Pre Next-Fest Update

  • [p]Added device selection on the voice chat menu, allowing you to change what microphone is used,[/p]

Added in-game Proximity Chat
Added in-game Spectate voice channel so players can communicate in game while dead
Additional Settings have been added to both the Main Menu and Pause Menu
Added 'Pocket Doctor' to the shop
Added 'Compass' to the shop
All options are now changeable from the Pause Menu
Added a Server Browser to the Main Menu so you can join Public games
Added the ability to make Private servers

Slightly changed death camera animation
Added a small delay between dying and spectating
You can now pause the game while spectating
Reduced Whiner and Widow damage
Reduced dither effect slightly as it was a bit hard to look at in certain lighting conditions
Bug Spray is now automatically removed from your inventory and destroyed when out of uses
Suit customisations will now stay applied after being revived
Changed some item spawning information
Slightly reduced size of player interact collision

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
Fixed a bug that caused a visual mismatch between the actual inventory and the inventory's UI
Whiner AI no longer breaks after its first attack
Fixed a bug that caused the Reaper to deal more damage than intended
Fixed bug that allowed players to survive falling into the trench in the Deepwater Trench map, causing them to be stuck

This will be our last major update to the Demo before release in July! We ended up compressing a lot of changes into this one so we could release one big patch before Next Fest rather than several smaller ones.

We will still release regular patches to fix bugs as they become known to us, so please, if you find any, don't hesitate to let us know in our official Official Discord server.

We're extremely excited to continue working on the game and providing regular development updates in our Discord Server, and we're incredibly happy with the quality of the game - much more content is planned for the full release, with new mechanics, new maps, and a bunch more monsters for you to encounter! Stamina base regeneration rate has been greatly increased
Stamina Upgrade effect has been greatly increased
Coffee effects have been greatly increased
Adjusted spawn rarity of certain monsters
Reduced volume of Dungeon entry sound effect
Existing Dungeon rooms have received a visual update
Items can now spawn on some shelves throughout the Dungeon
Greatly increased distance at which you can stop Buttons by looking at him
Loot spawning updates to help prevent item clustering
Increased dungeon occlusion to prevent visual errors
Changed train lever interaction text to make its function more obvious
The radio in the first station now only activates when you approach it
Updated Reaper's sound effects to allow players to easily distinguish between the sounds of the Reaper and the Faceless

Fix for station loading OOB
Fixed bug that caused random deaths when travelling between destinations
Fixed a bug that cased the spectate HUD to not display data properly
Fixed a bug that occasionally made it so players couldn't steal back an item that was taken by the Scavenger
Fixed a bug where tools bought while the train is moving would cause them to slide out of bounds
Fixed a bug where all monsters were affected by decals

[h2]Known Issues[/h2]
Dropping items while the train is moving will occasionally cause them to slide out of bounds
Buttons' animations rarely continue to play while he's 'frozen' by a player
Enemies navigation will rarely cause them to get stuck in a loop between a few rooms

This is the first of several large updates we're planning to do for the Demo leading up to the Steam Next Fest in June, we are still investigating some bugs to fix and features to add to the demo in the coming weeks.

P.S. The update is pretty large relative to the storage size of the demo because most of the content was 'rebuilt' for miscellaneous developer reasons; don't worry about the size of the update, the demo still takes up roughly the same amount of disk space!

Good morning survivors!

After a lot of hard work from us over the time since the store page launched, the demo is finally ready for you to play and enjoy. There isn't much for me to say aside from; we really hope you enjoy your time with it!

The Demo For Engine Eternal will be released on the 12th of May!


We've been hard at work since the initial launch of the steam page to get a Demo prepared and it's
almost ready! The Demo will include a small portion of the content available in the full game, including:

  • 1 Dungeon Interior
  • A Variety of Tools That You Can Purchase Onboard
  • A Wide Array of Loot Items
  • Several Different Hats and Colours For Your Suit
