Resident Evil Requiem Brings Back Another Friendly Face According To PS Store Listing

Resident Evil Requiem continues to inch closer to its February release date, but not without a few leaks in its hull as the PS Store seems to have accidentally revealed the return of Resident Evil 4‘s protagonist.

There have been a couple of leaks that have come out of the woodwork regarding a beloved CAPCOM zombie apocalypse franchise, and they start with the cast of Resident Evil Requiem. First, there was a potential GameStop leak, which listed the PC version’s Deluxe Edition content. This included new skins for a not-yet-announced character (which have since been removed). The character is named, where the Deluxe Edition lists off included content, with the bundle including “three exclusive outfits for Rosemary Winters,” a previously unnamed addition to the cast of Requiem (found by VGC).

Resident Evil Requiem Will Feature Characters From Past Games, But Don’t “Over Hype It” Says Producer

Despite it just being months away, we still know surprisingly little about Resident Evil Requiem. We’ve only seen a handful of short gameplay clips, and know the game introduces the brand new protagonist, FBI Agent Grace Ashcroft.

There’s already some connection to the series’ past in Requiem, as Grace is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a character from the PS2 title Resident Evil Outbreak. But it also seems like we will definitely see more past characters appear, according to the game’s producer, Masato Kumazawa.

In an interview with Well Played, Kumazawa was asked if we might see other characters from Outbreak appear. His answer was, “I would say that yes, there are going to be some characters from the past series to come in, but don’t over-expect or hype.”

That’s obviously a little vague, and Kumazawa adds just a little more by saying, “We can’t promise you anything about that, but the only thing I can say is that... Read more

Resident Evil Requiem won’t repeat Monster Hunter Wilds' technical blunders, Capcom say

I’ve moaned plenty about the technical and performance woes that Monster Hunter Wilds inflicted upon itself, and only seems committed to remedying at a glacial pace. Yet on the possibility of future RE Engine-powered games suffering the same fate, even I haven’t been as worried as certain Capcom investors, who recently extracted an assurance from the developer-publisher that upcoming horror sequel Resident Evil Requiem will arrive in better shape.

During a conference call to discuss fiscal earnings and other businessy matters – the official transcript is here, translated from the original Japanese – Capcom were asked if there was "a risk that Resident Evil Requiem will experience technical issues similar to those seen with Monster Hunter Wilds." The response: nah mates, probably not.
