About the Current status of Oddone games and our future plan
Hello, fellow adventurers
This is Tree of Life DEVs.
First of all, we would like to apologize to you for our late reply and lack of communication so far.
In recent years, the company has been going through numerous obstacles and nasty stuff.
Due to such a harsh and chaotic environment,
we couldn't afford to try active communication with you guys.
However, we always kept on eye on opinions you have given us, and
we decided that it is time to tell you guys about the current status of our company.
As we have mentioned, due to the various crisis triggered by unfavorable factors including COVID-19, Oddone Games is now under significant financial threats.
To overcome the crisis and maintain our team,
we had to get investment, and its term was to develop a new game.
Developing a new game requires numerous financial and human resources, but as you might have known, Oddone Games is a small developer with less than 20 people. Under such a harsh environment, we cannot promise you to show you new updates on Tree of Life in the meantime because it would be almost impossible.
Furthermore, Tree of Life has been built based on the engine we developed,
and it takes a long time to fix even a very simple error.
So, since most of our staff has to work on the new project,
it is hard for us to handle CS quickly for the moment.
It was a really cruel decision for us, too.
Tree of Life is not only a game but the life work that all DEVs put their youth and passion.
However, if we couldn't maintain the company and team, it would be impossible for us
to keep the Tree of Life also.
So we had to make a tough decision.
However, we can tell you that we have never forgotten Tree of Life.
Oddria, our new game is a spiritual sequel of Tree of Life which adopted many features from the original. Though for now there is Treasure Hunt mode only, but we are designing the sandbox mode that anyone who have played Tree of Life can easily enjoy!
Of course, we are aware that many people will not satisfy with such measurement only.
So, we set a plan to restart further update on Tree of Life as soon as the company return to self-sustaining status and expand the team to take the project.
For now, we cannot promise its exact timing, but we definitely have a concrete plan about it.
It is no wonder that you guys get frustrated and angry on us,
and we are always sorry about it.
To make up for it, we will never give up and keep up our challenge until we make Tree of Life and Oddria classic that can make you guys proud.
