Dark Souls 3 prequel mod Archthrones looks like a full DLC

A massive Dark Souls 3 mod called Archthrones has a new video out that includes a hefty 15 minutes' worth of gameplay. The overhaul mod for FromSoftware's 2016 RPG game pulls liberally from other titles in From's catalogue, including Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. The effect is remarkable: while it's a mod created by fans, it looks for all the world like an official expansion.

Update 9/24/22: As reported by GamesRadar, Dark Souls 3's PC servers are now back up and running, though FromSoftware did not announce the change or clarify what went wrong. Servers for the other two Dark Souls games remain offline, with no roadmap of when they might come back...

Dark Souls 3 servers have quietly come back online

Dark Souls 3 servers are back online, but there's been no official word about it from the developer. FromSoftware announced earlier this week that there was an ongoing "issue" when attempting to log in to the RPG game's servers via Steam, but didn't provide any further details or an estimated timeframe for a fix. Today, that fix appears to have arrived.

Sony and Tencent buy almost a third of FromSoftware’s stock in joint deal

Sony Interactive Entertainment and Chinese conglomerate Tencent have bought a combined 30% of stock in Elden Ring and Souls series developers FromSoftware, parent company Kadokawa Corporation have announced today. The transaction leaves Sony with a 14% stake in FromSoft, and Tencent acquiring 16% of the company’s shares. Kadokawa remain the largest shareholders, holding almost a 70% stake in FromSoft.
