On A Roll 3D - Version 2.2.1 Released

Here's another release with a ton of graphical updates, particularly to the UI, including text, menus, buttons and so on.

This update should also fix the long-standing issues some people have been having with setting screen resolutions, where resolutions weren't being remembered, or were getting stuck at certain sizes that couldn't be changed from the menu. If anyone does have any further issues with this, just drop us an e-mail or post on the forums.

For those that don't know, the game was release on the Xbox One last month, so this update brings the Steam version in line with the changes made on that platform.

Thanks!

Square Route

For fans of our ever-increasing presence on Steam, we've just released our fourth game - Square Route!

It's a puzzle game a bit like Lemmings where you must guide up to four squares to their targets by modifying their terrain using turntables, springs, reversed gravity and ladders, and building/destroying platforms.

It has 120 levels and, as with all our games, a set of Steam achievements and full controller support.

You can check it out here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/678930

Thanks to everyone for your continued support for our games, it's super appreciated!

On A Roll 3D Version 2.1.4 Released

We've released an update to On A Roll 3D which coincides with the exciting news that it is now available on the iOS App Store for iPad and iPhone!

We've brought the Steam version in line with the changes we've made for that platform, so here are a few new bits for you:

General Improvements
  • Added on-screen controls for devices that support touch screen. Simply touch the screen in-game for them to appear and use the keyboard or a joystick to make them disappear.
  • The number of lives displayed in-game has been moved up to the top-left corner with the score, time and stars. This is to ensure on-screen controls and hints can squeeze into the bottom area of the screen.
  • Fixed a couple of memory leaks that could have caused the game to slow down after starting a lot of levels.
  • Made a few minor physics tweaks to make killing enemies and hitting bumpers and springs a little more tolerant and a little less frustrating.
  • Fixed an issue with the camera sometimes being a bit jerky on steep platforms.

Graphics Improvements
  • Added support for better quality shadows. Shadows can now be off, low quality, medium quality or high quality. If you had shadows on previously they will now be set to Low Quality, so be sure to increase the quality if your hardware can support it! This can be changed via the Display Options menu.
  • Similarly, added support for better water reflections. Previously water reflections could be on or off, but a third option to allow both water reflection and refraction (which looks really cool!) has been added. If you had reflections on before, this setting will now default to "Reflections Only", so add refractions as well if you can (again this is via the Display Options menu).

Thanks everyone for your continued support for the game. Although we are expanding onto new platforms, we're committed to ensuring the Steam version remains as up to date as possible.

On A Roll 3D - Version 2.1.2 Update...

Just a minor update this one with one bit of requested functionality...

Improvements
  • Added a "Restart Game From This Level" option to the pause menu. Useful for speed runners so they don't have to go back to the main menu to retry a level. Thanks "ledwith112" and "Mapsking" for this idea.
  • Pre-loads level music before the level begins so levels start up about three times as quickly as they did before.

Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where jumping enemies weren't always jumping if two of them were rolling very closely together.
