Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 - Get da MILK! News

We Have Lift-Off!

[p][/p]
YHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
[p]I cannot contain my EXCITEMENT for this day of launch, where the first Bru & Boegie game gets released to the public! [/p][p]This year has been one of learning, and somehow... here we are! From a little brain-spark last year based on characters I've been drawing and animating for over 20 years, to a game for sale on Steam. Ma bru - what a ✨thing!✨. Here's some of the earliest sketches I have from way back when:[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Was running through the final release PC, Mac and Linux builds on Monday night to do final checks that release build v1.25 all works fine (it does, at least I couldn't find any issues and the builds have been through many iterations by this point. I ran through the game in Chinese too.) Using the Steam Deck, the game looks so vibrant. My olde iPhone 11 doesn't really do it justice, but it looked rad.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you're reading this, thank you kindly - I hope you enjoy it, it was created with a lot of love from me and everyone who contributed to it, it's a distillation of what I enjoy about point & click adventure games; particularly the humour that the genre is often known for. I hope it's what kickstarts my indie game dev career, and I'm looking forward to continuing work on the next episode. If you do play the game, please let me know how it went for you.[/p][p]All the best,[/p][p]m[/p][p]❤️[/p][p]BONUS: Check this cool interview I did with Adventure Game Geek - he even did a rad music video at the end, lol![/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Launch Imminent!

[p][/p]
I can SMELL da MILK
[p]The game is imminently launching next week Wednesday! I can hardly believe the time has almost arrived to unleash these 2 underpanted bald children onto an unsuspecting public. It's been a rewarding journey of learning to get to this point, and I'm thrilled that it's almost over the finish line and into an audience's mouse-clicking paws.[/p][p][/p]
Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 Steam NextFest Summary
[p]Steam NextFest recently ended, and Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 - Get da MILK! took part in it. The game performed well; it got a bunch of new wishlists and new eyes on the game, and it's somehow broken into the SteamDB charts with its wishlist activity. I discovered a service called RoboStreamer that let me stream a looping broadcast of playthrough videos that myself and 3 others (with their permission) had made, to the game's page for a couple of days during NextFest, which was cool. [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Disabling the Episode 1 Demo
[p]I've decided to disable the Episode 1 Demo on the 28th Oct - the day before launch. I may bring it back for special occasions, but for the foreseeable future it'll be disabled, and the Steam version will be the only way to play the full game.[/p][p][/p]
Spanish? Sí!
[p]A fantastic individual who found my game on Reddit kindly offered to do a full Spanish translation of the game, and lo - she did! Now the game (from v1.25, the version that will be available at launch) is translated into both Chinese AND Spanish, hopefully broadening the reach of the game. Very cool! Thank you to Cristina Castany, I'm super grateful that she reached out.💥[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
In other news
[p]Bru & Boegie: Episode 2 - Get da SUGAR! is coming along well. It's been taking up the lion's share of my time. I've done quite a bit of front-loading / vertical progress, testing and figuring out new systems, and had enough in place recently to start making some good horizontal progress as I move towards building out an entertaining internal and then public demo for the game. My buddy Sheldon Bengtson did a fantastic punch-up pass on the script.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

[p][/p][p]🫡 Friends, this Episode 1 launch is a prescient moment for both myself and Bru & Boegie. Bru & Boegie is a project I started over 20 years ago - we've been through ups and downs, they've appeared in various comic books and animated shorts, and a broadcast company with a mouse as a mascot once briefly had rights to Bru & Boegie for an animated show (that did not work out well). This is the first time I'm launching a project on Steam, and I'm beyond thrilled it's Bru & Boegie's own videogame! 🧘‍♂️✨Please enjoy this moment with me.✨🧘‍♂️[/p][p][/p][p]To celebrate the lead-up to the launch, I made a long video update about ALL things Bru & Boegie, linked below for your viewing and listening pleasure: [dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Steam NextFest, New Interview and 8/10 Review!

[p][/p][p][/p]
Steam NextFest
[p]I'm pleased to announce that Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 - Get da MILK! will be taking part in Steam NextFest, starting TODAY and running until 20th October, 2025. Hopefully the demo will get into the hands of a bunch more players, because the full game is launching SOON - 29th October! I'll have a looping stream to my page with playthroughs from me, GrayStillPlays and Yippee Ki Yay Mr Falcon (with kind permission from both of them).[/p]
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]

NAG Mag Interview
[p]NAG (New Age Gaming) Magazine - a South African magazine I used to collect when I was a kid - was kind enough to interview me recently about the game! Regardt and I chatted about a whole buncha stuff, it was cool. Link to that below:[/p]
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]

GeekGasm review - 8/10!
[p]I was thrilled to discover my first bona fide game review from GeekGasm! They gave it a generous 8/10! It's a glowing review, there's so many quotable parts, but I guess I'll just clip the end of it here:[/p][p][/p]
Final Thoughts - A Fever Dream Worth Playing
[p]Bru & Boegie Episode 1 – Get Da MILK! is chaotic, hilarious, and unlike any other adventure game you’ll play this year. It channels the madness of fever dream comedy, filters it through classic point-and-click gameplay, and delivers a half-hour of laugh-out-loud absurdity.[/p][p]Sure, it’s short. But when a game has psychotic neighbours, bread-headed men, pop stars in your undies, interdimensional coffee stakes, and fourth-wall-breaking humour, you forgive its brevity.[/p][p]If you love point-and-click adventures, have a taste for irreverent comedy, or simply want to play something that’ll make you laugh out loud, then don’t miss Bru & Boegie Episode 1 – Get Da MILK!. It’s stupid. It’s clever. It’s brilliant. And if Episode 1 is this good, I can’t wait to see where the boys go when the whole world’s on the line. Episode 2 can’t come soon enough![/p][p][/p][p]Rating: 8/10 – A short but hilariously sweet cup of lunacy.[/p][p][/p]

[p]Well, that's it for now! Download and play the demo if you haven't already, and get ready for the full game's release in a little over 2 weeks! WOW! [/p][p][/p]
