will be part of Valorborn. We’re putting a lot of work into making the magic system deep, dynamic, and fun.[/p][p][/p][p]Will necromancy or summoning undead be possible?
Yes. Alongside the main magic system, there will also be necromancy and summoning elements in the game.[/p][p][/p][p]Will there be playable fantasy races besides humans?
Not at the start of Early Access. Other playable races are planned for future updates.[/p][p][/p][p]Is there a party limit? How many companions can we recruit?
There’s no fixed cap. You can recruit as many companions as you can handle and afford to manage.[/p][p][/p][p]Is there permadeath? Can characters die permanently?
Yes. Characters can die permanently (In the demo, this feature was intentionally disabled).[/p][p][/p][p]Will characters be captured or enslaved?
Yes. Characters will be knocked out, robbed, kidnapped, or even enslaved by certain hostile factions.[/p][p][/p][p]Does the game world evolve without the player?
Yes. Faction wars, dynamic world events, and other changes will happen even without your direct involvement.[/p][p][/p][p]Can we build our own camp or settlement?
Yes. You can build temporary camps and, later, permanent settlements, including large castles. Permanent settlements will be introduced with the first major Early Access update.[/p][p][/p][p]Will our settlement be attacked by other factions?
Yes. Bandits and rival factions will raid your base, especially if you build it in dangerous or contested areas.[/p][p][/p][p]What happens if we build a base on another faction’s land?
Depending on the faction, they may demand taxes, enforce their own laws, or even start a conflict with you.[/p][p][/p][p]Will there be survival mechanics like hunger and cold?
Yes. Characters need food, and environmental effects like heat or cold will impact them based on the biome they’re in.[/p][p][/p][p]Is there a quest system or guild halls?
Yes. Valorborn features quests and multiple guilds you can join or work with. As you progress within them, you’ll unlock significant rewards.[/p][p][/p][p]Can NPCs be automated to gather and build while the player is away?
Yes! This was one of the most requested features. You’ll be able to assign automated tasks to your characters — chopping wood, collecting resources, crafting, and more. And even set task queues. This feature was disabled in the demo, but will be fully functional in Early Access.[/p][p][/p]
World
[p]How big is the game map? Will it expand over time?
The map already includes dozens of locations, and we plan to expand it with major content updates every 2–3 months during Early Access.[/p][p][/p][p]Will there be rare legendary weapons or armor?
Yes. You’ll be able to find or craft powerful legendary gear as you progress through the game.[/p][p][/p][p]When will Early Access release?
Originally, we aimed for late 2025. However, after the incredible feedback from players and recognizing how much more we want to improve, we’ve decided to delay Early Access to 2026. It’s too early to share an exact date, but 2026 is certain.[/p][p][/p][p]How will the team handle updates and feedback?
We plan to release major updates every 2–3 months, with smaller patches as needed. Player feedback will play a direct role in shaping development.[/p][p][/p][p]We tried to cover as many of your questions as possible, but if you have more, feel free to ask us on the Steam forums or our Discord server.[/p][p]Discord: https://discord.com/invite/xUV8yvKsFV[/p][p][/p][p]Have a great weekend![/p]
