Hero-U Beta 2.0 and Upcoming Prequel - Summer Daze at Hero-U

We've updated the Beta test version of Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption with a candidate for version 2.0. In your Steam library, right-click the game name, select Properties, then the BETAS tab, then "beta - Build Candidate". No access code is required.

This build contains several new options under the Settings menu. There are additional options for unusual screen resolutions.

There is also a Languages tab. We are currently testing the French language localization. We also have a partially complete Simplified Chinese version. To change languages, click on the arrow next to your current language until the display changes to the language you want to use.

The Super Gluey is now active. It will hold even large monsters in place for much longer than an ordinary Gooey. It should even be usable as a puzzle solution on a particularly large and heavy monster. Let us know whether the Super Gluey lives up to your expectations.

Prequel Game Now on Kickstarter!

We're raising funds to complete Summer Daze at Hero-U, the prequel to Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption. This is a story game in a visual novel format, but also an adventure game with many choices and consequences.

In Summer Daze, you'll play as either Tilly, a mischievous Disbarred Bard, or Ifeyo, a studious rogue who is related to Ifetaya, the master chef of Hero-U. It will be your responsibility to make the end-of-Summer harvest festival a success... or not. As in Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption, you'll meet many fascinating and unusual characters, and there will be puns.

If you enjoyed Hero-U or Quest for Glory, we think you'll love Summer Daze at Hero-U. Check it out at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/transolargames/summer-daze-at-hero-u.

October 8, 2019 — It’s the pre-holiday rush, and in video games, that means an onslaught of blood, guts, and “hard-hitting”, depressing narratives. Yes, violent games are fun, but sometimes you’re just not in the mood, and some indie games have gotten so obsessed with making a point that it’s started to feel… pointless.

Wouldn’t it be nice to spend some time in a world where most people are good, and where friendship and tolerance are the rule rather than the exception? Summer Daze at Hero-U is that place. After 30 years making games, master Quest For Glory developers Corey and Lori Cole are Kickstarting this lighthearted new game, the follow-up to 2018’s Hero-U Rogue To Redemption.

“Our #1 rule has always been, ‘The player must have fun.’ For us, that starts with likable characters and humorous dialogue.” - Lori and Corey Cole

What IS Summer Daze at Hero-U?

Summer Daze at Hero-U is a story-driven point-and-click adventure game. Play as female rogue Tilly Appleberry - whose humor and wits are her greatest weapons - or the studious male wizard Ifeyo Kinah and his meerbat familiar Jafafa. The adventure begins during Hero-U’s summer festival… which has to be a success or here will be consequences! Each character is very different, and each of their stories weaves through the school in a special way.

While there are exciting secrets to discover, the game affirms the inherent goodness of people… and minotaurs, katta, kwirks, ghosts, and more! So take a break from the grim darkness of many other games, and enjoy a shamelessly fun experience!
