What to expect from the next add-on (Part 2)

Last time I have told that there will be more statistics for the tournaments you play in.

Today I want to tell about other data you will be able to see in the game.

Seeing other countries

Many players asked about the possibility to see the tournament tables of other countries. We will give this possibility.

Now you can go to the Countries screen, choose the country of interest and click the 'Tables' button at the bottom of the screen. In the screenshot, my club plays in England, but I chose Italy:

View the results of all matches of the season

This is a possibility which many players asked us for as well.

At the bottom of the Tables screen, there are arrows to the right and left. They change the information about the selected tournament. Previously, you could only switch between the Clubs and Footballers views. Now we have added an additional view: Matches.

Moreover, you can even see the history of all matches of the season and in other leagues as well. For example, in the screenshot below, I opened the results of matches in Italy (I recall that my club plays in England):

Similarly, you can see the match results in continental tournaments:

The history of face-ups between clubs

Finally, the most important feature. You can see the history of face-ups of any two clubs.

Firstly, now before the match, a button appears that allows you to recall the history of plays with the next opponent.

Secondly, if you select an opponent in any of the tables, a button will appear at the bottom of the screen allowing you to see the history of matches with him.

And thirdly, on any of the screens that displays the results of matches, you can select the pair of clubs to see the history of plays between them. In the screenshot below, I look at the statistics between the two clubs in Italy:

This screen displays how many times each team won and how many draws were in the face-ups.

In addition, here we display additional data. For example, how many goals were scored in these matches by each team.

At the bottom of the screen, you will see all the matches in which the teams met each other with the date of the play, the name of the tournament and the round of the tournament.

Additionally, the result of the last five matches for each team is displayed in brief form.

Here is an example of interesting statistics between Liverpool and Madrid:

In 2019, teams played in the group stage of European Cup. Madrid beat Liverpool twice. But the matches were hot. Next time they met in 2023 in the finals. Liverpool avenged defeat. And two years later, Liverpool won again, but this time, in the semifinal of the European Cup.

If you were pleased with the information about any of these statistics, I would be glad to know what you were most interested in. Also, if you have any questions or suggestions - feel free to write in the commentaries.

Btw, I wonder if do the English terms I used here are correct. Does "Face-up" mean the match where two teams meat each other? Do "Shoot-Outs" mean the matches where at least one of the teams didn't miss a goal?

What to expect from the next add-on (Part 1)

While we are working on the next add-on, I will tell about new features we have already made for this add-on.

Today I want to talk about statistics that will be displayed for each tournament.

The screenshots below might be not final. There are some elements which will be polished later.

Basic Tournament Information

Here, you will find the main information about the chosen tournament be it Third League or European Cup.

In the place where 'Not enough data' is written, the most interesting statistical information about the tournament will be displayed. For example, the club that scored the most goals; the country with the most trophies; etc. This information we have not added to this screen yet.

Champions

It's a list with all the champions with the details about played matches, wins, loses, scored and missed goals etc.

Also, here you will see the best players in the tournament for each season.

Clubs

This and the following three screens are my favourites.

Here you can see the history of the performance of all clubs for each tournament individually.

In addition to basic information, here you can compare clubs according to the following stats:
  • How many seasons did the club participate in the tournament
  • How many times did the club take second or third place
  • How many times did the club lose in the finals or semifinals (for the cup tournaments)
  • How many matches did the club play in the tournament
  • How many times did the club relegate from the league
  • What the maximum place did the club take in the league

After 10 or more seasons, this table is filled with the history of ups and downs. It is especially interesting to dig into the statistics of clubs in international tournaments.

The tables on this and all subsequent screens can be sorted by different stats. If you want to sort the teams by the number of matches played in the tournament or the number of defeats in the finals - you will be able to do it easily.

Footballers

This is also a very interesting screen, the whole charm of which is revealed after 10 or more seasons.

It displays the top 20 players of the tournament in different categories (best scorer, best goalkeeper, etc.) in its entire history.

It is interesting to find your players on this screen, it is interesting to watch how other players have become stars in other clubs.

I like that after dozens of seasons in the table will be both football players who set records in the early years and beginners. This can be seen in the "Debut" column.

Countries

Another very interesting screen, which is displayed only for continental tournaments.

It shows how well different countries perform in these tournaments. Also on this screen, you can see all the winners and all the finalists of the chosen tournament.

Bug fixes

Despite the fact that we are now actively working on an add-on to FTG, in recent months several bugs have accumulated that we would like to fix in the main version of the game.

  • The Amateur Goalkeeper should have had a 10% bonus to Control, but there was no such bonus in the match. Fixed.
  • In Footballpedia, the information about zones of CF's actions and zones of CF's experience was wrong. Fixed.
  • In statistics of Hot-seat tournaments, in the field "Team with the nerves of steel" the penalty shootouts were taken to account. But it made the whole field pointless. Fixed. Not, the field shows only the penalties taken in the course of a match.
  • The fields "Most unfortunate" and "Least disciplined" in the stats of the hot-seat tournament showed wrong information. Fixed.
  • In the matches, we increased slightly the priority for performing crosses for AI.
  • Added several new rare formations for AI.
  • Optimized the animations subsystem. Now, the animations should work more fluently on the old PCs.
  • Fixed rare situations which led to two players appeared in one tile after Layoff Pass.
  • AI sometimes didn't take to account an offside when performing Layoff Pass. Fixed.
  • If a player opens the career screen f the footballer who ended his career, the game crashed. Fixed.
  • The game crashed if a player pressed Left and Right mouse buttons simultaneously on the button Back in some screens. Fixed.
  • In some cases, when there weren't enough footballers in a team, the game crashed. Fixed.
  • Added the translation for the team names to Chinese. (Thanks, Yucheng He!)

A big add-on for Football, Tactics & Glory is in development

Hi everyone!

Today we want officially announce that we are working on a big paid add-on for FTG which will be released around summer-autumn 2020.

The players who played 50 and more hours, know that at some point you stop feeling the game world. Because despite you have played 20-30 seasons, there isn't a possibility to see how your or other clubs contributed to the game world, who was a champion of various tournaments, what footballers left the mark on the football world etc. But the game world is living - matches are played in all the countries, players earn XP, clubs earn money. However, you can's see that.

Therefore, we decided to create an add-on which will give you just that - the possibility to plunge in the sea of statistics.

Another huge improvement will be the new mode which will allow you as a coach to be hired by other clubs. Each season or two, the club management will set a task for you.
Successful completion of the task will improve your rating, which will allow more famous clubs to draw attention to you. And if you do not complete the task, you may be fired, and your rating will drop.

In addition, there will be other improvements that correct the balance of the game and add new features.

In the spring, we plan to open early access to the add-on. Those players who want to be the first to test the new features will be able to buy the add-on and try them out. But this will be an incomplete version which still will be in the development process.

Once every two weeks, we will talk in more detail about the features that will appear in the add-on. So stay tuned here on Steam, or on any of our news feeds:

Football, Tactics & Glory is coming to consoles soon!

Digital version of Football, Tactics & Glory Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on January 22. In the US, it will be available a bit later - in February.

The retail version of the game will be available only for Germany and Austria. Maybe, in the UK and France too. German players can already pre-order the retail version from this store.

The console version is totally the same as the Steam version. It also includes the last huge update.

The only difference is that there won't be users' modifications. Also, you won't be able to upload your own files into the game. However, you will still be able to edit leagues, players, team, logotypes, weather etc using in-game editors.

But everything else is the same: the fun from controlling the club, the pleasure from making the tactical and strategical decisions, the inner satisfaction from seeing your player who used to be a young perspective weakling to become a top-notch forward.

What makes the console version more satisfying is that you can bring your friends and play your own hot-seat tournaments in front of TV on a couch instead of sitting tightly near one PC. ːcannonshotː
