Hollow Knight: Silksong is taking so long to come out, it's already been remade in Minecraft

Everyone is still waiting for Hollow Knight: Silksong to release, so one YouTuber took it into their hands to get it made in Minecraft.

Yeah, yeah, I know, Silksong out yet and it's frustrating. We're all waiting on it! And it is taking a while, but you know what? I bet you haven't even beaten Shadow of the Erdtree yet, so let's put a pin in Silksong for the time being, shall we? Sorry, you're so desperate to play absolutely anything from Silksong that you think you'll burst into a giant plume of confetti if you don't? Fine, alright, calm down. You're in luck, actually, because as it turns out, you can now play Silksong's fabled 2019 E3 demo… in Minecraft. As spotted by TheGamer, YouTuber Primacon commissioned Minecraft map maker Clouser to recreate the 2019 Silksong E3 demo, which you can check out below.

Clouser has experience in putting Hollow Knight in Minecraft, as they actually remade the first three areas of the metroidvania in everyone's favourite game about blocks previously. On this occasion, Clouser has recreated the two areas available to play in the Silksong demo, Deep Docks and Moss Grotto, both of which have boss fights named Lace and Mossmother respectively. Rather than a simple menu letting you choose which area you want to explore, there's a little hub area where you can select which one you want to play.

Are we finally going to see Hollow Knight: Silksong at tomorrow’s Indie World Nintendo Direct?

A Nintendo Indie World has been set for tomorrow, so of course it begs the question, as it does everytime a games company hosts a presentation: will Silksong be there?

The next Nintendo Indie World is taking place tomorrow, 3pm BST/ 10am ET, as announced by the game developer earlier today, and is promising about 20 minutes of "announcements and updates on indie games headed to Nintendo Switch in 2024." That's on the shorter end, even for an Indie World presentation, so don't expect news on absolutely every indie game under the sun. Nintendo normally has some surprises up its sleeves, including for Indie World, but obviously the surprise that everyone is hoping for is a Hollow Knight: Silksong release date.

Now, I know what you're thinking: don't people spam "Silksong when?" in the chat of every livestream like this? What makes this one any different? Well, just earlier this week it was spotted that Silksong received a rating by the Australian ratings board. It received one back in February too, in Korea, a territory whose ratings board frequently reveals games prior to their official announcements. Ratings don't necessarily mean a game is out anytime soon, for example Silent Hill: The Short Message was rated last year, before the wave of Silent Hill news arrived in October, and that free horror title didn't release until earlier this year.

Hollow Knight players release fan-made DLC, helping us endure the wait for literally any Silksong info

While many await a morsel of news regarding Hollow Knight: Silksong since its delay during May, some keen Hollow Knight players have worked tirelessly to create an impressive, fan-made DLC known as Pale Court for the game (thanks, GamesRadar).

So, if you’re in need of a way to satiate that Hollow Knight itch, the Pale Court DLC should have you covered for the time being. Released on July 1 following a launch trailer, the fan-made DLC can be downloaded via Github at your own discretion, and you’ll need the Scarab+ mod manager to get it working.

The Pale Court mod will allow players to “challenge Hallownest’s mightiest champions in combat”, with boss fights and lore massively expanded. There’s also new charms, secrets, and dialogue to look forward to; all lovingly made by fans in the style of Hollow Knight’s developer, Team Cherry. If you’re interested in the creators behind Pale Court, you can view a full list of mod credits here; it’s clearly been a valiant, collaborative effort!

Hollow Knight's newest mod feels like it should be paid DLC

It's been a while since I played Hollow Knight, an awesome 2017 metroidvania from the minds at Team Cherry. It's filled with bugs (in a good way), mysterious halls, overgrown gardens, and gorgeous artwork that somehow makes Hallownest's desolate wastes feel cosy and inviting. I was delighted to discover—with the help of Gamesradar—that the fanmade expansion the Pale Court was finally released at the start of the month...
